I enjoy watching your videos so much. I believe it's because you are so calm and soft spoken. You are always interesting because you seem to accomplish a lot of stitching for a busy Mom and Grandmothrer. It is fun to watch your progress on projects. Thanks for sharing, I can only imagine the prep that goes into making a video. You do it with grace and you keep it to cross stitch by adding nothing controversial or political. A refreshing oasis when one is already bombarded with current events.
I am a new subscriber. I started going back and watching your channel from the beginning and every time you post a new video I sneak ahead, watch it and then go back to where I was at. I truly enjoy stitching to your videos, love laughing with you when your daughters are on. Thank you so much for sharing your love of cross stitch with floss tube! You are wonderful, know you're loved from Michigan.
Congratulations on your two year anniversary on flosstube! I love your videos and seeing your beautiful stitching. Love all your projects and the way you organized your wips and how you schedule your time on them. Love American Sampler. The silks are gorgeous as is your stitching.
I just love your flosstube channel. Your projects are all so appealing, you share your tips and discoveries with us, you have great guests from time to time (Hi Marie! Hi Catherine!), and you explain everything so well! Happy two years Flosstube-anniversary! May there be many more. I truly appreciate your time and talent and your willingness to share and to take the time to video for us. With much appreciation, Liz
What a wonderful video!!!! I absolutely loved seeing your stitching schedule and hearing about your routine! So many beautiful WIPS!!!! you have definitely enabled some purchases for me! 😊😊
Brenda you maniac! I have loved your videos and your projects are awesome. So are you and your daughters. You are one of my "imaginary friends" I got to meet at StitchCon 2019. It was so nice to meet you, you are as sweet in person as you are online. I want to be like you when I grow up (I'm 68 1/2 now) and add specialty stitches in my projects. I only have 5 WIPs so I am way behind your example. I hope we can meet again in 2021. Love and hugs to you and your awesome daughters.
Hello Deb!!!! Hey, we are definitely friends!!! LOL And yes, I too hope we get to meet again at StitchCon! And I have wished several times that I only had 5 WIPs, so I admire YOU!!
Oh goodness so many patterns to get and flosstubers to watch. This community is going to be the ruin of my bank account for sure! Love it and am having so much fun watching you and the others. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this and for keeping up with it. Happy Flosstube Anniversary. You're such an inspiration for stitchers.
Happy 2 year anniversary. My son's birthday is the 19th so I should now remember this date. I love seeing your organization, especially how you plan your rotation. You were the inspiration for some of my planning.
Hi Brenda - I really enjoyed your video today and seeing how you work your rotation. My process is much less involved, but only because my brain couldn’t handle so many WIPs going at once! I stitch at 3 times each day - in the morning (30 minutes on days I watch my granddaughter, 1-2 hours on the other days), when my granddaughter naps, and in the evening if I can stay awake, lol! So in the morning for the first part of the month, I work on a small, usually seasonal project. Once that’s finished, I work on two long-term projects, alternating a week on each. While my granddaughter naps, I stitch on the Linens and Threads SAL, and in the evening, I stitch on the same project I worked on in the morning. So basically, two WIPs per day. I do have three other WIPs that I’m not actively working on - they taunt me - wanting to be worked on. I may try something a little more like your rotation next year so I can actively be working on those other WIPs, lol. Have a wonderful couple of weeks.
Hi Jackie! Your rotation sounds wonderful!!! With fewer WIPs you will see finishes much sooner :) And so happy to hear from somebody else who is working on Linen and Threads!!
Hey Brenda! Your American Sampler is so pretty!!! That is A LOT of stitching. And I love those CrossStitcher Magazine patterns you picked out. All the color makes me so happy! And I love that Beachcomber pattern too.
So excited to see your post this morning! Happy 2 year Anniversary! Think I found you in February and haven’t missed any of your utubes since, went back to see all of yours since #1...some several times! I really enjoyed seeing your progress, realized I’ve made progress too on things you inspired, like my Stitching Shelf and the Sam Sarah Calendar. I’m using your ideas on organizing with the magnet board and am just now realizing it would be awesome to make pictures! I’ve decided to take a picture and make a 4X6 print every 3 months to show progress...then keep them in an album?! My mind seems to work like yours and I love the order and flexibility to keep track and move them around! You have inspired me so much and bring such positive joy! Will look forward to your next utube!!! Again Happy Anniversay! Hope to see you for MANY years to come!
Thank You Susan!!! I love your progress album idea!!! My daughter Marie took a picture of the model photo of all of her WIPs and made them into little magnets and keeps them on the side of her three tiered tray on wheels. I love being able to move the magnets around, and see at a glance how many WIPs I have. So happy to meet another organizer brain!!! LOL
Hi Brenda, Happy 2nd Anniversary! I've loved every minute of your videos and am so glad you make them. Your stitching is so interesting and I love seeing all of the wide variety of projects you work on. I love your Wee Village sections too. Stay safe, best wishes, Glo xxx
Thank You Gloria!!! I just brought all the houses in from the Wee Village for the winter, this morning. It is still looking pretty good, but I wanted to get it done and not have to do it later when it starts snowing.
