Wow. I've sen a lot of gear interviews, but seldom have they featured such a magnetic personality. Mr. Bonamassa is articulate, and a delight to watch. Not to mention that he hasn't relegated the task of a gear interview to his roadies.
I love listening to him talk about gear. So many guys stutter and/ or ramble about their gear as if they don't really know what they're talking about. Joe gives it to you short and sweet and gets more detail to you in that short amount of time than most do in the whole video.
@ZachDRUMMOND its a reference to peter green's les paul (gary moore used to own it too). they flipped the magnet and wiring of the neckpickup so when you have the bridge and neck pickup on at the same time, you get an out of phase sound. I use it a lot on my les pauls. cool thing: rolling down the volume of the neck or bridge pickup makes it 'stock' again.
Wonder if this was before Magellan? I could listen to him talk about gear all day long. People dont realize how funny he is. Man that white suit!🔥♥️🦁☮️
It is funny as he only plays all the real ones on stage threes days not one is ever a copy. His collection is so huge now. Yet 500,000 guitars are used to let people see and here the real thing which is what I love. As no way I’d ever get here these real guitars these days.
Bonamassa has such a strangely mixed up accent, particularly in this video. He sounds English on certain words and the rest of the time has a New York-ish vibe going on.
Back on topic, I fucking LOVE that candy apple blue. I'm not much for the color blue because it always reminds me of wal-mart haha, but that particular shade is something gibson should look into as an option for all of their les pauls and even their ES guitars.
I'm going to guess he's not a big fan judging from his now huge collection of gibson's. Though, he does play music man, and PRS is definitely a cut above them.
@yekshemesh4alig - I take it you don't play gigs? the capo is for a guitar thats in open tuning, you don't want to spend five minutes pissing the audience off between songs so just go for the guitar thats set up properly, whats the problem with that?
@bluesBro18 i think he said he has like 181 guitars in 2008 so 3 years later he could have like 200 thats crazy but i mean he has no kids no wife and a lot of money so let him spend it how he wants
How level headed is this guy? Wow. He mentions playing at the Albert Hall like he is talking about playing at your local bar. Guy talks like you could have a bagel with him in a coffee shop. Seems down to earth.
Does his awkwardness remind anybody else of J.P from Grandma's boy??? Joe is a beast of a player. But there is always this awkwardness I sense when he's on camera.
Joe said: I wouldn't be so crazy (buyin an original 58 koryna flying V) and now he bought a real les paul 59.. 300k maybe.. hehehe l LOVE GEAR ACQUISITION SYNDROME!
+The Mad Mick His girlfriend/wife is Scottish, so that explains that. In one of his interviews he was talking about the prices of things and instead of saying Dollar he said Quid, which may not seem strange, but he was referring to an item that would normally be in dollar amounts. It's possible that he was in Britain at the time and was trying to seem more friendly to a specific audience.
@branch1234 You remind me of that paper clip that would pop up on the microsoft word programs, unnecessary and somewhat irritating. If you really came here to watch the video, watch the video man. You don't have to criticize everyone just because they may not be FLUENT IN ENGLISH.

So cool, he starts getting real passionate about the Freddie King guitar. Gotta love this guy.
Everyone pay attention. The intro song is his song "Blue and Evil" off of his Black Rock album
Wonder if this was before Magellan? I could listen to him talk about gear all day long. People dont realize how funny he is. Man that white suit!🔥♥️🦁☮️
Joe has such a fun/loose style. I hate him because he's so rad, yet love him because he's so rad.
Keep rockin'!!
I know music can't speak or talk in words, but if you listen close enough, you can hear and understand its meaning, just beautiful ☺ ☺
@MrPocketGuitar It's called "Blue and Evil" off of Joe Bonamassa's Black Rock album.
lol they should know it's not a real 58 I'm not that crazy. He is now
Haha, I was just going to comment the same thing. :D
That's exactly what I was thinking

what is the song they play at the beginning of the video? is it a joe bonamassa song?
Bonamassa has such a strangely mixed up accent, particularly in this video. He sounds English on certain words and the rest of the time has a New York-ish vibe going on.
He's a hoot. He has a great sense of humor 💙🎸🎶🎤❤️
the 68 black custom LP is in my opinion the most beautiful LP ever made
May i ask why do you have to have a separate capo-only guitar when you can have that same guitar simply tunned the way you want... ?
