No bias. This is my kind of news source.
Simpler times for the newsman, when things weren't constantly falling on his head.
When all he had to worry about was his desk eating him. Xp
@@Pikashockdragon And his hand burning.
I think that's the funnier skits because it's such screwball comedy a la Screwy Squirrel, Looney Tunes and other Tex Avery works.
I am of the age who remember the sound effect as a teletype.
"This Muppet News Flash. Dateline: . . . .umm . . . never mind."
Genius, pure genius!
You cant announce anything with blank paper.
real news
I love it when he runs up to the microphone 😃
That "no news tonight" joke has happened for real. I don't reacall the date but it came up on an episode of QI once.
God They Need To Bring The Muppet Show Back On TV and Have Present Day Celebrity's On There Like, Actor Dustin Hoffman, Actor James Franco, Actor Christian Bale, Actor Adam Driver, Actress Sigourney Weaver, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, etc. etc.
It does not matter if they are old or new.
Sandy Duncan as Billie Lee Bonkers. Genius, pure genius!
Muppet News Flash!
The original Kent Brockman.
“Where do we get these nuts?”
In the 'furniture turning into monsters' story, the sheriff, David Goelz, is the name of Gonzo's puppeteer.
Yes, it is.
Unfortunately, in the DVD subtitles, it was misspelled as Coles. It was corrected for Disney+, though.
8:06 Wouldn't be surprised if the Muppet watching was the sheriff he was talking about.
The inspiration for the Onion.
And Kent Brockman.
Good one
Kemit. love
Great stuff, bring back the Muppet Show and don’t forget the muppet news flash, this is classic.
"a dining room table set for 8 reportly ate the 8 it was set for." i don't why that line makes me laugh but it does
I can just see what the first commercial would have been like if this one went for a break.........
“Bargains! Bargains! Bargains! Yes, come on down to Eugene’s Furniture Warehouse and save big at our monster clearance sale!!!” 😁👍
Most of this season, The Newsman had his glasses, but in some appearances he appeared without glasses and had a different voice before going to speech therapy.
I wonder why he didn't have glasses at first. Also, the voice was still Henson's, but I guess Henson decided to try a different voice after awhile. It was better when he improved it and when he had glasses, since he looks blind without them.
I often wonder the exact same thing, I also wonder why he wasn't wearing his glasses and talked differently in the final Season One episode, The Mummenschanz episode, was this taped before the other episodes or something?
2:24 - hey, look. It's Jim Nabors!
Jim Nabors was gayer than christmas.
11:11 Already the world's longest sentence
Here is a Muppet News Flash!
There is no news tonight.
Better than today's new coverages.
That's not that hard to do.
Can't wait for the Muppet News Flash sketches from Season 2.
Wonder if that sheriff was being threatened by his own desk when he claimed nothing was wrong
“The Atlantic ocean has just been kidnapped-“
DAMN PIRATES
Not just any pirates mind you, it was Sky Pirates!
The scared man should have talked.
Fun fact: In the Monster Furniture newsflash, the Sheriff mentioned is named Goelz, named after Dave Goelz who plays Gonzo, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Beuguard and Waldorf since Jim Henson's death, among others. The DVD subtitles has the blunder of referring Goelz as Coles, most likely to a mishearing from the guy doing the subtitles.
He also plays Zoot and Randy pig
He's still playing Gonzo today!

Guest stars include:
Jim Nabors as Billy Lee Boomer
Paul Williams as Arnold Stockman
Harvey Korman as Carl Boomer (a relative of Billy Lee's?)
Lena Horne as Lola Bramswell
Peter Ustinov as Dr. Felix Ogelbaum
Sandy Duncan as Billie Lee Bonkers
Phyllis Diller as Beverly Sheppard
Valerie Harper as Mrs. Klinger
Twiggy Lawson as Lola Thomas
Kaye Ballard as Gretchen Powers
The woman who ate the tractor should have been Mrs. Klinger.
I don't understand.
@@senhowlerWhy?
@@mevb "Max Klinger" was a character on M.A.S.H. trying to get out of the army by being given a Section 8 release for being crazy. One of his schemes involved eating a Jeep one piece at a time.
@senhowler Haven't seen M.A.S.H. (though I'm aware of it since I was a kid), so I didn't know. Have seen the animated parody M.U.S.H, though.
2:27
Hey if I traveled 89 million something miles without a pitstop I'd do the same thing.
I had no idea that Keith Olbermann was a Muppet until just now.
2:51. About a week ago! Week ago!
I like how Jim Henson uses his Guy Smiley voice for these news flashes.
7:37 the muppet's frustration is so palatable!