Congratulations Brenda, I have been watching your videos for a long time now, enjoy seeing all your projects. And getting to see Boss and Bossy Daughter.. Looking forward to more years of stitching.. Again congratulations 2 years and counting... Happy Stitching!!
Time just flew by once again while watching your wonderful video and stitching on my project 😊 Two years on FlossTube, congrats!! I love seeing constant progress on all your gorgeous WIPs, so inspiring for my own stitching progress, as well. Thank you!
Two years?!? Wow that has absolutely flown by! Thank you so much for the mention - you made my week! Haha retro tripod! Lovely video as always. Haul is always dangerous - rabbit holes abound! I also have a few q-snaps, though not as many as you! Actually I have a qsnap of every square size, but I only use my 11x11 at the moment as I'm waiting on a stand that can hold the bigger ones! I got too excited haha. Otherwise I use a wooden scroll frame or even wooden hoops, which I find easier when stitching without a stand. That American Sampler never ceases to amaze me. It's so gorgeous - and the skill to do all those different stitches, too! I'm so jealous of your magnet board, I love moving things around while making plans too! You have such a long dog sampler spree going! All the best, Kat
Thank You Kat!!! LOL, yep a Long Dog Spree!!! I only use my larger q-snaps when I am beading, and they are definitely more awkward without the floor stand. And I do love the wooden hoops on small ornaments that don't fit well in an 8 x 8 q-snap. And goodness, magnet boards are cheap, you should get one!!! Or may just make magnets and put them on the fridge door!! Our front door and back doors are also made of metal and my grandkids put magnets on them as well.
Hi Brenda - congratulations on two years. I’ve been watching you for most of that time, so thank you very much. Did you notice that most of the pictures you showed that you want to stitch are of buildings? Interesting again to discuss the sulky thread. I have two major pieces I am doing in sulky, both on 32 count, which I am loving. And it moves along so quickly straight off the Spool. It is so frustrating that we can’t buy it in Australia, at least not the full range. My only option is 123 stitch which does not sell the large spools or the full range, and takes 5 to 7 weeks to deliver from Utah to Melbourne. It was slow even before the pandemic. The sulky variegated thread is difficult to buy without the benefit of your wonderful floss card. Some of the variegations are quite dramatic colour changes, whereas others are almost primitive like overdyed threads. Enjoy the colour chart! All the best, Kate
Thank You Kate!! I am so happy you are enjoying the Sulky thread too :) How frustrating that it is so hard to get in Australia. Maybe some day it will be easier to get. Yes, my daughters keep pointing out that most of the patterns I choose have a house on them somewhere, lol!!!
That’s so funny that you watch Cruising the Cut as so do I! I’m in the UK and it is a dream of mine to spend some time on a narrow boat. You inspired me to try sulky thread and my first ones just came in the post, can’t wait to try them! Thanks for another great flosstube.
Thank You Jo! I love to watch Cruising the Cut, we have gone back and watched all the episodes. We used to watch Journey with Jono too, but he stopped making videos. We have tried a few other narrow boat channels as well, but we always come back to Cruising the Cut. I too would love to take a journey on one. I am not sure about living on one though, I don't know where I would fit all my cross stitch stuff!! I hope you enjoy the Sulky as much as I do :)
Happy Anniversary! Your channel is always one that I learn something new on and thoroughly enjoy seeing your projects and haul. You have enabled me more than once!
Congratulations on two years. Your work as always is beautiful and keeping a handle on these WIPS is amazing. I am so loving using Sulky on pandemic and that is thanks to you. Beautiful project bag with the floss holder. ENABLED. Hope your school is going ok. You are welcome to our rain if I could send it. Stay safe and well from a very wet UK.
Thank You Carol!!! So glad you are enjoying the Sulky thread :) I still am as well, especially on Pandemic! Ohhh, I would so take some of your rain. Funny to think about what it would be like if we could share it, lol.
Thank you so much Brenda for explaining your rotation that I understood fully. 😊 I love seeing all your projects, they’re beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us for 2 years 🙌🏻 x
Congratulations on your two year Flosstube anniversary - I love your videos! Thank you for taking the time to make them. You always stitch on such beautiful pieces and I have been enabled more than once by your work! It was good to get some ideas for new Flosstubers to watch although I already have a long list of favourites!
I do enjoy your channel! Beautiful projects! Thank you for the floss tube suggestions! I’m excited to check them out! Be safe with that fire so close. I live in Northern California so I know about wildfires.
Thank You!!! Thankfully fire season is finally over. We have had some temps down to 15 degrees a few days ago, and a snow storm that put a few inches down in the mountains. The Ranger station a few blocks from my house has the "Low" sign out for fire danger right now, so I am hoping we are done with fires for this year at least. Thank you for thinking of me, and I hope you stay safe where you are as well :)
Sure hope you all are doing well! I’m missing your smiling face and utube update!! It’s been a month, so I’m getting excited that you’ll be stopping in to let us know how you are doing. Hope you have a special Thanksgiving! Our children sadly cancelled their trip, but we want to stay safe! Zoom will have to suffice this year. Can’t wait to have a noisy house full of laughter and banter! I’m very thankful this year for your presence, joy and inspiration!
