    I love your content Rachael! I love the fact that you often show different restaurants in kampala, hair salons etc. I actually went to a spa at the speke apartments last year because you provided the info a while ago. Your vlogs are entertaining, informative and I often take notes on what I want to check out when I am in Ug! Keep up the good work!

    The fact is everyone's reality is different and this is YOUR reality. Now if we want to see what's happeneing out of this reality, which obviously there is- I am sure there are channels that showcase that. I am all for authenticity and you're being just that.

      There are sooo many ! And not to mention that poverty porn is free to consume also, for those who feel more comfortable digesting that LOL. I’ll always just show whatever is my norm and day to day 😅 thanks for watching !! 💕

    Hi Rachel,
    I am so thankful for your content. It's provided a wonderful education and a perspective on Uganda that is much needed then the usual negative narratives. It's made me want to explore Uganda and invest. In addition, what you share is many times you doing the research that would take me forever to do and providing information that helps me understand sources that are credible or not and what to look for from the perspective of things that might be important to people in the diaspora. And I like that you help people like me understand what is possible. Thank you! Keep doing you and bringing the content. You're doing a great job! :)

    I think you show the Uganda that needs to be seen. So much negativity and those who live in the western world are afraid to come back because they see what the media wants them to see. What you show is the Uganda I know and it makes me want to invest in my country. Big ups to you and everyone else that's a hater can just F**K OFF

    • @RachaelNalumu
      @RachaelNalumu  6 месяцев назад

      It’s the investing in your country part ! We live in such a beautiful country. SUCH a beautiful place with really amazing people, sunshine, delicious food, so much greatness to also highlight 👏🏾

    I'm glad you show us your lifestyle in Kampala, Uganda because I know that's your reality. I'm tired of some people vlogging only poverty porn in Uganda. I admit I'm also boujee.

    • @RachaelNalumu
      @RachaelNalumu  6 месяцев назад +1

      Omg poverty porn! That’s the phrase I’m using from now on ! And Heey boujie sis 💁🏾‍♀️

    • @RealStellaStella
      @RealStellaStella 6 месяцев назад

      @@RachaelNalumuHi boujee sis. And yeah you should use that phrase when you see it because I noticed some people that go to Uganda vlog only poverty: implying no other lifestyle exists in Uganda: as a result they scare off some people.

    I love the point briefly you made on how Ugandans assume people raised aboard live luxurious spoilt lives with maids & cleaners like the upper middle class in UG, when the reality is most times very far from that! Growing up my cousins all thought my siblings & I didn't know how to cook or clean until they visited us in the US and saw we did more housework then them in Kampala😂
    Anyway, great video Rachael! I think many things can be true at once. There are so many wonderful things in Uganda & there are many Ugandans who have not had the privilege or luxury to experience those things. That does not mean that is not part of the "real Uganda"

    • @RachaelNalumu
      @RachaelNalumu  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes !! So factual! The funniest “we did more housework than them in Kampala” 🤣 👏🏾 . And uganda is truly a blend of so many different realities for sure and some haven’t had the opportunity to experience some luxuries, so true

    • @LindaTinahTV
      @LindaTinahTV 6 месяцев назад

      They don't know the amount of housework we do out here. I am born and raised in Uganda and didn't grow up doing half of the things I do here.

      @RachaelNalumu girl, when I come home, I make the most of the help. I joke with my white friends here that even my maid in Uganda has a maid. Facts! And before anyone comes for me, yes, I know I am in the privileged category.

    The real Uganda? Uganda is a mix and blend of different experiences some who are very poor and others who are wealthy and well to do. Kampala has impoverished parts but then towards Ntinda, Kolo Hills, Naguru etc there is a lot of beauty, stately homes, new build properties, stunning schools.
    Uganda is a place of beauty, rough around the edges and some clear challenges. It's a clash but stunning & challenging either way.

    • @RachaelNalumu
      @RachaelNalumu  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes yes to all this! It's a mix and blend and most people don't realize that a lot of countries are actually the same. It's just not in your face as much. We also have a small middle class, so most just do not see the mix.

    Bring on a guest who makes less than 1 million shillings a month and do their budget, the catch should be that all their income is made in Uganda, that may give us a window into a different Uganda, and also someone who makes 500,000 shs a month ( i think that might be the average salary of a 9-5 Ugandan ).

    It’s unfortunate that you are downplaying one of the biggest problems with have in Uganda which is food security. We have many children and women starving and dying from hunger and you come out here and laugh about it just for RUclips views and likes . Pathetic!!

    • @RachaelNalumu
      @RachaelNalumu  6 месяцев назад +2

      Hmmm that’s rather interesting where you thought I was laughing at people about that. I wouldn’t have taken it like this at all but to each their own.
