Ippei was not just an "interpreter" he was Ohtani's personal assistant, driver, caretaker, perhaps he had a huge influence in Ohtani's life in the US and perhaps became one of close friends role too.

Never eh? Do you swear on the lives of your family? People like you don't have a lick of common sense. You really want to declare, without any doubt, that "Shohei would never do gambling" when he gave his interpreter access to his bank account where he had millions of dollars and massive withdrawals were being pulled from it? He didn't once question where it was going and what it was being used for?

Why didn't ESPN interview Shohei Ohtani in the first place? Money was sent from his account. Why did ESPN interview Ippei Mizuhara instead of Ohtani? This was a big mistake, which allowed him to tell lies and create a huge mess.

They couldn't get through Mitzuhara. Miitzuhara isolated Ohtani. Ohtani didn't find out what happened until Mitzuhara addressed his whole Dodger team because of the scandal he'd created. Then Ohtani realized Mitzuhara was wrong. Ohtani didn't authorize a $4 mil payment for gambling debts of Mitzuhara, and he realized his interpreter was lying.

Ohtani had absolutely no reason to pay off his interpreter's debt. He's smart enough to know that doing so could get himself into serious trouble.
The interpreter had access to the bank account either because he'd helped Ohtani open it in the first place or because he had the password and everything he needed to access it.

The money is clear. It comes from Ohtani's account. So now what? It is complicated. The bookie is clear. He only dealt with the interpreter. The FBI/baseball have to look at the time of each transfer from Ohtani's account to the bookie. Where was Ohtani at that precise time? Where was Mitzuhara? Any pictures of the transferor? Check Ohtani's phone or computer for timing. But even then, this guy had Ohtani so isolated here in US, that it always come back to the interpreter. He apparently even controlled Ohtani's contact with Ohtani's own lawyers, accountants and manager! I ask where is Ohtani's family? Why aren't they in US to help him? Mitzuhara ingratiated himself with Ohtani when Ohtani was a teenager. The family apparently abdicated all control to Mitzuhara, who is older and lied to them about his credentials-he never went to UCR and never worked for Boston or the NY Yankees. Mitzuhara duped Ohtani.