Thank You Susan!! You are one of the ones who motivated me to get a video made!! And I so agree, I am so looking forward to a noisy house full of family again in the future. My Thanksgiving turned out to be a lovely quiet day, and we ate our meal as the same time as our children and my parents while we were all on a Zoom call together. It was almost as good as being together :)
You’re very sweet to shout out my kids! It has been quite some time since a video has been posted. I suppose we should remedy that, but not much kid stitching is happening lately with school being back in session. Congratulations on two years of flosstube!!
Hi Necia!!!! I miss stitching with you :( I can totally understand why the kids have not made any videos lately, lol. What a year. But tell them I said hi.
What a nice update of all your projects! I just love to watch your videos as they put me at ease as I'm stitching away on my square for the day. What a delight! Thanks for posting. You are motoring right along on the Stitch in Time Shelf. I have another square to finish on mine and I'll snap a pic to show you my progress. I'm liking the book bindings and next row should reveal what one is entitled. Weeee! Way to go Brenda on your new knitting shawl! I started one last year that has a border piece that you knit along the edge as you go and never having done something like that, I laid it aside. I think I can envision it much better now that a year has gone by so there is always a chance I will pick it up this winter to give it another and more informed shot. I knit socks and last year did a lot of them but stopped just short of jumping into the "Gobb Stopper." Right out of Willy Wonka for sure! I'm very hopeful of doing a pair this year and if I get 'em done, I will definitely send you a funny picture. :) Best wishes on your great success with your triangle shawl and my it be just the thing at school.
Thank You Lilia!!! Yes, I hope you pull out your shawl this winter and try again :) I am still enjoying working on mine :) And yes, you will definitely have to send me a picture of the socks!!
Wonderful flosstube!! Loved all your kits that your hopefully start. That game board was so pretty! Thanks for the mention and hope you enjoy the bag and floss friend. There are tons of bag makers now that it’s hard to choose from!! Hugs 🤗
Thank You Victoria!!! You are one of the flosstubes I watch regularly, you always cheer me up. And I am so glad I got to meet you in person at Stitch-Con. Funny story--my office mate listens to a radio station that does a mystery sound contest every day. They had the same mystery sound for about six weeks, and nobody could guess it. We were all trying to figure it out at work, and would talk about it at least once a day and try and come up with ideas of what it could be. Someone finally called in and guessed it--it was a school bus door opening!!!!!! I laughed and laughed. I rode the school bus almost my whole life from kindergarten to 10th grade, and I work at a school for pete's sake and I am often outside after school talking to the bus drivers, and we couldn't guess it!!!! LOL
Congratulations on two years! Love seeing all your projects. I know I am a process cross stitcher (although I usually have plans in my head for fully finishing projects), but I never realized that, like you, I am a project knitter. Thanks, Brenda.
Hi Brenda, there is a conversion chart in sulky.com. If you go to Products --> Thread --> Color Conversion and Cross Reference you can see DMC as one of the choices.
Love your SALs. Every time I see your Modern Folk Embroidery I both wish I’d done it but also know I would not have kept up as I behind in the L&T one. Must get onto it. Your new normal is just gorgeous. Hitchhiker is a shawl I’ve often thought of knitting. Will enjoy seeing your progress in your pretty colour choice. Happy knitting and stitching
Brenda I am so new at cross stitch and have been asking so many questions to so many floss tubers. This is the first time I heard my name on you tube. So funny. Thank you so much!!! You are so natural and very fun to watch and informative. Thank you again. Barbara Media Pa.
Thank You Barbara! And I am glad I shouted you out :) I love the flosstube community and that I can ask questions to other flosstubers. I learn so much too!
Woohoo to 2 years of floss tube! Those patterns you printed off the Crossstitcher magazine, several are by Emma Congdon of Stitchrovia. I have them in my stash as well as i love how she uses colours. Love all your progress on your projects. Take care and I hope to see Catherine soon 😘
Thank you Viv!!! I started to wonder if they were by her when I was showing them. That was why I stopped to see if I could see the designer name. Totally makes sense, thanks for letting me know!! I am sure it says in the magazine, I just didn't print the page with that on it, lol.
Brenda, congratulations on 2 years! I can’t believe it’s been that long. I have watched from the beginning. I’ve always been impressed by your organization and how much you accomplish. I have Sampler Gameboard hanging above my stitching chair, it really was a fun piece to do and I love seeing other people working on it. I love your large sampler pieces especially. Thanks for making all of the wonderful videos, you are an inspiration. Xoxo Susan
Couldn’t work out why my flosstube list was pulling up a 2 yr old episode. Then worked it out. LOL. Also can’t believe I have been watching you for 2 years. Love it when your new flosstube pops up. . I have just discovered the 30 wt and think it’s about the same as one strand DMC. Tested it out on 18ct Aida and liked it. I think I will use it on 22ct and will be perfect. In our Spotlight store they stock more colours in the 30 wt which is how I discovered it Had to stop video to comment
It makes me so happy that you stitch from CrossStitcher as I love that magazine. They have such wonderful designs! When I saw the Carolyn manning design, and it being repetitive, I immediately thought that I think that will be the Boss daughter birthday gift for you next year. Lol. :)
Hi Laura! So glad to hear I am not the only ones that loves that magazine, lol!! And I am laughing, I hope poor Catherine does not have to work on my CM piece, lol!!! But it is totally possible, lol!!!
