Hi, I love your videos they are very informative and helpful. I would love to see a video on setting up an hour meter for a pump output. Total run time of the pump and total run time in the last 24hours. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can’t seem to find much information on this.
Thanks for making these videos on these IDEC units. Do you know a way to create an H-O-A switch? C-Mores, Redlions, and some others have a premade 3 position widget that will write a value into an integer, and each value represents a different state. With no premade one, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around creating one. There are some nice looking H-O-A graphics in the symbol manager though.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I am in the middled of a job transition and relocation. Yes, there is a way to make an HOA toggle. You will need to use a toggle image with a multi switch. Add 2 different positions of the same image, as Indicator lights over the switch image. Use trigger conditions to display the appropriate image, by which bit is actuall on, in the multi switch. This is the best way I can think of of hande. You could also use hidden switches to move it from one position to the other. But, that would be tricky to explain, without a video.
Question : I need to set up and read a 4-20ma output from a invalco 4728 bs&w monitor .I’ve installed the pj2a card but can’t read the valve coming from the invalco 4728. Any ideas?plc is a fc6a
You need to break down your troubleshooting into parts. First verify that you are actually getting the mA signal you think you are (measure it with a multimeter). Or use a known good mA simulator. Once you are sure it is wired correctly and you actually have a signal to measure then go on to the software end of it like was just said.
I got a IDEC micro smart FC6A-C24R1CE. Having a problem that the USB devices are not found, or not functioning when trying to download a program. Wondering if you know what could be going on?
Go to device manager. If you see it in there, check the driver. If you dont see it, you will have to delete devices, from ports that are not in use. Then plug it back in to a port. I have had trouble before with that before. Should work then. If not let me know.
Are you saying the radio buttons can perform logic on outputs? So basically you are controlling multiple outputs with one button press? Almost like ladder logic except there is no ladder logic just button logic.
I am working with the messgae display trying to display text that the user can input using a character input. The idea is that they can input text and then that text is stored and if certain conditions happen then the text they made is displayed. Basically alarms that can be programed from the FT1A Touch screen. When I try to assign a referance device it says invalid variable when I choose a D location. Is there something I am missing or a better way of doing this?
I will look into it. I think I have an idea of what you are trying to do. Im thinking you will have to reference the output message from the data register where you store the message. I have done this before with pop up screens, that indicate a particular fault in the system. (Estop actvated, light curtain violated, motor overload, etc.)give me a day or 2 to get back to you on it.
@@huntxtrm yeah pop up screens would probably work. It’s kind of a weird project so I think any method that gets the job done will be fine. Thanks for looking into it!
@@huntxtrm I got the popup screens down but I can't seem to get the ascii text to display. I want to have a screen that the operator can type in a messsage and save it to a D location and then when the alarm is called the text they inputed to the hmi screen is shown on the popup screen. I was trying to use a message display but I keep getting an invalid variable message when I try to exit the editing window in NV3.

Where you able to configure it? At the module configuration tab?

Yes, they can perform multiple functions to different bits at yhe same time. You could bypass lines of logic with one button press.
You are controlling bits, not actual outputs though.
