Belinda love the progress on your WIP's. They all are so beautiful. You are a very talented lady and always enjoy watching your channel. You are such an inspiration to me. Look forward to seeing your next video in the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
All of your WIP's are amazing. You sure are ambitious!!! I want to thank you for your video about the lap stand you use. I developed arthritis in my left thumb and hadn't been able to stitch since the end of Dec. I ordered the lap stand and received it the first week of March. I am now able to stitch with just using my right hand. It is a little slower, but I am loving it. Thanks again!! Keep up your beautiful stitching.
Wonderful projects Brenda and super pretty stitching. I don't have a favorite because I liked them all but all your houses and books are astounding!!! Oh please do tell Catherine; Boss Daughter, that I'm sending her lots of applause on the Fairy Tales all framed. Perfectly done and so worth the effort!!!! Thanks so much for putting the picture in so I could see along with all your fans. What a wonderful Floss Tube post and I got to be part of it. So counting my blessings in the snow today. I wonder if my little crocus will ever show their flowers this year. We've needed an end to the drought though so much gratitude to God for sending it to us. Happy stitching on your soon to come Spring break.
Thank You Lilia! I love that picture of Catherine :) And I totally agree about the crocus. I am so grateful for the snow, but so ready for some warmer weather, lol.
Finally trying to do Flosstube catchup. Love all your projects Brenda, especially the Carol Manning one, the colors are beautiful. Will miss you at St. George. 🤗😊
Hey Brenda...I have fallen in love with the Tiny town series too...going to stitch a few of them! Love your hair...looks sexy on you.😊. Your WIPS like is Sooo interesting to see the progress and look for my favorites!! HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2023!!
Beautiful stitching as always. I love seeing your afghans. And then I have to stop myself from ordering afghan patterns. Maybe someday, they're so tempting. I'm impatiently waiting for the beach tiny town pattern.
Oh Brenda I enjoy each of your videos, all of your stitching is splendid. I'm amazed at how much you get stitched, and all of your electric charts. The one bag you bought looks so much like the Color of water. Take care stay warm and enjoy your stitching.
Super video. Always love seeing your beautiful finishes and WIPs also. The new starts are going to be fun watching you stitch them. Great haul. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing! When I saw your tiny village with snow I was happy that we finally moved south where we don’t shovel anymore..or fall!! All your WIPS are looking great!
Goodness! You have been busy! I just love the progress you've made on your projects. Thank you for taking the time to mention all the details of fabric, flosses, and your changes. Your Easter pieces at the end are beautiful.
Thank you for your video. You really did stitch on alot of different WIPS! That's good for us, because we love to see them! The bags are beautiful! That quilted blue one looks like your project from Historich Stickmuster! Hmmm! 🤔 Take care and happy stitching!
I really like all your projects, they are very similar to my style but some of your big projects blow me away. It was fun to hear about the Dutch canal homes. (Need to find that video). Hugs and blessings on your upcoming week.
Always look forward to your videos❤ I love what you did with the sea colors in the By the Bay piece. It looks great. I got a small start on Spring Montage, the full coverage version and I'm loving it already. Thanks for sharing your progress and what you used to get that color on the fabric. I wrote it down to try out sometime. Happy Stitching and enjoy your break!
You are the first flosstuber that I found after typing "cross stitch" for the first time on youtube. I stayed because I loved your work and the way you explain things. Thank you so much for sharing! Today you totally enabled me to pick up the Secret Sewing Room SAL has a gift for myself because I'm starting a new professional course :)
Hello Lucia! I'm so glad you found the wonderful community of Flosstube :) And best wishes on your new course! I think the Little Dove SAL is the perfect way to treat yourself :)
I come here to see your progress on the russian-dutch bookshelf. It is so pretty but I know I would not have the patience to stitch that. :) I love it.
Good morning Brenda it was fun eating breakfast with you this morning. I met you at Stitch-Con last year. I’m happy to hear you are attending again this year. I will see you there. I was wondering where do you purchase the large pieces of fabric you stitch on.
Hi Bonnie!!! So nice to talk to you again! And glad we will see each other again this year :) I usually buy my big pieces of fabric from 123stitch.com. But I did buy the large pieces of afghan fabric from the Stoney Creek website.
Well.. the afghans are calling my name..I wanted to do one of the patterns you are working on my I ended up just getting a nursery Afghan and some little animals to stitch on it..for the grandchild I someday may have… you totally enabled me on it though..I can’t crochet or knit or quilt so this will be the only way I can create a blanket of some kind..lol
I love your updates, Brenda. We have the same taste on stitching projects, and I always want to start everything you're working on. Today is no exception. I've looking for the Little Dove Designs mystery SAL, and I'm not finding it on their Etsy at all.
Thank You Teresa! So sorry to enable, lol! I think Little Dove Designs had an April 1st deadline to sign up for the Sewing Room SAL. But after the SAL is over in the Fall, she said she would release the whole design for purchase :)
You definitely fly with the Christmas afghan unless you are frogging and then it's considerably slower than stitching. I love love love your new afghan. It was hard to tell on camera. How much of that was bead? I had to sit on my hands when you showed Primavera in the City. Must. Not. Buy. Can you work on 46ct without magnification? I've never seen small counts like that in person. I bought Kingdom of Books because of you. I haven't started it, but it's on the list.
