      The last time I rode a bike, I felt tired but okay. Then, when I got home, suddenly I felt incredibly unwell, so bad that I couldn't even get to the living room as I couldn't stand any longer. I left my bike on the curb and laid on my porch, worried I was going to need a doctor but with no strength at all to call one. It turned out my blood pressure dropped so much and suddenly, it happened before, but not as bad as that day. As my head was down in a few minutes I felt a little better and able to put a pinch of salt in my mouth. I used to love riding a bike, but after that day, I got scared 😢

    I would totally disagree promoting only cardio...neurogenesis still occurs during weight training even after the session...by doing cardio, the main driver for neurogenesis is triggered by mainly bdnf while weight training is by igf 1...simply combine both to get the best of both....but if the option is limited to only one,would you rather be skinny and smart or would you rather be jacked and smart a.k.a. Gigachad?

    How is strength training not an aerobic experience? My pulse goes through the roof when lifting weights. It depends on the trained muscle group how high it goes, but I reach a pulse of 160-170 BPM when training legs, so something doesn’t seem right

    • @scarred10
      @scarred10 Год назад +1

      if you go fast enough and long enough sets your HR will be pretty high but the increased vascular resistance during strength training means the heart cannot fill sufficiently for it to be a good cardio workout.Its also not done for long enough continuously.

      Likely to aid in responding the threatening stimuli that caused the “exercise”
      Remember when asking why questions about the human body to take it back to hunter gatherer days. Only reason for exercise back then was to run from a potential threat

    • @OwlCMedicine
      @OwlCMedicine 3 года назад

      @@MrGoodeats or to run for games which was training for hunting another times running was necessary. And hunting was never don't alone until we had guns. so there is likely a connection there. Group oriented exercise would be evolutionary appropriate and social engagement benefits from serotonin. That's my current hypothesis anyway. The programing for what transmitters are released for what reasons in what settings is very old and difficult to pin down.

    • @Alilamedicalmedia
      @Alilamedicalmedia  5 лет назад +16

      Unlikely, passive blood flow may not do much. The brain needs to be active and require that flow, only then it makes changes to adapt to higher blood supply.