Jan Hicks is stitching Beachcomber. It's really beautiful. I think she showed her progress in her last video (just done like a day ago). All of your projects are beautiful, and I wish I was as organized as you are. Alas, I am not and that's okay with my little brain. I can't get too overwhelmed or I get frantic and don't accomplish anything.
Groaning, nooooooo!!!!! LOL, I actually gave in last night and finally decided I will start BeachComber on Nov 1 and join Stacy's SAL on 911stitcher facebook group :) yay!!! And thanks for being one of the people who nudged me in that direction, lol.
I've really enjoyed your "visits" over the past two years. One special memory is you explaining how you make your Elan lap frame hold a Qsnap without sagging. I've been particularly grateful for that hint, and it does work for me, too.
I enjoy watching your videos and seeing your beautiful projects. Congratulations on two years, I’ve just been making videos for a few months. I’m from SE Idaho so It’s nice to see some semi local stitchers. Hopefully I get to meet some of you at StitchWest sometime. - Wendy
the detail in your stitching shelf is amazing. all your pieces are beautiful.you enabled me to buy sulky. i am going to use solid black and blendables to match on 40ct white linen for pandemic and for the new normal. the opposite on blackbird linen with solid white and blendables. will be fun
Wonderful for 2 years! I started stitching back in January of this year, and you were one of the first Tubers i found. Also, you've enabled me into the Sulky floss...Started Krozwyrd by Long Dog with the Deep Jewels colorway. Loving it!
Happy Flossyday Brenda! It's your distant Johnson cousin. I always enjoy your videos. Your stitching is beautiful and I always enjoy seeing what you are working on!!! 😁🏜️🌅
Good evening Brenda, wonderful accomplishment on reaching 2 years on flosstube. I live vicariously through you with your variety of WIPS. I stitch a lot, but it is usually on one project at a time. I, too, stitch for the love of the process. I think Pandemic will be started soon. When you use the sulky blended thread do you stitch one x at a time? Becky C ( your stitch twin)
Hi Stitch Twin Becky!!! And happy to hear from another process stitcher :) Which makes sense since we are stitch twins, lol. Yes, I cross one x at a time when I use any variegated thread, because I love the variation in the colors to show up. You can do it the other way where you go all the way down the row and then cross when you come back, it is still beautiful, it will just be a different kind of a "tweedy" look. Do whatever you like the best :)
Enjoyed catching up with you. Lots of beautiful stitching, loving New Normal. I have done a test swatch with the 30 weight Sulky on an undyed 20 count aida and it looks like the same coverage as 1 strand of DMC, maybe a little lighter. I typically stitch 2 strands on 14 count and 1 on 20 or 22 count. My elbow won't let me stitch 2 strands on 16 count so trying it on a higher count would not work for me so I have become less concerned with a full full coverage. I guess you wouldn't like the coverage on 20 count but maybe worth a try on something higher. I am not starting my LDS Anzac until 1st January and am waiting for my first hand dyed fabric (which may be slightly tighter) so will be able to show you more then. Enjoy your stitching. X
Thank You Caroline!!! I finally bought a spool at JoAnns the other day to try it out. I loved hearing what you thought about it. And you are smart to be nice to your elbow and just stitch with fewer strands on lower count. I would do the same in that situation :) I hope you enjoy stitching on hand dyed as much as I do, and your new start on Jan 1 sounds so fun!!
I have ordered the City of Romance and Star of Wonder charts. When they arrive I'll haul them down the rabbit hole to join all the rest I've purchased recently. I am getting so excited about Stitch Maynia and have earmarked some possibilities for that. As my birthday is the 21st May I've chosen a piece to start for that date. Also, here in Shetland on the last Tuesday in January the islands celebrate an occasion called Up-Helly-AA. This is a festival to mark the end of winter and the evening culminates in burning a hand constructed Viking longship . Well, guess what! Yes, I've found a lovely longship chart which I'll start on 26th January. I'm hoping my hubby is going to buy me the 'Pandemic' chart for Christmas which I'll start on the 1st of January. See what you've started???? Only kidding!! Look forward to your next video.
LOL Kate, it sounds like we have similar great taste in charts!!! I love your plans for Maynia and Up-Helly-AA day!!! Any festival to mark the end of winter, and more sun sounds wonderful to me :) I so enjoy celebrating special days with cross stitch fun :)
Yay for two years. Loved hearing about your rotation and very impressed you have finished all of your WIPs from then. Always lovely to see your pieces.
Love catching up with you and your WIPs Brenda ❤️❤️. I too feel like I need to finish tons of projects before the clock strikes midnight on January 1st. Why? 🤷♀️. But the end of the year I want finishes. I call it finish it November and December. I need to try sulky....I’m glad to hear you like it on 40 count. I love all the variegated color options they have but I didn’t know they had a color card. I’ll need to get one. I use my DMC one all the time and it makes it so easy to do conversions and substitutions with what you have on hand. Hope you are well and catch up with you soon ❤️
Hello Amy!!!! I was just watching you the other day, it felt like I had a real visit with you, lol! I have really been enjoying the Sulky threads, especially on large one color projects, or pieces with large blocks of one color. I am so excited to have my new color cards, I have no idea why I waited to long to buy one!!!