Hi Julie!!! You should definitely avoid that frogging stuff, lol!! There are no beads in the first square of the afghan, but there will be in the next square! I wear my 3.5 reading glasses for all of my stitching, even on 28 ct. But I can see the 46 ct just as well as I can see the 28 ct with them. When I work on 56ct, I have a pair of stronger reading glasses that I use. And if it is night I have to have my floor lamp right over my shoulder shining right on it. Yay Kingdom of Books!!!!! And you know it will only be a matter of time until one of those city of rabbit seasons ends up at your house . . . .
I love your flosstubes!! You explain things so well, why you make the changes you do. Very informative! Would you mind sending me the DMC conversion to Sunnyside Sampler by The Drawn Thread? I bought the chart and fabric, not knowing DMC conversion was not listed. Hope to see you in a couple weeks. Are you getting lamblasted with snow like the Bougie Sisters in Wyoming? We are pretty temperate here in southern Missouri.
Thank You Joyce! Yes, I would be happy to share! Email me at adnerbyakj@gmail.com and I will send it to you :) Yes, we have had a LOT of snow, clear into the first week in April. Now it has warmed up a little and we are just getting rain, lol. But it is still getting down into the 20s this week at night. A slow cold Spring for sure :)
Brenda Brenda ! I have spent my afternoon looking through a number of your videos hoping to find you talking about a French pattern Gigi R. This design incorporates your initial B. I have been able to get the same design with the letter C. I remember you were going to use DMC Paris thread however ,I cannot remember the material you were going to work design on. Would you please help. X
Hi Cathy! I show that one in video #109, but I am not sure if I mentioned the fabric I was doing it on, lol! It is on 46ct Antique White Linen, 1 strand of floss over 2 linen threads :)
Greetings Brenda from bonnie Scotland. Thankyou so much for getting back in touch , Will now look to find 109. Enjoy watching your videos in the afternoon with my stitching or cup of tea in my hand. Look forward to seeing you soon x
Your new patchwork bag reminds me of your Colors of Water piece. Lost No More is so lovely. I have a couple of the Janet Severs Jaylyn kits, too. I haven't started them yet because I am a very slow stitcher and already have about 13 projects, many of which are very large or full coverage. Lol.
Thank You Lynn!!! So happy you found the Janet Stever kits! The best thing about kits is that they will wait patiently for you until you have time to start them :)
All your stitching is so beautiful! I was wondering if you could explain something. I notice that most stitchers on youtube stitch on high count fabric (for example: the crochette a gogo on 46 count doing one strand of floss over two fabric threads). Wouldn't it be easier to stitch on 23 count using two strands of thread over one square? I use 14 or 18 count aida and two strands of floss over one square for everything. I tried 22 count once and found it to hard to see where I was going. Just wondering about this. Thank you for your wonderful channel and your demeanor is so soothing and calming.
Thank You Linda! I know a lot of stitchers would rather stitch with one strand of floss instead of 2 strands. And they choose 46 ct because they like the coverage of 1 strand on 46 ct. A 23ct aida would be the same size stitches but I think they only make 22 ct, and 2 strands would be way too thick on 22 ct, you would have to use 1 strand. But some stitchers prefer the look of linen over Aida on the finished product.
Hi Kathryn! No, there is no backing on them, you just have to try and keep your back as neat as possible :) For the edges, you leave a generous unstitched border and then you pull the long threads out to make a fringe.
You continue to inspire me with all your beautiful cross stitch projects. Do you use pattern keeper? Thank you so much for all your floss tubes. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Easter.
Really enjoyed your videos. Would love to see the back of the afghan. Would love to do one but unsure how to do back and how to finish. I know the loop start but how do you tie off
Hi Mary lou! I will try and remember to show the back next time. To end off, I just flip over to the back and run my thread under 3-4 stitches that are nearby and then cut the thread. I try and keep the back tidy, but it is still going to look like the back of a project :)
Thank you once again for a great video. You have such interesting projects and give good information. I really appreciate the work you put into your presentations.
Loved seeing all of your progress on your beautiful projects! Could you send me your English conversion for the houses on the Kingdom of Books project? Thank you.
Your projects are amazing. Can I ask please… The linen that you use seems to have nice even threads. I am just starting to stitch on linen and it is a little intimidating. What is your go to? Ty
Thank You LeAnn! I love evenweave fabric like Lugana and Jobelan. They are very similar to linen, but are a man-made fabric with perfectly even threads. They are a great way to get started on linen-type stitching. My favorite actual linens are BeStitchMe, Lakeside Linens, Picture This Plus, and the plain Zweigart colors. But real linen is always going to have "slubs" in it and places where the threads are thicker or thinner. Part of the charm of it :) I just stitch like normal and I don't care that where the threads are thicker the x's are bigger, and where the threads are thinner, the x's are smaller. It all looks amazing in the end :)
