    Take a look at the crankbreather pipe they are flimsy plastic and because only a 4m hole and covered in the plastic hose protector you don't see leeks. Mine were broken both. Sides of the t joint and when I removed from each manifolds they just disintegrated

      Hello and thank you for your advice. I haven't any time to have a look at it since. My Father in law is back from his holiday and uses it a lot. I will certainly have a look at the breather pipes, you are right, things are very brittle.

      Any chance you could explain somehow where this crankbreather pipe is located? Please, it would mean a lot.

      Thanks very much Rick. I haven't had much time to look at it since. My father in law is back from holiday on Tuesday, so will have one more look.
      Thanks again for your help.

    Hi Jeff, Gutted mate, That's modern diesels for you all these sensors, filters more trouble than they worth and diesels don't like short runs the clog up easy, my brother has a Vauxhall Insignia CDTI all he does is a 7 mile trip to work and back home anther 7 miles it not enough for a diesel engine you need to do 20-25 mile trip to benefit having a diesel car. About 20 years ago the UK government were advising the public to by a diesel car saying they are cheap to run but what they were not telling the public they don't like short runs. years a go a neighbour bought a VW Polo TDI diesel all she was doing was 3/4 of a mile trip to the local shops and twice a week going in to Wrexham which is less than 4 miles away and with in 6-8 month all engine lights on the dash and then she was tolled that a diesel car was not suited for her, she never had this trouble before with petrol cars, she wen't back to petrol and bought a Nissan Micra 1.2 no bother at all. I hope things get sorted out with the farther in laws Jaguar, I bet you can't wait to get back on your bikes again that smell of petrol and two stroke oil,. As always a great video Take care mate

      Hi Shaun, yes diesels can be a pain. When I owned it I very rarely had the DPF warning on. I used to drive 10 miles to work and back and was fine.
      All my Father in law does mainly is two miles each way to drop my Mother in law off, it doesn't even get warm.
      Work is killing me at the moment, I finish at 2.10am and then the clocks go forward. I have tried to get some bits and pieces together to try and make a video on Monday for the Velosolex.
      I probably will be sleeping most of tomorrow, it's been a six day week.
      Take care, Jeff

      @shaun30-3-mg9zs I'm trying not to Shaun. My manager got me off early last night that should have been 1.30. I have to go and get my Mum's shopping every day, she's 92 and can't get out.
      I have to find the odd hour here and there so I have something to show for the following week.
      In two and a half weeks, I have got 23 days off, so might have time to go back to the Jaguar.
      Take care, Jeff

      I had a similar issue on my 2011 3.0 XF. I replaced both MAF sensors in the end. I got secondhand ones. Cleared the codes and all golden. Cleaning them was a waste of time (for me).

      @DiecastPowderCoating  8 месяцев назад +1

      @TheOnkeys Hi that's good to know. I thought about changing them, but thought I would probably be throwing more money away. I will speak to my father in law and recommend changing them.
      Thanks once again.
      Take care, Jeff

    Tried swapping the MAF's over to see if the problem shifts to the other bank? Also, had something similar regarding the "circuit B" range on my 2.7 which I sorted by running some EGR cleaner directly through the intake (Wynns).... worth a try maybe?

    Hi Jeff
    Have you erased all faults delete all faults then do a rescan has sometimes the engine will keep all old faults after you done repaired worth a go mate I hate modern engines all these warning lights on dash m.o.t failers irs all to these garages in work like all these pot holes mass hottest do cause these warning lights to come on and sometimes make a car go in to limo mode this could have a fault in it it would need a good scanner to check this fully out Hope you sort it mate two stroke lot easier to sort out 😮
    Phil in stoke

      @DiecastPowderCoating  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Phil, someone in a previous comment said he had the same problem with his Jaguar. In the end he replaced both MAF sensors and that sorted all his problems. I just need to convince my father in law to buy two new ones.
      Although the restricted performance and DPF warnings are on, the engine management light is not.
      Just had a very bad run of late shifts, but hopefully will be able to get a video done on the Velosolex, for next week.
      Take care, Jeff

    You need to smoke test the inlet system. Sounds very much like the inlet manifold is cracked on bank 1. Those fault codes are common for that failure. Smoke test will prove. Good luck.

    • @DiecastPowderCoating
      @DiecastPowderCoating  8 месяцев назад

      Hi and thanks for your help. I was dreading the inlet manifold cracking. I have noticed that there is some oil in the v of the engine under the oil filter, but that's not leaking.
      I will try the smoke test on the inlet.
      Thanks again,
      Take care, Jeff

    cracked inlet manifold ?

    • @DiecastPowderCoating
      @DiecastPowderCoating  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Peter, that was one that I didn't want to think about. I have heard that they are not that strong. If it did have a leak it would probably be bank 1 inlet. I think I will have to dig deeper when I get chance.
      Take care, Jeff

      Hi Alan, yes they are an absolute pain. I have three weeks off in a couple of weeks, so might have another off camera go at it.
      My Father in law is back at the end of the month.

    nice car.... but buy a small folding table to put bits on . Nothing worse than a engine with tools, can and bolts etc on top ! Ive always blanked off EGR's and had them mapped out . Cars run so much better !

    • @DiecastPowderCoating
      @DiecastPowderCoating  Месяц назад

      You're absolutely right. I always mean to put up a table of some kind, but always forget. No matter wherever you think is safe around an engine, I always lose something.
      The Jaguar still has the problems, but my father in law always needs it. He has just gone away for a six month holiday, so when I get time I will dig deeper.
      Take care Jeff
