    This vid was a grood find! I think you and your guest really did a good job. I have multiple ideas that are still evolving, so it was great to hear the advice that if you feel weary, take a break and work on something else for a while. I have found that break gave me a chance to develop the other ideas and when I come back I can move even further forward. I draw and write, but one inspiration doesn't always wait on the other. Keep the vids coming if you can! Even if you didn't start out with a massive amount of folks at the time, others like me will stumble across your wisdom when we seek it!

    So that's done... Mixed results, but I really feel confident about what to do for next time. Gosh - teaching online to a live, any sort of people, kind of audience is nerve wracking (Which I am sure is visible in the video) I felt like a 1st year teacher all over again. I think that I get what to for next time. Thanks for Ian Pike and Phil Wagner for the impromptu guest spots. A Big thanks to Pooja Srinivas for prompting me to finally do this, it really was a blast and I thank you tons for the push. I would love to gchat with you someideas for the next one. And that you everyone! Let me know what you think and go Little Fish Studio

      I know this video is 2 years old, but very valuable information. Hopefully future videos worked out the distraction level of the live comments as you appeared to be having mini strokes when you became distracted. nice recoveries each time. hope to see many more videos when I go in to subscribe. thanks for sharing.

      Did you end up doing this again in a format that's been recorded? Gonna watch this one, but if you have others, then I'd love to watch it too.

    The comic that I've started working on will be roughly around 200 pages. (It is my first) I had feelings that this may be a pretty broad start to take. However, if I'm understanding you right, are you saying to simplfy the whole thing into a 10 page comic (YIKES) or making multiple 10 page comics to tell the whole story?

    I got that math wasn't fully through....where's the other 20 percent? And 20 percent is not 1/3. 33% is. I haven't watched all the way through but im.10 min after that mark and still missing that 20% explanation

    Why does the breakdown only add up to 80%? :/

    • @tjduprey
      @tjduprey 8 лет назад +1

      while I believe it was probably bad math, I would argue that the missing 20% is the part that makes the reader give a damn about the other 80%. character development, humor, pathos, drama elements that don't necessarily drive the story forward. the missing 20% is the glue.

    Would a 200 page comic book be a series or just one long comic book? How many pages is the average comic book (on a rack at 7-11)?

    • @PatrickYurick
      @PatrickYurick  10 лет назад

      An average monthly comic is between 20-24 pages of art (usually 22) Right now the size of a trade paperback book (at a $20ish price range) at barnes & noble collects about six of those monthly issues into 132 pages.

      And to answer the first question - I have seen it be both. With kickstarter packaging a comic can look any way you want it to. Check out www.makingcomics.com for more info.
