    I have never had a doctor I could talk to. I live in the USA and unless you are very wealthy or famous the doctor spends maybe 10 minutes with you and then dashes out to see the next patient. We are herded in and out like cattle. Its all about the money. Plain and simple. Every doc I know of told me that these hot flashes would last a couple years and not to worry about it. LOL Well we know that isn't the case. I don't go the doc anymore unless it is an emergency. However, I have been receiving your info via email for a long time and you have been a wealth of information for me. You have helped me so very much during this time in my life. Thank you so much for all you do.

      Same here in the Netherlands; you get dragged in and before you know what happened you are out again. In the end you have to find out what's wrong all by yourself and solve it by yourself. Next year I will downgrade my insurance considerably and just use the hospital in emergencies.

      @@medfreerecovery3022 I am so sorry to hear all of that. I definitely relate to all that you said. We are bombarded with all this healthcare debate in my country and one side says it is great and the other side says we should model after other countries like the Netherlands etc. I am convinced that the healthcare industry is exactly that....a money making industry. I don't trust it anymore. We have to educate ourselves and take control of our own health. You aren't alone my friend!!

      @@lynny5510 Thanks for your support, I think that as long as it's an industry we won't get the care we deserve. I hope it all turns back to how it once was here: a state department which took care of our care. No 'profits' and ROI, just care.

      Hi
      Yes, it can really upset the hormones by stopping HRT quickly, even if you've only been on it short while. It's difficult to say how long it could take the body to re-adjust as this will be different for every one but, at a guess, I would say at least 3-6 months

    The tingling in arm legs and feet is just unnerving. I have been tested for so many things. Brain MRI, full spinal MRI, brain and neck CT, stomach ultrasound and CT. All blood work is excellent. Heart ultrasound and treadmill test. All good. I have seen an Endocrinologist, Rheumatologist, Neurologist, Cardiologist. All can’t find anything wrong. Also have had a nerve study done. All good! I’m so thankful !! However…the tingling is so unnerving. HRT isn’t for me. Tried it for 10 weeks and it was awful for me. They stopped me cold turkey. My Endocrinologist told me it will take 6 months to a year to get back to my post menopause baseline. She was mortified that they stopped the HRT cold turkey and didn’t wean me off. I’m so sad and just want to feel like myself again. This all makes me feel so defeated.

      Glad to be of help.
      The first thing to do is go and see your doctor; your symptoms could all be caused by a number of issues such as low iron, low thyroid function or low vitamin D. Your doctor can test for these just to rule them out. I would also suggest a phyto-oestrogen supplement such as our Menopause Support or the herb Black Cohosh as both of these are known to gently balance oestrogen. Remember to drink lots of plain water as this can help with joint pains, sleep and anxiety.

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  5 лет назад +2

      Yes, this can happen. We have found that injury done to joints or muscles in the past can flare up in the menopause; because of the damage this area becomes a ‘weak’ point and will usually respond to falling oestrogen first. You may find the herb Devils Claw helpful as this is known as a natural anti-inflammatory and usually works quite quickly. Also practice slow deep breathing several times a day; in this situation, because it is uncomfortable, you can end up shallow breathing and this will make the cartilage even less flexible. Dehydration can also be a major factor, affecting the elasticity of the cartilage, so remember to drink lots of plain water throughout the day.

      @@AvogelCoUk Hi Eileen, Thanks a ton for your reply! I will definitely buy devil's claw. I'm not very sure if it is available in the natural medicine stores here (have to check). I see that if I order online then the postage is almost as much as the drops cost :( that is why I want to see if it is available in stores.
      I was wondering if it makes any difference whether one takes drops or tablets (for eg I found this on the website: www.avogel.ie/herbal-remedies/devils-claw-atrosan/)
      Would they work equally well for the aches/pains during menopaus?

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  3 года назад +1

      Hi Jessica
      The intermittent fasting may be an issue here. If your hormones are starting to change towards the menopause, long periods without nutrients may put extra pressure on the nervous system and this in turn can affect the monthly cycle. Best thing to do is ask your doctor for a hormone test to see exactly what's going on.

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  4 года назад

      Hi Linda
      Unfortunately, falling oestrogen can cause general dehydration and that can cause a strong odour, also constipation can be a factor too. Just check that you are drinking loads of plain water every day and that your bowels are working well. It may be an idea to swap from an antiperspirant to a deodorant; antiperspirants stop you sweating but this can affect your temperature regulation resulting in sweating elsewhere! Also, wash off any antiperspirants from your underarms before bed to allow the underarms to breath properly during the night.

      Hi Chryza
      If you are still bleeding (sorry for taking so long to reply) it is really important to get back to your doctor, they shouldn't leave you in this state! Just think about it, if you were bleeding like this from anywhere else in your body they would treat you as an emergency! If they ignore you again please go to A&E; this does need investigating.
      In the meantime you may find aa gentle iron tonic helpful as prolonged bleeding can cause anaemia which in turn can trigger fatigue, anxiety and joint pains!

      Hi Anita
      It is very difficult to tell as it is different for every woman. I do recommend treating the joint pain in the menopause as this may make it more likely to ease afterwards.

      Hi Anita
      Yes, the menopause is different for every woman so the duration of symptoms can be different too. You are considered post menopause after two years without periods but this time scale is more to do with the risk of pregnancy ending. Most women do find that symptoms start to ease off but, unfortunately, for some women symptoms can continue after this point; this can often be due to poor lifestyle, diet and other chronic health issues that may be present.

      Hi Juslyn
      You could try the herb sage as this is known to help with flushes and sweats and usually works quite quickly. Remember to drink lots of plain water as dehydration from the flushes can trigger more of them! Also try a small shotglass of warm water just before bed. Remember not to drink any caffeine drinks such as coffee in the evening and avoid high sugar or salt snacks before be as these can all make symptoms worse!
