There wouldn't be a housing shortage for our vulnerable members of society if the government didn't keep flicking off state houses cheap to their investor mates and instead spent the money to do them up top meet the current rental standards.

This is so cool. I love this for people who cannot afford ridiculous rents now. I sold up and I live in tiny house now. Love it

There would be no need for this amount of social housing if NZ wasn't such a nanny state, that doesn't pay its workers enough in an over expensive economy to live in......

So my taxes seem to go towards people who have to many children, always the tax payer who loses

Yeah, I believe the government should limit benefits for 1 year per 5year.

What do you mean it's all about the kids lol

    • @STaraSVirk

@christinecoxhead45 i mean, once the kids are 1 year old, their parents can get the job and support. Just like normal people. Sitting on benefits and having kids after kids is not solution to housing. It's our tax payer money get wasted on lazy people. So , i believe that everyone should eligible for 12 months of benefits in per 5 years. After 12 months you have to get a job. Exclude disable people.

You do realize, that beneficiaries pay taxes too right? And that tax payers are probably paying for other tax payers needs as much as your paying for yourself to survive on this earth. @@STaraSVirk

Who said they were on benefits? They could be on one wage, or low wage or have cancer for all you know. Where in the video did you hear they were on benefits? I must have missed it.

How did they even achieve residency to be able to get social housing if they moved over from samoa and went straight onto emergency housing?