Back on topic, I fucking LOVE that candy apple blue. I'm not much for the color blue because it always reminds me of wal-mart haha, but that particular shade is something gibson should look into as an option for all of their les pauls and even their ES guitars.
are those dunlop straplocks?
i could listen to him ramble all day, funny guy
Anyone know the intro music?
Would like to hear his opinion on a PRS custom 24
I'm going to guess he's not a big fan judging from his now huge collection of gibson's. Though, he does play music man, and PRS is definitely a cut above them.
he said it sucks
How witty
could someone please tell me what made those dubblenecks are?
Ernie Ball Music Man. 6 string baritone top neck, 6 string regular bottom.
Joe is from the Utica NY area
Snowy White's '57 Les Paul Gold Top has black plastic hardware .
where's he from? im english but im hearing a slightly different accent to the 'normal' american
No strat? :(
Joe Bonamassa loves guitars.
@radomu1 probably?
@yekshemesh4alig - I take it you don't play gigs? the capo is for a guitar thats in open tuning, you don't want to spend five minutes pissing the audience off between songs so just go for the guitar thats set up properly, whats the problem with that?
Aw man, Where's the Chandler Lectraslide?
@zbabyelci i can just about play the intro riff now :)
@radomu1 Yeah :-)
@bluesBro18 i think he said he has like 181 guitars in 2008 so 3 years later he could have like 200 thats crazy but i mean he has no kids no wife and a lot of money so let him spend it how he wants
Joe is the awesomest "aspertame addict" ever!
Even if he didin't have to do all that He should still be able to do whatever he wants. If you can afford it, then why not?
ghehe he mentioned peter green , made my day.
I think I'm gonna sell my lunch and dinner just to buy the Epiphone Joe Bonamassa signature model!! :D
How level headed is this guy? Wow. He mentions playing at the Albert Hall like he is talking about playing at your local bar. Guy talks like you could have a bagel with him in a coffee shop. Seems down to earth.
Reminds me of Dr. Steve Brule
5:58 - 6:03 it looks like he pulls out the same guitar.
2:00 That statement surely didn’t age well
Does his awkwardness remind anybody else of J.P from Grandma's boy??? Joe is a beast of a player. But there is always this awkwardness I sense when he's on camera.
@DangerHaiVoltage blue and evil
Joe & his kids
Bonamassa is the King!
"I like it cuz its clean...ish" *wipes the top off*
I went to buy a diet coke, but could not find it so I decided to buy a Gibson Les Paul
He used to be more of a real person before he went commercial!! Sooo mannny mmmonents !! Ohhh 😮
Last time i went out for a diet coke. And guess what ? I got back home with a diet coke ! What's wrong with me ?
He's spent too much time in Europe! He's developing an accent!
Yeah, whats up with that. Several times he broke out in the Queen's English.
so he has just about everything here except a strat and a tele and one of his real 59's
Who in the fuck goes in search of a Diet Coke?? Hahahhaaha. Great musicians.
Probably the coolest dork in the world?
My favorite statement......Oh I only bring about 20 guitars
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie...
Joe said: I wouldn't be so crazy (buyin an original 58 koryna flying V) and now he bought a real les paul 59.. 300k maybe.. hehehe l LOVE GEAR ACQUISITION SYNDROME!
gd he is so dorky
☻ ☻ ☻Awesome channel ☻
now everyone is looking for mr shades.. hahah
We are just ordinary...
If Paypal was the quintessential trauma of your life, Joe.. you have nothing to complain about..
"and and and... boot man."
Joe is English now mon!
Aspartame is dangerous has hell. Plz Joe!
Is it just me or is Joe developing some sort of random accent?
+The Mad Mick I noticed that also? lol
+The Mad Mick He sounds British or Kiwi or Australian when he pronounces certain words. Really weird !
+The Mad Mick His girlfriend/wife is Scottish, so that explains that. its all about smoke and mirrors at the end of the day...Nice
A dork that is deeply puzzled by eBay and Paypal :)
It really doesn't.
Its like torture to me to watch all this les pauls
@branch1234 You remind me of that paper clip that would pop up on the microsoft word programs, unnecessary and somewhat irritating. If you really came here to watch the video, watch the video man. You don't have to criticize everyone just because they may not be FLUENT IN ENGLISH.
THE FUCK! Joe Bonamassa bought by fucking guitar?!?!?!?
Eric Johnson called and he wants his licks back.
Instead of using a capo on a guitar he already has, he buys a new guitar to use only with capo.
Ridiculous
Why is he putting that accent on ahhaha?
Am I hearing a pseudo English accent or something??
Tell Joe to stop drinking diet pop' NOW...
