What I learned from this video: 1. Never buy a GM. (but I already knew this) 2. No scan tool does everything well. (but I already knew this b/c Eric has taught us well) 3. People's cars are disgusting. (so Eric is a saint for his willingness to put his head on their floor to get at a seat connector)

U.S. deaths per mile traveled in a car have dropped to 14% of what they were when I was born. I got my driver's license in 1966. One of my classmates rolled the car he was driving. The roof collapsed utterly and crushed him to death. This inspired me to pay the big bucks for a Volvo in 1972. At that time Volvo was the only car that would not crush the occupants in a rollover. Now every car without exception can roll without crushing the occupants. Watching the car-crash compilation-videos is amazing to me. People walk away from "fatal" accidents all the time. I vividly remember the introduction of the Air Bag (1989), and the crushed-to-death babies. This system will prevent that. Wonderful.
Sadly there was a learning curve with air bags. People would place baby seats against the dash facing backwards so they could keep an eye on the baby. One notable case involved a child standing on the passenger side leaning against the dash. They were involved in a relatively minor crash that was just enough to set off the air bag killing the child.