Brenda!!!!! I am so sad about stitch west this year I wish I could have seen you again! And everyone! I made a flosstube channel recently to be able to talk to everyone since we can’t this year 😂. I like the idea of having a monthly focus piece, I may institute that next year to see more progress on more projects!
Hi Jordan!!!!! I sooo agree, I am so sad as well :( But I am so excited you started making videos!!! I am adding you to my watchlist today, and I can't wait :) Yay!!
Loved your video, was going to put in tons of comments but one made me laugh. The caroline manning when you said will see if the colours make it keep your interest, made me immediately thing yea Catherine will say okay mum that’s your bday mothers day item! 😉 I keep wondering if I could do a so many mins routine... hmm. Oh well, have a great back to school day.
Monica Ferris came to your stitching event to speak?! How lucky are you! I'm very jealous! I know that's bad, but I can't help it. Have you read her books. I've got them all and have read them several times over the years. Thanks for brightening my day with that. Patty
Hi Patty!!! I loved hearing her speak, and yes I have read most of her her books as well. It was funny that they had her as the speaker, since she is not a stitcher, lol. They always cheer me up, lol!! I need to check and see if there are new ones I haven't read yet!! I haven't checked in a few years.
It took me two years apparently to move from only watching you, to other flosstubers as well xD Though still enjoy this and love how calm your voice is
Congrats on your anniversary and all your progress. Tried to use your link to The Brass Button. Could not find anything on Etsy or actually anywhere on that shop. If you find an update, please advise!
Thank You Mollie!! If you go to Etsy and do a search for "TheBrassButtonShop" all one word, it should come up. Etsy does not make it very easy to search for shop names!! www.etsy.com/shop/TheBrassButtonShop?ref=usf_2020
Happy 2 year anniversary. I've been watching since early this year, and just love your stitching. My favorite is Lost No More, and I was lucky enough to find a kit that I hope to start after Christmas.
The amount of time you stitch daily is totally goals for me! 🤣. I graduate with my BA in Dec and start my MA the next month! In 5 years my youngest will be 11 so hopefully I'll be done with school too by then! And alllll the stitchy hours 😍
Hi Amy!! Wow, school and children at home, that is BUSY!!!!!! I have definitely had lest amount of time to stitch in different phases of my life, but each phase has it's blessings. Congrats on the BA, and best wishes for your MA program!!!
Hi Brenda, Thanks for 2 years of Flosstube videos. I've enjoyed them all, and I've shared your video about your stands and how you load a Q Snap countless times, paying it forward in thanks for the first time I watched it. Back then I was having trouble with my own Q Snaps slipping, and it helped me quite a bit. I'm wondering if you're aware of any FaceBook groups that are about posting our monthly rotation/goals, and reporting our progress. I'm not looking for prompts and accountability (challenge groups) in 2021 because I want to focus on specific WIPs I'm looking to finish (with a few starts), and don't want to have to fit my plans into the prompts. I'm looking for stitchers like me, who have a plan, and want some outside encouragement to keep our motivation strong. Any ideas?
That sounds like a great plan!! I love that you are trying to get some projects done. I don't know of any off the top of my head. You could do a search for "cross stitch group rotation" or something like that. Or maybe you should start your own group!! I bet there are others out there who would be interested. I will try and remember to ask on my next video and see if anyone knows of any already out there :)
Happy floss anniversary, I only found you about 6 months ago. I have enjoyed every minute, I like your work, your spirit just all of it. You do great knitting too.
Happy Flossaversary! I was wondering whatever happened to the magnet board, and it appeared today. Congratulations on all your progress. I've got a few Carolyn Manning designs, but I don't think I will be starting any until next year.
Thank You Sarah!! So glad I showed the magnet board then, lol!! I was having the same thought, "hmmm, I haven't showed the magnet board in quite a while".
I found a place on Ebay that sells Lost No More, just the chart. You can get it either as a hard copy or a PDF. The store is called dawhuajac. There are many other religious charts also. I don't think they're just Greg Olsen. But, that way, it won't cost $100.00 or more to get the Dimensions kit.
Happy flossiversary! I think I’ve watched you from the beginning and am so thankful that we met and became friends! Yay for Autumn Cat! Yet another thing we can SAL 😻. Happy to enable. And you’ll be happy to know you also enabled me to purchase a Project Minder from RagTagQuiltArt - does that make us codependent? Nice to spend time with you my friend and to see all of your lovely stitching. See you tomorrow!
oh my goodness that 3 Kings is so pretty i am so starting my own magnet board i have vowed to get better organized so that i can finsh more.... GREAT IDEA
Groaning, nooooooo!!!!! LOL, I actually gave in last night and finally decided I will start BeachComber on Nov 1 and join Stacy's SAL :) yay!!! And thanks for being one of the people who nudged me in that direction, lol.
Thank You Les! It is called "Fun Every Day Perpetual Calendar" and is by SamSarah Designs. It comes in 12 different leaflets, and you have to buy all 12 leaflets to make all the calendar pieces that you need. My Sister-in-law and I shared the patterns, she bought six and I bought six and then we traded when we finished each one. You can still buy the wire calendar holder at ackfeldwire.com or usually 123stitch.com has it as well.
