That's a really good video for documenting just how demanding this game was at release. It's playable on here but at this screen size the stutter is quite noticeable, and that's just the shareware episode, the later ones and Doom II would fare much worse. Any chance for Heretic on this PC? DX-33 is apparently the recommended CPU for that game but really I find it can get quite rough even on a P60.
I wonder how it will run with 4mb of ram, I want to build pretty much that same pc but with 4mb of ram. I might need to upgrade to 8mb depending on how well doom runs on it.
@@arncht6507 well I’m not planning on playing that many demanding games, it’s supposed to be a mostly 2D pc (I already have a Pentium 200 pc for 3D stuff like quake and daggerfall) I would just like it to play doom on a 486 because that sounds awesome.

This was considered very good fps back then. Most people ran this on a 25 or 33mhz 486

It should run, but 4m for a dx2 is not too much, and very uncommon.
