I've just put thermal lining paper on the walls - absolute gamechanger. Our Dehums work great, but they are too noisy to sleep with, they need to be in the affected rooms and they eat the leccy.
That's great to hear. I put my dehumidifier on the upstairs landing and it does the whole house, it. Works amazing at my house, this one is energy efficient, i dont find it eats the electricity. I love my dehumidifier, one of the best things I have bought.
Yes, Steven, one of the best purchases that I have made too.
Mine is a ten-litre Dimplex DXDH10N Dehumidifier, and I’ve had it for seven or eight years now. I think it was around 95 quid back then. When it rains for days on end, it will suck up maybe five or six litres over a period of 12 hours if I place it in the hallway and open the bedroom doors. Don't overdo it, as you can get headaches or nosebleeds if the air in your home is too dry.
Regarding any kind of mould…
For home cleaning or prepping surfaces for decorating, neat (undiluted) white distilled vinegar will kill most mould and mildew spores, and the vinegar smell quickly disappears.
Contrary to popular belief, the spores feed on bleach and water even though it seems to do a good surface clean-up job initially.
The theory with the vinegar is that they overfeed on it.
The movement or circulation of air is key to keeping mould at bay.
I use Tesco distilled vinegar 568 ml for £0.35 and paper kitchen towels.
Thankyou for sharing your knowledge. Our dehumidifier has been a game changer. Our bedroom has cold spots on the slope of the ceiling, it did not take long once it got to October November time to start getting bad mould. Same with our window bay in the bedroom, since having the dehumidifier we have had nothing. I am being serious when I say it's one of the best things I have purchased.
We have a challenge 12L dehumidifier that's good for sucking the moisture out of the air but I find it eats the electric. The one in the video does seem better because a lot of people will be trying to dry clothes inside this time of year.
This has changed our house, I so love it lol.
So when's the GTech hoover review so I can see if it's any good for cleaning cars.
I don't think this one is good for cleaning cars compared to the Henry, this model isn't that powerful but the upright g tech and the hand held are very lightweight, witch makes it ideal for my wife.
Do you have a dehumdifier per room? Also do you think anti mould paint works and is effective?
This just goes on my landing and does the whole house, prevention is better than the cure they say.