Happy Sunday Brenda! I am watching your channel while I stitch because I really enjoy your content. I have made it to is #30 and you were working on Morning has Broken and you mentioned that it is all specialty stitches. For a beginner do you believe a piece like the twist band sampler is a good starting point for learning specialty stitches? Or a piece like Morning has Broken? If not, do you have any suggestions? Love your channel
Thank You Mary!! Yes, I think Twisted Band Sampler would be a great way to learn specialty stitches. It is very large, and will take a while, but it has a LOT of different specialty stitches you could learn. The diagrams are excellent and show you exactly how to do them. The designer "Drawn Thread" patterns also usually have a few specialty stitches in each pattern, and are smaller if you want to just get your feet wet. The Morning Has Broken piece was a class piece and was meant to be taught in 2 or 3 day class setting. In the class the teacher goes through the whole sampler and explains anything that might be difficult, and shows you how to do each specialty stitch, and has you practice the stitches on a doodle cloth. That piece is by Catherine Theron, and you can only purchase it if you take the class from her. But taking a class like that would also be a great way to learn how to do some specialty stitches. Catherine Theron has a website (therontraditions.com) that shows her teaching schedule for the upcoming year, and I think someone said she might be doing some online classes this year. Also, you local EGA chapter, or the EGA website (EGAUSA.org) (Embroidery Guild of America) could give you information on regional and national seminars you could attend to take classes. And sometimes a local EGA chapter will pay to have a teacher come and teach a class to the local chapter.
Happy anniversary!! I found you a few months ago and I've been watching back episodes of your videos. I love them. I'm trying to find 'Pandemic' but haven't found it yet. I love your peacefulness. It's good therapy for me!! Can I ask which church you are affiliated with? You don't have to say if you don't want to. Love your family.
Thank You Kate!!! I hope you found Pandemic, it is sold by many different cross stitch shops and online stores. And Thank You Kristi for jumping in and answering!!! It has taken me a bit to get to my comments :) I don't mind telling you which Church I belong to at all :) It is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Thank you Brenda. I’m curious about the game board piece, did you turn it the other way round to stitch the upside down motifs? Your videos really brighten my day x
Thank You Mandy! Gosh, that was so long ago I can't remember!!!! LOL. Although I know I HATE to stitch on a piece upside down, so I wouldn't be surprised if I did.
Oh noooooo!!! Yes, that SAL that Stacy started finally pushed me right over the edge and I started BeachComber!! LOL. Because I just really needed another WIP! But I am thoroughly enjoying it :) I recently bought a bag from you, the red one with words all over over and the extra pocket inside. I LOVE it!!!!!!! My "New Normal" piece went right in it, a few minutes after I opened it, lol. I will so definitely be showing it on my next video and will tell everyone how fabulous it is :) My friend Sharon Wurm is the one who told me about your bags. I'm so glad she did!!!
@@Handworkmaniac I’m so glad you liked the bag! I love the extra pocket. I have put my shop on pause for a while but I am using my bags as giveaways on my flosstube and I put a tutorial up as well.
Happy Flossaversary Brenda. Fun video. I watch probably All those flosstubes and more! For one who doesn't make videos I watch alot! I will look up the 2 youtubes you mentioned that aren't xs. I watch a lot of you tube thats not xs. I watch mortition ones🤪they showed up and I was curious actually very interesting. And a couple from Japan like simple life in Japan very interesting. So of the floss felt holders which one did you like best? I'd like one maybe the flat one med. Size or one that folded and hooked? I have one of the dmc floss cards books I use it alot.even sometimes 123 will say fabric resembles this color floss very very handy I use it all the time. This turned out long.....
Hi MaryJo!!!!! Mortition ones??????? Wow, lol, that does sound interesting!!! Gosh, I really like all of the floss holders, they each have their pros and cons. I think I will try all of them in different projects and will let you know later what my thoughts are :) And I SO love that 123 stitch will give you the DMC equivalent of a fabric, I use that all the time too!!
Hi Brenda, Greetings from Utah County also. I love your videos. What are the curved green quilting clips you are using on your q-snap, for your Pandemic WIP? I'm curious to know their name (sorry, I couldn't make the item name out) and where to find them. Thank you!
Thank You Sara! And hello neighbor!!! Isn't this a lovely Fall Saturday!! Sorry, I should have spelled the word!! It was confusing to me the first time I heard of them too. They are just called quilting "peels", and you can buy them on Amazon or anywhere that sells quilting supplies. And some cross stitch stores carry them as well. They were originally made to put around a spool of thread to keep it from unravelling I think.
🤗 Happy Two Year Flossiversary Brenda! Always enjoy spending time with you. Take care.
Thank You Carlene!
Congratulations on two years on Flosstube. I always enjoy watching!!
Thank You Darlene!
Thank You Cheryl! I totally agree, the channels I enjoy watching are calm and non-controversial. A much needed break these days :)
Congratulations on 2 years! Thanks for showing your beautiful projects
Thank You!!
Thank You!!! You are so sweet :)
Congratulations on your two year anniversary on flosstube! I love your videos and seeing your beautiful stitching. Love all your projects and the way you organized your wips and how you schedule your time on them. Love American Sampler. The silks are gorgeous as is your stitching.
