- In Iceland, I did some long exposure photography to create some drama on a still day.

There's usually a lot of drama in the photos in #iceland . However, on a calm day I had to resort to the use of long exposure #photography to help set the mood. Sometimes, photography is about creating an image that looks like the world as you see it. In this case, photography was about creating an image that feels the way you feel the world.
It was such a fun day of photo-making, and the long exposure definitely made it even more fun.
The Kirkjulfell photo with the icicles ist pretty unique! Cool!
Yeah! Got lucky with the conditions.
Iceland always impresses. What's your favourite image from the video?
My fav is the one that look like it has a castle of rocks eheh
BTW, I'm in Sagres for the next month renovating a family house. If you want to take some pics around here DM on IG 👌🏻😁
Love the long exposure of the horseshoe at Arnarstapi and the Kirkufell shot from under the waterfall, it’s good to try to get a unique angle providing it’s safe to do so. Will be visiting both this August and I always have a play with different exposures Brendan, one never knows if you will ever re visit such iconic places and I for one would kick myself if I didn’t experiment whilst there 🤔👌
Yeah, always good to mess around with the exposure. Also hard to see how it feels on the little LCD
The waterfall photos are beautiful. Been a long time since I watched any photography videos.
Stay safe
Hi Chance! Hope all is well.
Absolutely love the vertical Kirkjufellfoss.
Thanks Jackie! It took some work to get there, but I think it works.
@@BrendanvanSon I remember how treacherous it was.
I am learning so much watching your videos. Thanks very much!
Thanks for a super video and info. I love the images you created, especially the last two, particularly the penultimate vertical shot at the waterfall.
Thank you Wendy!
Love how you got down in there for that last waterfall shot. Such a different perspective.
Always fun to have the chance to go back to places like this and have the chance to experiment.
It's not because of Portugal Brendan, it's age😂!! That is why my wife and I escape cold Ottawa in the winter for Cuba! At least for a couple of weeks a year.
Hahaha.
Oh my, what beautiful photos! Planning to be there next June. Your blue eyes really pop against the white background :)
Thanks! You'll love it in June. Great month for Iceland.
I understand your difficulty in photographing Gatklettur. I think I've been there 15 times and still don't have a photo I'm happy with
It's tricky right? Seems like the exposure and contrast are always working against you.
Love the second one of kirkjufellsfoss. You're a bit mental for getting down there, but with those rewards it is worth it. :)
haha, I think it was worth it for the photo
Especially love that second one beneath Kirkjufellsfoss. Really unique shot for a location where uniqueness isn't really in supply anymore. Great video!
Thanks buddy, hope all is well.
More cliffs. ☠😱 Icey cliffs to boot. Enjoy! 👍🥂
Icey cliffs make for great photos haha
@@BrendanvanSon Vertigo and general klutziness would do me in quickly.
I was about to say "well, -4°C IS cold", but then I remembered you're from Canada 😂
Haha, Yeah, I grew up where days got to be -40c a couple times a year.
@@BrendanvanSon 🥶
Great job Brendan, shots at the waterfall are incredible.
Thanks buddy!
Fun video, after all it's all about the fun. That last image you showed taken from under the waterfalls did use focus staking or just simply F/11 👍😎 nice job
Just F11. It is so wide angle I'm not sure it needs a stack. Also, I'm a fan of depth, even on landscapes
I really enjoyed this video, Brendan. I always learn from your videos. Thank you for the time you put into creating them and that you post them.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate the kind comment too.
cool
