It seems I forgot to point it out - but the entire intro of this video is done with ADR.
-Robbie
Haha I had no idea. Thought it was strange to not include it at the end. Great job!
I could tell fam.
so i was fooled. thinking when he shows the finished video
Vocalign (an audio plugin) can really help tighten things once you have a good foundation. If you have audio that is intelligible, but just sounds too far away, it will help match the timing between the ADR and the on set audio.
Damn this guy is a natural entertainer! Good job on hiring him Shutterstock, now let's give the man a raise : )
This guy is hilarious. He needs to be rewarded with more screen time. 👌
I agree. We should give him a raise, too! Maybe more time off while we're at it!
-Robbie
Okay, that was extremely funny for a topic as boring as ADR.
Thank you for the video and the channel.
Robbie, Robbie, Robbie great job, had me in stitches... that singing though :-) You and the entire Team, Be well and stay encouraged!!!
LOL i loved the magician's appearance
Such a good video! I think it's funny that they call it "Automated". There ain't nothing automatic about this. 😂
ADR + Foley = professional audio for videos
LMAO, the ADR's bed made me laugh hard
ROOM TONE AND AMBIENT NOISE ( ATMOSPHERIC ) . AWESOME SHARE !!!
I love when he tucked the audio in.
The "Offset"!! Got you the "like" bro. 😂
The was really great. The host is awesome. looking forward to more videos.
Great tips! Nice video. You deserve much more views on your videos! :-)
Lol Totally 100% Dig the content!
You guys are Awesome!
I do aaaaaall dialogues in ADR ! It sounds hollyWood af
at the second he said that Offset bit it felt like someone is reading my dumb thoughts :D
The "Offset" bit took me out! LMAO!!
Great video! I do ADR for a living and spot on
Such an awesome video, thanks for that
ADR and magic tricks. 💯
Great advice! This really emphasizes the importance for grabbing room tone and at least identifying foley on set.
I literally subscribed for 4:33 - 5:05 clip. Hilarious. And great content.
Are there any programs your recommend? Preferably affordable ones lol . Thank you!
I throw shit when a client says they have some ADR... they send it to me and it’s just some voice memo recording from their phone in a bathroom 😂 ...I’ll send them this video from now on.
This tutorial is the tutorial of how tutorials should be
Thank you for such a useful video guys.
[Insert room tone] Gracias amigo.
De nada.
-Robbie
Great video. Can you tell us what your keylight is. The two quasar tubes are rim lighting you. Is it just another quasar tube camera right lighting your face? Thanks!
We actually used a book light set up. I took a Aputure 300d and pointed it at a white bounce, then that bounced light is shining through a shower curtain diffuser. The rest is just a LED backlight shining down on me, and the two quasars you see.
-Robbie
Shutterstock Tutorials thank you so much. Looks fantastic.
Very helpful thank you
Some ADR is overproduced. ABC sitcoms seem to ADR everything no matter the location and it sounds so out-of-body. It's similar to pharmaceutical ads. I don't know what this phenomenon is but I'd love to see someone address this and how to make ADR sound appropriate for the setting.
The person recording audio on set is not an engineer. They are Recordists. And the egg crates on the wall is not sound proofing. There is no such thing as sound proofing. There is Isolation and Treatment.
wait, wheres the final audio?
Awesome video
Sir, at your office you don't have basstraps in the corners... fix it!
When do the ADR, record it dialogue by dialogue (one by one) or record it whole dialogue scene in one time?
It depends
@@HikariP depends what?
Actually do the whole scene if you can. if you could not, then Do dialogue by dialogue.
@@HikariP But how about looping, it must do it dialogue by dialogue right?
@@william.n4643 yes
Great, but where is the final result?
If you rewatch the intro that’s the final result. That was all ADR audio.
What's that setup called in the thumbnail?
Im half way through this video and I still can't find any reason you wouldn't just do ADR in a DAW like Pro Tools. It seems so much more difficult here
Do you think big films uses 100% adr for their movie?
I'd say on some big blockbuster movies that have a lot of effects and wide shots (such as Transformers or Avengers), it's probably 50-80% ADR. It's used more than you think!
-Robbie
They use it as little as possible. Obviously it’s more work than having an audio guy, and much more expensive to pay actors to do the work twice. But as Robbie mentioned, the type of shot can make it impractical or impossible in many cases.
But I heard Toy Story was 100% adr
@@carlraetzsch Yeah, the animator's furious keyboard clicking kept getting captured by the sound engineer. But that's Hollywood for ya!
Great tutorial, but where's the final result?
Exactly!
hilarious!
Ahahaha is this your card? NO 😂
nice but where is the final dubbed result??
Kandid Reviews at the beginning
Why go through all this, to in the end, not show the 'finished product'/ 'end result'?
That was a heavy accent on the ADR but good job lol
Wtf? How can you seriously ask people to like and subscribe when you didn't even play the audio that you recorded? A before and after is expected in a video like this.
This could be a good educational video, but to much bs
erm I think you missed the whole point of this tutorial! You forgot to show us the BEFORE and AFTER!!
Very useful, but your Spanish is painful.
Never heard worse spanish than yours.