Thank You Bee!!
Thank You Liz! Such kind words :)
What a wonderful video!!!! I absolutely loved seeing your stitching schedule and hearing about your routine! So many beautiful WIPS!!!! you have definitely enabled some purchases for me! 😊😊
Thank You Mely!! And always happy to enable, lol!
Thank You Tracy!!! And my bank account is suffering as well, lol!
Happy 2 year anniversary. My son's birthday is the 19th so I should now remember this date. I love seeing your organization, especially how you plan your rotation. You were the inspiration for some of my planning.
Thank You Ann!!! So glad to hear of someone else who like to organize their stitching, lol :)
Thank You Jenny!!! I love your videos :) You always make me want to pull out one of my Long Dogs and get stitching on it!!
Enjoyed the visit while stitching!
Thanks, Kim T
Thank You Kim!!!!!
Congratulations Brenda, I have been watching your videos for a long time now, enjoy seeing all your projects. And getting to see Boss and Bossy Daughter.. Looking forward to more years of stitching.. Again congratulations 2 years and counting... Happy Stitching!!
Thank You Joy!!
Such beautiful projects. Beautiful haul and thanks for the enabling. Blessings
Thank You!! Always happy to enable, lol!
Thank you so much for sharing your time and talents with us. Have a great month.
Thank You Cindy!!
Happy Anniversary...love your 1 day set up and that you found the shirt you where wearing last year, so funny.....great stitch...take care and be safe
Thank You Nannett!! I am kind of surprised I still had the shirt and it sill fit me, lol!
Congratulations! So glad I found you on here. I enjoy all your videos! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank You :)
Time just flew by once again while watching your wonderful video and stitching on my project 😊 Two years on FlossTube, congrats!! I love seeing constant progress on all your gorgeous WIPs, so inspiring for my own stitching progress, as well. Thank you!
Thank You!!
All the best,
Kat
Thank You Kat!!! LOL, yep a Long Dog Spree!!! I only use my larger q-snaps when I am beading, and they are definitely more awkward without the floor stand. And I do love the wooden hoops on small ornaments that don't fit well in an 8 x 8 q-snap. And goodness, magnet boards are cheap, you should get one!!! Or may just make magnets and put them on the fridge door!! Our front door and back doors are also made of metal and my grandkids put magnets on them as well.
Congratulations on 2 years with Flosstube Brenda. Always enjoy watching and being enabled by you. 🤭😂
Thank You Janette!!
Thank You S.!!!!! I would have to say that Flosstube is my #1 enabler as well!!!
Thank You Pauline! And thank you for letting me know it made sense :) Sometimes I wonder if I am making any sense at all!
Congratulations on your two year Flosstube anniversary - I love your videos! Thank you for taking the time to make them. You always stitch on such beautiful pieces and I have been enabled more than once by your work! It was good to get some ideas for new Flosstubers to watch although I already have a long list of favourites!
Thank You Lynette!
I always love watching your videos! Congratulations on your anniversary!
Thank You Kristy!
Happy 2 year anniversary. Your stitching amazes me. You are so very talented and I look forward to your videos. Good luck with the catching up😀😀
Thank You Paulette!
Well, happy flossiversary. You are a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing your time, talent, and knowledge with us.
Thank You Patti!
Congratulations on two years! I have been watching from the start and enjoyed everyone!
Thank You Diane!
Congratulations on your 2 years!! You are truly an inspiration and an incredible stitcher. Thank you for being so adventurous. 😍🥰
Thank You Laura!
Thank You Nan!! Happy to meet another project knitter, lol!!!
Your color mastery is so inspiring.
Thank You Teresa :)
Hi Brenda, there is a conversion chart in sulky.com. If you go to Products --> Thread --> Color Conversion and Cross Reference you can see DMC as one of the choices.
Thank You Aubrey!!! I did not know that! :)
Happy Two Year Anniversary. Enjoyed all your videos and your beautiful work.
Thank You Rita!!
Happy Flossiversary Brenda! Thanks for two years of stitch fun, enabling and laughter!
Thank You Kaye!!
Your Kringles WIP is beautiful and has totally enabled me 😍 wonderful stitching thank you for sharing
Thank You Susan!! I just got the October room done on Kringles last night, yay!!!
Thank You Lynette!! I bet your L&T is gorgeous!!!

Thank you for going through your stitching routine. I can't wait to be an empty-nester (my kids are in high school)!
You are welcome, and you are so close!!! LOL
Brenda
I am so new at cross stitch and have been asking so many questions to so many floss tubers. This is the first time I heard my name on you tube. So funny.
Thank you so much!!! You are so natural and very fun to watch and informative.
Thank you again.
Barbara
Media Pa.
Thank You Barbara! And I am glad I shouted you out :) I love the flosstube community and that I can ask questions to other flosstubers. I learn so much too!
Happy Flosstube Birthday! Love your channel, my taste in xstitch is very similar to mine.
Thank You Kim!!!! So happy to meet a stitcher with great taste, lol!!!
Nice to see you, no bros talk today lol, happy floss anniversary! Cool knitting
Hi Jamie!!! I am falling down on the job of saying his name!!!
