Today's guest for the show is an excellent example of women empowerment; she is not only a field Scientist, but she is also an owner of Performance Crop Research (PCR) located in Great Bend, Kansas, and co-owner of South Bend Industrial Hemp. PCR is equipped with a 6' Kincaid/Great Plains Plot Drill, 4-row planter with in-furrow and seed treatment capabilities and 2021 Almaco RX small plot combine, and a 16-row Case IH Early Rise Planter and Case IH 8010 Combine. Whereas, South Bend focuses on helping grow the hemp industry in Kansas. They grow for flowers, which supplies their CBD line right on their farm. Also, South Bend grows dual purpose varieties and working towards developing the grain and fibre industry.
On top of all, she has access to 2500 acres in Central Kansas, where she carried out independent crop research. Annually she grows hemp, corn, sorghum, winter wheat, rye teff grass, canola vegetables, sugar beet and soybeans in her various facilities such as dryland, irrigated capabilities, as well as a small indoor greenhouse. She has experience in efficacy, GLP residue, and GMO work and has been working on crop research for 7+ years.