7:49 an accurate illustration of the news.
LOL - LOVE EVERY MOMENT OF IT! WISH IT WOULD GET ON THE NEWS NOW A DAYS!
5:11 Aah Aah-choo!
Gesundeit.
0:55
The rest of the US: "Oh no! Anyway..."
This makes more sense than the view by a long shot.
The only news I trust
I wonder how many of these news flash are actually real
So is this guy.... The "Caster Of Muppets?" 😏
Here is a Muppet News Flash. Mayflower 1 the lunar shuttle heads towards disaster somewhere in the far regions of space. I hope Ted Stryker fixes this horrible situation so they all do not end up burnt toast. That must add in Airplane 2 the Sequel.
They bought their tickets. They knew what they were getting into.
I say, let 'em crash.
Amazing that Jim wrote most of and performed all of these.
This only got nuttier in season 2
The Muppet Newsman had a sheet of paper blank on both sides.
The print was in invisible ink.
DC Comics News Flash
Jack Ryder as the Newsman
3:28 So that's what it feels like to be bored of being the undefeated champion.
I don’t think there’s any record for the world’s longest sentence, or flagpole sitting or jumping in place, they sound crazy to me.
Well, what do you expect something that comes from The Muppets? Many things from them makes little to no sense.
This guy doesn't get paid enough!
I like that the clocks are all different times
Different time zones. In news rooms you'll see clocks labelled New York, London, Tokyo, etc.
5:41-Doesn’t She Sound Like Sandy Cheeks From Spongebob??
At 6:13 he says "Dateline: New Brunswick". I live in New Brunswick, the province in Canada. He doesn't say whether it is New Brunswick in Canada or the state of New Jersey.
it's probably referring to New Brunswick, Canada.
It is nice that he refers to New Brunswick, where I live, in Canada. I love references to Canada. Perhaps the guy in the story lived in my area. lol
MichaelBrookham *meanwhile alternative universe*
News guy: dateline at arkham magic gems getting at arkham and killing and destroying Metropolis but
Batman and lilac and her friends stop magic gems wonder woman and superman and robin and here carol the wildcat miss carol
Carol the wildcat: *crying*
News guy: carol...Carol are you crying
Carol the wildcat: *sob* I'll get that robin for this!!!
News guy: why is that
Carol the wildcat: why why why!? Throw bataring on lilac's Shins I'll never forget him NEVER!!! *TEARS RUN Down her CREEKS*
News guy: if I was robin l'll be worried about it
Given the reference to Newark in one of the other clips, it's probably the New Brunswick in New Jersey.
How does anyone kidnap the Atlantic Ocean?
Hey, it is the Muppet Show. Anything is possible.
Or hold an entire state as a hostage?
Alex Phillips
It's a joke. Of course, maybe Donald Trump could do it.
You'd need a really, really big bucket.
"for the grace of the noodle pie..."
9:00 TV monster!!!!!
but it's not furniture, it's electronic!
It’s the muppet show
6:08 there is no news tonight
6:04 Where do we get these nuts
I am of the age that remember the sound effect as a teletype. Bing.
Last I checked, lamps and televisions aren't furniture.
They're electric appliances.
@@billmcdonnell79 Of course they are.
6:03 Anderson Cooper after interviewing Kayleigh McEnany
He smell's funny LMAO XD
10:46 🤣🤣
Lol
He said deez nutz.
Mrs Shepard is just like Icarus
Does the host of this channel share my opinion that the recent attempt to bring the Muppets back to TV has resulted in a parody of the Office?
This is just brilliant.
I didn't think the furniture monsters was a Season 1 sketch.
I'm glad they ditched the guest stars appearing in this after 1. I didn't like it much when they weren't playing themselves.
Where do we get these nuts?!
Thanks for this. I've noticed Disney Muppets has been totally ruined. And if you'll notice, anything under the Disney Muppet channel doesn't allow comments.
Morning Joe is based on him
it's Gomer Pyle at 2:26
Yeah!
6:04 Where do we get these nuts?
Where do we get these nuts?
Do The Muppets have a direct line to Batman?
Still more believable than current news
Nice Looking lady at 4:15.
That was Lena Horne.
@@victorhernandez8723 Yes, it is.
Penguin 2:50
Was the Anchorman voiced by Jim Henson?
Yes
Are all the Boomers related?
5:14
Maybe not.
Find out what you doing now baby girl is sleeping in on the phone and laptop for you to get a new phone so much
Who does the voice
Jim Henson.
Minutes tv monster mesis monster
how is there only 1 comment here
Probably one of the weakest recurring skits of the show.
