I like how the indoor alarms are electronic and the outdoor ones are mechanical. Also, the round one is so cool and rare, but the rectangular one has had enough of its life.
Surprised maintenance was able to prevent the discharge. Usually once a fire suppression system alarm triggers you may get a pre-Alert and then pre-discharge but once it reaches pre-discharge you only have 30 seconds to evacuate before the discharge starts unless someone had his or her finger on the abort switch/button and KEPT it held down until they got there.
I’m not sure if you have heard of this, but it appears that there’s one stadium that the Florida Georgia Line band was performing at in Florida it’s a Simplex TrueAlert signal as it has the exact same sounding! Did you know that there was a news of the fire alarm going off at a stadium in Florida where the Florida Georgia Line band was having a concert at? It was very devastating as everyone rushed out panicking for mercy!
Wow! That's crazy! There wouldn't be a mess if it's a server room because it's FM-200 which is a gas and leaves no residue, aka a clean agent. All they would have to do is replace the tank
So much misinformation about FM-200. Contrary to popular belief, it does NOT displace oxygen. I've been in both FM-200 AND HALON discharge tests, and I didn't suffocate. No one did. The only thing that happened was I got a raging erection.
Those Simplex TruAlert systems would actually be pretty affective and actually have an advantage if they were placed in schools. I wish I could have those systems in my school, so that they sound like fire and police sirens. I seriously hate the newer modeled systems that have the actual horn and blare kind of sounds.
That separation makes sense! My dorm complex I stayed at my first year of college has 4 dorm halls, though 2 of the buildings are on one panel so both have their own

That combination of the March Time agent alarms and the Whooping regular ones sounds so cool! But if I were you, I’d be running like hell instead of trying to look at the alarms, because that whole building’s about to be flooded with FM200 or whatever they use there.
It was pretty gnarly. If you didn't already know, I was able to hear it past a brick wall, 100+ feet of distance, a wall made of two layers of sheetrock, and my headphones. If it was just the 600's speakers, I wouldn't have even known there was a situation.
My high school also has those branded fire alarms. They are getting a little rare. Here is what we have in my school: Wheelock AS Wheelock NS Vintage Honeywell (buzzer/still electronic) System sensor SPSR with voice evac on Code 3 Wheelock motor bell which I did look over the logo, but don’t know what exact model it is (mechanical).
The technical term for that is “March Time,” and the main fire alarms are doing a whoop tone. It’s not Slow Whoop or Fast Whoop, though; it’s actually somewhere in between.
I wonder if the old simplex with the white cover on the light is part of the previous fire alarms if this is an older building. My middle school replaced the 1950s single stroke bells with est genesis speaker strobes and forgot to remove the bell in the cafeteria. It happened some point after I graduated
Pretty interesting how half of the building has regular mounted truealerts and the other has upside down ones without the two logos and the fire lettering below the speaker part right-side up
0:01 Why it causes fire alarm? Well, causing a fire alarm from this 600ft tall building detects something after computer system shuts off causing the alarm sounds, after there were a loud alarm due to sound suppression system
I noticed the other alarms didn’t have the sound on it was just the strobe the only sounds I heard was the agent and the alarm by the door is it supposed to be like that?
Because Tunxis loves their alarms that way. (Just kidding. My guess would be design/installation error. Then they ordered plain covers and made custom labels)
Ohh... You mean the ones in the old wing. Those are horn/strobes, not speaker/strobes. They work, they're just not sounding because they don't need to be. It's the same system, but because the two buildings are separated by a brick wall, they don't need to have a total evacuation of the entire campus the moment the fire alarm trips in the other building. If you want to see them in action: ruclips.net/video/1oTAlCJDHaY/видео.html
The whole college (excluding the library, which is a standalone building) is run on a network of 4100U and ES panels. The old and new building each has a 4100U. The 2013 addition to the new building has a 4100ES. I believe the ES is where the audio tones come from, since it was said to be different before 2013 (they have a 4003, but it might not be active since all the labeling was removed). During a fire alarm, both sections of the new building will go off together.
It's a speaker. The amplifier on the panel feeds it a slow whoop tone. If they needed, emergency responders can pick up the microphone and give instructions over the same speakers. Of course, the slow whoop tone stops once they press the "talk" button.
Our country Ireland Had it's own system But now there only allowed to install American fire alarms but it can still use its Call points/Pull stations and detectors when they like.
Yeah. I just found out how they did that. They used blank covers, and put peel-and-stick letters on them. I figured that out after finding one where the stickers were messed up and peeling off.
My college's fire alarm system activated today due to the a problem with an FM-200 (fire suppression) system in a server room. They have it set up that way because there's a brick wall separating the two buildings, so they don't need to evacuate the whole campus the moment the alarm trips in one building. Signals: - Simplex TrueAlert speaker/strobes (indoor fire alarm) - Wheelock MB-24-G10 motor bells (outdoor fire alarm) - Wheelock Exceder HSR-A (agent release alarm)
The horns are silenced because it's a different section of the building, separated by a firewall and a series of fire doors. The system here consists of a 3-panel network. The panel in the old building was in alarm, too, but the signals aren't programmed to sound in this situation.

Especially not fun if the suppression system is something like halon.
Unless the system was installed before Halon was banned, discontinued, or whatever I doubt it's Halon could be FM200, C02, or some other agent.
