    What a relief! Whew! At 16:15 GM warns that, "Taking your eyes off the road while using this system can cause a crash resulting in injury or death." It is so good to know that I have been driving correctly for the last 54 years. Thousands of times I have been tempted into "taking your eyes off the road while using this system." Clearly I have kept my eyes on the road, because I am uninjured and alive after decades of "using this system."

    U.S. deaths per mile traveled in a car have dropped to 14% of what they were when I was born. I got my driver's license in 1966. One of my classmates rolled the car he was driving. The roof collapsed utterly and crushed him to death. This inspired me to pay the big bucks for a Volvo in 1972. At that time Volvo was the only car that would not crush the occupants in a rollover. Now every car without exception can roll without crushing the occupants. Watching the car-crash compilation-videos is amazing to me. People walk away from "fatal" accidents all the time. I vividly remember the introduction of the Air Bag (1989), and the crushed-to-death babies. This system will prevent that. Wonderful.

    • @bcad4066
      @bcad4066 3 года назад

      Sadly there was a learning curve with air bags. People would place baby seats against the dash facing backwards so they could keep an eye on the baby. One notable case involved a child standing on the passenger side leaning against the dash. They were involved in a relatively minor crash that was just enough to set off the air bag killing the child.

    Hi Eric. Those look like my seats in my 2012 chevy Malibu. I learn from watching you about reprogramming the air bag module. Front of the car looks like Malibu

  • @atikovi1
    @atikovi1 3 года назад +1

    GM dealer could program it because he would be using a new module and the factory scan tool recognizes that. GM issued a service bulletin years ago when this platform first came out that modules are vin specific and you can't swap used modules between cars. Autel apparently has a workaround for that.

    Awesome it’s good to know my Autel will get me out of trouble
    I had the same problem with the OEM programming contacted them and they made it sound like I was the one that was screwing up..
    So I guess me and Eric are both screwup’s according to them.
    Be safe everyone airbags are not something to screw with if you don’t know what you’re doing
