- Piano Theme/intro from the TV-series Stargate Universe in Synthesia. Season1.
I wasn't happy with the first one, so I decided to make a second version more true to the original.
Still not perfect, but in my opinion, better.
Added some effects with FL Studio, so this isn't really a tutorial.
Audio made in FL studio, video made with Fraps in Synthesia.
Audio and video re-synced in Vegas Pro.
Let me know what you think, and please tell me how I can make it better.

Wonderful, thanks for your effort. It's so sad that this score didn't get released. Like the show it hadn't had the treatment it deserved

+TheFleming98 Indeed. Weak scripted SG:1 got 10 seasons, children version Atlantis got 5... the superior scripted SG:U got 2. Like Captain Tightpants says: The good ones get cancelled.
+honsou1978dk I love both SG1 and Atlantis but SGU felt like it was finally dragging everything into the 21st century. Shame most series were being axed at the time due to writers strikes :/

SGU final downfall was due to MGM going bankrupt. but the writers strike didn't help things.
They really should make all the songs from SGU official. It would make a great album and I would buy it! :) Can you send me the MIDI please. Much appreciated.

It's not called neither Dialing Earth nor Countdown to Destiny. Not officially. Those are names made by fans.
The program used to visualize the piano is called Synthesia.

Thanks. I'm actually really please with the end result.
I've uploaded the midi file in the description. Since it's made in FL Studio, the velocity isn't exactly as is should be, so it's mostly for guidance. I also tried to make a pdf sheet with Sibelius, but it didn't work out too well. Let me know if you want it though.

As far as I know, there are no official soundtrack to SGU. So this has no name. It was used in the beginning in some episodes throughout the end of s1 and beginning of s2 i think.

from 0:24 and by removing or lower the blue notes you can make a pretty nice ringtone!

*clearsthroat, You can very much blame syfy for the cancellation. MGM didn't pitch it well to other chanels, but Syfy is still very much to blame for cancelling it on their network, and untimately bears a pretty big responsibility in the total cancellation of the series.

if you want some inspiration, I think 'Countdown to Destiny' is probably the best bit of music to come out of Stargate Universe. Particularly around the two minute mark. Swoopy energy abounds!

Thanks for the video and for the first, too. I tried to write down the notes of the first video and I tried to play it on my piano. It is very good and I think that the second version is more true to the original, too. I think I will try in the next few days to play the second one on my piano, too.

+MultiPureskill "of course"? I just thought a PIANO tutorial would only include piano. I agree this version SOUNDS better but in a tutorial or play-along I would expect to hear the instrument I'm suppose to learn to play and not a whole orchestra.
