Nicely done! Just a quick question, have you changed your drl/high beam to LEDs? I have an elite trim too and it's so hard to replace that bulb because of the bulk of the HID case. Is it possible to replace it without removing the headlight? Thanks.
Thank you for sharing how to upgrade the lights to ugly orange to LED. Also for showing a better engine air filter to change to. Your video helped me alot since I am a new owner of a used 2011 Honda Odyssey EXL -RES.
Dennis VJC --- great to hear you are a new fellow Odyssey owner! I hope you love yours as much as I do, it's a great van especially with these few and simple modifications!
Since you are using a metal screw driver, you run the risk of shorting out the original light and fuse. I know. I did it twice!! LOL Those orange plastic pry bars work really well. My 2006 Odyssey original and LED bulbs are long and cylindric so you gotta improvise, but this video is very accurate.
...thanks for the great job....but regarding these white turn signals, we should always carefully advise viewers to check your local laws for permitted running lights or turn signal colors, whether deep blue, red or amber/ yellow and white...some very blue front and rear lights might be prohibited, and pure white lights in the turn signals might likely not be permitted,...but would be totally acceptable in all our interior lamps, headlamps, fog lamps, back up and license plate lights...keep up the good work..
LR VANALLEN - good point, yes I️ did forget to mention that specifically. Definitely good idea to check with local authorities depending where you live. Obviously blue and red on the exterior will be illegal everywhere I️ assume, since those are reserved for emergency vehicles.
How are the LEDs holding up? Is everything current in the description because I want to replace all interior stock to white LEDs plus the rear trunk bulbs that illuminate the rear license plate.
You would need to install a resistor to have the blinkers not flash super fast due to the low wattage of leds vs incandescent. I haven't done it myself, but that's what is needed
Jason Alexander --- glad to hear it wasn't just me, I also definitely prefer buying privately via Craigslist or other places. It's either the sales side or the service side after the deal is completed....somethings always go wrong and they won't help at all. And they all state they have the BEST "after the sale" service/relations. Lol
Jealous Lawn Care no problem, I loved your video and everything how you explained it seems pretty easy. I hope. Maybe you can make a new video of how to replace the fog lights then 😉
Turbo Joe304 - on my Odyssey they came with HIDS already on the elite model, but if yours are not hids from the factory then yes you will need a ballast / hid kit. I have a video on this when I did my Honda Accord (should be similar install, just a different bulb #). Here's the link : ruclips.net/video/_iV_CxSn0qc/видео.html
Great video! Btw Where did you use the 4smd led? ‘Coz it shows on the link you provided and on the video you keep on saying the 5smd. And also do you have the type of bulb for the vanity mirrors?
Actually I didn't use the 4smd led on my odyssey, I used it on my Maxima but kept the link for reference just in case someone wanted a bulb "not as" bright as the 5smd leds (best example would be the license plate bulbs or in my Maxima I used them for my footwells for a light blue glow). Funny you should ask about the vanity mirrors, because just after I finished this video my wife asked me why I didn't change the vanities. I don't use them much and she told me that's the first thing she would want changed to add better lighting. lol Can never have enough lights in a mirror I guess. The vanities are a simple change (4 bulbs total, 2 for each side), just get a small screwdriver and pop out the lens cover from the bottom and it will pivot for installation. I updated the description with a link for the led bulbs I used as well. Here's the info: Vanity light bulb LED - goo.gl/Qv6cZP
Jealous Lawn Care Me too I only flip that if too much sunlight is hitting my eyes but aside from that I rarely open the vanity mirrors lol mostly ladies thing hahaha. Cheers brother!
I know im 4 months late but I just got a 2019 odyssey and changed the fog lights this morning just take the 2 screws in the wheel weld and your hand will fit fine mine are big and i got it done
Carlos Gomez -- true, but the reverse lights are definitely a much brighter white than anything the turn signals could use. Still a good point though...
@@JealousLawnCare as far as I know of, led bulbs are brighter but only produce lesser watts than the halogens. You will defeat the purpose when you will install led bulbs with higher watts than stock halogens. Too much glare and voltage issues are expected.
MB Legend -- yes that is correct, with leds they require less power used but will generate the same light output (i was confused what you meant when you said "power")
@@JealousLawnCare oh my apologies. I should have stated watts. Thanks for the nice vid. One last thing, how's the high beam of the led compared with the halogen?
@@JealousLawnCare hey yes i just installed led lights in the back seats and i have the same issue where it’s like the led bulb is too big for the cover, so you have to push it kinda hard for the light to turn on, 2012 honda odyssey ex
Can you send me the link for the headlight, high beam, low beam and the fog light, i need all of them LED, from where can I get them, send me the link please.
Disappointed in the rear map lights because the LED’s are too big so you can’t push the lens in to turn the light on/off. Looks like that’s how it is in your video too. Edit - ok it actually does work but you have to push pretty hard and you don’t get the positive clicking feel like you do with the stock bulbs. I found out that they do manufacture LEDs that will fit in these rear map fixtures correctly. They are call low profile T10 bulbs.
Tyler Downs -- i actually didn't even notice any difference in changing the rear maps (easier/harder). These are common map bulbs I've installed for several cars and haven't seen any fitment issues yet to be honest. At least they worked out for you in the end with a little pushing.
Desmond Mays -- for the headlights / highbeams I've never changed those to LED (only to hid), i would assume you might need some type of resistor to compensate for the difference in lower voltage.
Pratik Prajapati -- I checked and it looks like your Odyssey uses the same bulbs as what I showed here in the description. You may have an extra bulb though for your center console compartment though. This will definitely not void any warranty
Tommy Pham -- it's a pain, I just pulled out the fuse which i did because I enjoy the nice clean look without any drls. See my video here for reference : ruclips.net/video/EfooMpfdAoA/видео.html
Jealous Lawn Care all good there should be a relay you can replace to support the led bulbs as signals so you don’t have to damage stock harness with resisters. Ill let you know when i figure it out thanks
Orange hazard/signal lights meant to be orange because of the visibility night time, day time and lots of fog so no need to change them beacause of the looks over safety thanks just my own opinion.
Hey, i want blue led lights but not those bright ones, are there any led blue headlights n fogs lights thats not so bright but are the regular range as stock lights?
If you want more blue in your hids/fogs just go with a higher # of "K" when ordering. I usually recommend ~5,000K for white light, but for a more blueish color I'd say get ~7,000K.
Yes, but in general it would be very hard to find a blueish light to match the color output of a whiteish light simply due to the fact that white shines more than blue. So you will have less light overall the bluer you go. Yellow (~3,000K) is about the brightest light for output, which is why you see it often on fog lights, because if people are using their fogs generally its because they need more light.
SG -- lol you have an accord, but found this video of my Odyssey? That's funny because I actually have a video also on my 2008 Accord changing the lights as well. 2 part videos, but all the bulb info is in the video descriptions and can order them in 8000K as well.
