    I just started watching your videos recently and love them. I started watching your Georgia video because I loved the country when I was there only to realize I was staying at Fabrika hostel when you were parked out front and realized I remember seeing your truck and thinking how awesome it looked back then.

    Barry from Australia...you wouldn't read about it...too funny 😂 for those of you from other countries Barry (also known as Bazza) is a quintessential old school Aussie name.

      Isn't it classic 😂
      When we walked down that street and I first see the Akubra, then the Queensland plates on the bike then introduces himself as Barry it was like a bloody set up 😜

    Hi Both of you :) It's me ( Sander ) again that guy who wants to travel overland from Belgium to turkey ;-) I am planning my camping spots ahead to have something to hold on to if I don't find anything while I'm traveling. You guys mentioned multiple times the app maps.me to find some cool camping spots. How does this work? Can I download those locations form a database or can you send them to me? How did you guys find your cool camping spots? Greets from Belgium! ;-)

      Hello again
      Don't stress too much about finding the campsites.
      Part of the adventure is to find amazing places to spend the night 😉
      I use maps.me and look for small trails or lakes etc
      You should never leave it too late and don't rush your journey.
      Start to look for a campsite as early as 2pm.
      If you find something beautiful just stop even if it's early. Enjoy that lovely campsite.
      It's not always easy though, sometimes you get visitors in the night which can be a little scary.
      Another tip is in remote areas if you see a farmer or villager ask then if you can camp in their field.
      Do you also have the iOverlander app?
      This is a great app with heaps of campsites and other information for overlanders. It's free also.
      Remember though it's always more satisfying to find your own campsite and not follow in other people's footsteps.
      If we are late or it's getting dark we will sometimes use iOverlander.
      If there are any particular campsites you've seen in our videos that you really want to camp at then we will send you the gps coordinates no problem.
      We have them saved for every campsite since starting our journey 😉

      @@leighdearle5965 Cool, thank you for your response! As we only have one month I'm looking to drive +-6 hours a day and then camp for a while if we find a really nice camping spot.

      @@mknives8472 cool well don't forget if you want the gps coordinates to any particular camp site you've seen us at then and an email and we'll send them to you 😉

    So that concrete monolith has no purpose other than aesthetic (and for climbing)? Can't believe it is so warm there, my African mind imagines that whole region would be buried in snow from 1st September.

    • @leighdearle5965
      @leighdearle5965 5 лет назад +2

      Even the locals forget who it was a monument to, some Soviet writer they told us. So cool that the city has given it to the climbing community to create the urban climbing wall. Bolting this thing is definitely OK 😜
      It's still very warm here in Kazakhstan. Getting cool at nights though...

      @@leighdearle5965 Cool. Have you guys done a map of your route for the next few months?

    • @leighdearle5965
      @leighdearle5965 5 лет назад +1

      @@OverlandingMan no we never plan very far ahead as it changes by the day 😉
      The only thing certain is to arrive in Bishkek by the 20th December as we have an apartment booked for 6 weeks.
      We will spend another 2/3 weeks here in Kazakhstan before crossing Uzbekistan over 4 weeks from West to East.

    Oh my god! Was that tower built just for climbing? I think I could go 6, may 10 feet up. =) Great video. Edit: OK I read later in the comments the reason for the tower.
