    Some people of little knowledge have said Reardon is not relevant and has nothing to do with the modern game ,if it wasn’t for Reardon and Spencer pushing for the professional game and ranking system and to bring the money in to the sport there would have been no Higgins ,White ,Hendry , O’Sullivan etc .Mostly these comments are from Ronnie fan boys that don’t see the game past O’Sullivan .Ronnie himself had great respect for Ray in the way he shipped his game in to more of an all round player .R.I P Ray ,a true great of the game .

      If any Ronnie fan doesn't respect Ray, they aren't a Ronnie fan.

      @@sharpvidtubeincredibly true and they aren't too bright, either. Ronnie, like all of us, highly respect Ray immensely. Classy, highly skilled, nerves of steel, personable, he had everything which is what no one else has had.

      That would be weird for a fan of O'Sullivan to not think Reardon was important, because it's well known he helped Ronnie to become a better player.... odd comment

      The problem is a good proportion of Ronnie fans are just that, Ronnie fans, and not snooker fans. You can tell who they are when they are shouting out on other players' shots and behaving like yobbos while pissed up.

Still have my picture with him and a thanks for the game etc nice letter he wrote me, Rip Ray, a very nice guy all round and great player

    This was a great video. Ray Reardon was a Great champion and a great character. The game has evolved over the years and players do some amazing things. But back in the day players didn’t spend 8 hours a day practicing or have coaching . They just played and entertained us ( which I am grateful for ). Perhaps you could dig out some old footage of Joe & Fred Davis and see what they had to offer the game. 👍👍

  • @PhilBaird1
    @PhilBaird1 2 месяца назад

    Some won't get this, but part of Ray's greatness was the way he moved around the table. Even between shots or selecting his next move he was like a big cat, and he was made for T.V. He had an aura about him and seemed to command the table and his opponent. There was also a mental component to his game that usually gave him the edge. Although he struck the ball beautifully there were better cue-men; but I can't think of another player who carried himself so well and with such grace. Even when he was losing or not at his best he always had that Reardon body language and looked dangerous. The look of a champion. RIP Ray.

    As you are the king of trick shots I would suggest doing the Ray Reardon one as described by Dennis Taylor where he rolls a ball onto the floor then chips the white off the table to hit it. ( I haven’t described it very well but there a clip online of Dennis describing it) He said he’s never seen that trick shot before or since.