Xoxo Susan
Thank You Susan!!! Ohhh, I get your Sampler Gameboard is just lovely. I need to get mine hung up.
Thank You Lynette!!! I just bought some 30 wt, I will have to try it out :)
I'm so glad it worked for you!!!! Yay!
I enjoy watching your videos and seeing your beautiful projects. Congratulations on two years, I’ve just been making videos for a few months. I’m from SE Idaho so It’s nice to see some semi local stitchers. Hopefully I get to meet some of you at StitchWest sometime. - Wendy
Thank You Wendy!!! Yes, I really hope we can meet at StitchWest sometime :) That would be so fun.
the detail in your stitching shelf is amazing. all your pieces are beautiful.you enabled me to buy sulky. i am going to use solid black and blendables to match on 40ct white linen for pandemic and for the new normal. the opposite on blackbird linen with solid white and blendables. will be fun
Ohhhh, those will be soooo gorgeous!!!! Wow!
Wonderful for 2 years! I started stitching back in January of this year, and you were one of the first Tubers i found. Also, you've enabled me into the Sulky floss...Started Krozwyrd by Long Dog with the Deep Jewels colorway. Loving it!
Thank You!! Wow, that sounds gorgeous!!!
Always love seeing your beautiful stitching. Haul was super. Slacking up mentioning Walters name. Lol. Thanks for sharing.
Thank You!!! Laughing, yes I need to up my mentions of Retlaw for sure!!! LOL
Happy Flossyday Brenda! It's your distant Johnson cousin. I always enjoy your videos. Your stitching is beautiful and I always enjoy seeing what you are working on!!! 😁🏜️🌅
Hello Cousin, lol!!!! Thank You :)
Happy anniversary. I have enjoyed every single visit.
Thank You Teresa!
Great video. Love to see your projects
Thank You Jacqueline!
@@Handworkmaniac I would love to hear what you think of the thread, must do my test piece as my fabric has now arrived. Xxx
Thank You Livia!
Thank YOU, Brenda! Love your flosstubes! Karen of Prom Queen Stitcher 🍁.
Thank You Karen!!!
Happy flosstube anniversary loved seeing all your WIP’s
Thank You!!!
Laughing!!! I am hoping it won't end up on Catherine's to do list, but who knows, lol!!
@@Handworkmaniac I think she "retired" that series some years ago. I haven't checked to see if she's done anything new since then. Take care.
Love watching you girl ♥️♥️
Thank You Candice!!
Congratulations on a job well done! Your videos are so interesting.
Thank You Susan!
It took me two years apparently to move from only watching you, to other flosstubers as well xD Though still enjoy this and love how calm your voice is
Thank You Helen!!! That is very sweet :)
😍🤩🤗 happy flossaversary!
Thank You Rebecca!!
Happy 2 year anniversary. I've been watching since early this year, and just love your stitching. My favorite is Lost No More, and I was lucky enough to find a kit that I hope to start after Christmas.
Thank You Kathy! And yay!!! So glad you found one :)
A tip : watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Benson Miguel yup, been using Flixzone for since november myself :)
@Benson Miguel definitely, I have been watching on Flixzone for since december myself :)
@@Handworkmaniac thank you so much!
Hi Brenda,
Thanks for 2 years of Flosstube videos.
Thank You Patti!
Congratulations on 2 years!
Thank You Sandra!
Thank You Melanie, that is a great tip!!!!
Thank You Sharon :) And yes, apparently we are definitely codependent, lol!!! Have fun on your trip!!!
Hope all is okay with you and your family. Hoping you'll have time to do a video soon as I need a fix lol. Take care🤗
LOL, thank you Angela!! You helped me get motivated to get it done :)
Happy anniversary! 🍁🍂🍁
Thank You Diane!
oh my goodness that 3 Kings is so pretty
i am so starting my own magnet board i have vowed to get better organized so that i can finsh more.... GREAT IDEA
Hi Jessa! I love my magnet board, I hope you enjoy it too :)
Congratulations on 2nd year !
Thank You Rhonda!
They are having a SAL on Carolyn Manning Facebook page starting on Nov. 1st. I just love her patterns!
Groaning, nooooooo!!!!! LOL, I actually gave in last night and finally decided I will start BeachComber on Nov 1 and join Stacy's SAL :) yay!!! And thanks for being one of the people who nudged me in that direction, lol.
I so admire your stitching organization! Can you tell me what the name of the calendar behind you is?
Thank You Les! It is called "Fun Every Day Perpetual Calendar" and is by SamSarah Designs. It comes in 12 different leaflets, and you have to buy all 12 leaflets to make all the calendar pieces that you need. My Sister-in-law and I shared the patterns, she bought six and I bought six and then we traded when we finished each one. You can still buy the wire calendar holder at ackfeldwire.com or usually 123stitch.com has it as well.
Wonderful video!
Thank You!
Pandemic is made by Long Dog Sampler.
@@kristimartin3427 Thank you so much for that! :)
Stitching 911 is starting a Carolyn Manning SAL I think they are starting in November. That would give you a couple of weeks before starting.
@@Handworkmaniac Thanks so much for the info on those clever little helpers.
