      @@lucypedzinski1403 Looks are more subjective and many do find her attractive. Also, being exciting and/or drama filled is not always good. As for class, they are talking about sportsmanship. She is definitely above average compared to many players and has been regularly praised for how well she treats other players. If you want examples for comparison, look at her behavior compared to Putintseva or Ostapenko.

    With so many walkovers before, Elena Wimbledon performance is actually better than expected. We know you are a top player who can win any slam when you can play your best. But we don’t know whether health issues, mental strength or game plan against opponents that hinder you from playing your best. If you want to win another slam, you need to figure out these and become stronger. But I still like your game even you lose!!

      No, not great. After the seeds above her lost she was the favourite having won 2 years ago. She had difficult and great opponents but you know what top tier players do, they find a way. Once things got difficult and Barbora started playing better resorted to garbage play and cost herself the match. Barbora was making alot of mistakes too and giving Elena chances to come back. She could not. Lost on her best surface after having good chance to make the final and even win the title again. She does not have enough titles and slam wins to be missing these opportunities. She is not in the same position as Swiatek or Alcaraz.

    She have to adjust like Serena,when her serve is not working and win points, in rallys, especially moving and getting behind the ball ,to play the strokes properly, and reduce her unforced errors . Also she needs to practice to play the low bouncing ball on her back hand ,by bending and getting getting under the ball and stopping it from going into the net.
    She.Should make these adjustments for us open.

    Love Elena, but she needs a plan B if her big serve isn't on point and her big power shots are going long or just out! As soon as that happens she often loses her timing and loses match! Barbora was smart and is the only player who can really disrupt Elena's rigid game with her variety of strokes and different pace of shots which really disrupt Elena's routine and timing. Elena gets into a zone and can stoppable, but if you disrupt her by slowing down the game or using slice she can suddenly start missing her shots! She should win at least 3 Wimbledon's during her career I believe though! ❤

  • @got2bharmony
    @got2bharmony Месяц назад +1

    Barbora played very well but Elena lost the match for principally 3 reasons.
    1 - her 1st serve wasn't reliable and wasn't hitting the required spots.
    2- She lacked energy and made it too easy for Barbora to hit winners by not pressing
    3 - Her groundstrokes were too often long or wide. Given how hard she hits the ball, she depends on movement and muscle memory. For some reason there was an issue but let's be realistic, at this level it takes very little to change from winning comfortably to losing.
    For sure she needs to work on her movement and getting herself more fired up and work with a sports psychologist to find that balance of aggression and control. Very easy for us armchair players, but this is what is required to be a consistent champion.

    Elena lost to a mediocre player. It was all on her racket. It shouldn't have even been close. Too many unforced errors, maybe from lack of focus, and too many first serves not in. And when her first serves were in, she was not hitting her spots. She was being too careful from frustration, I think, so she was serving almost down the middle, straight at her opponent, so all Barbora had to do was stick out her racket and stab at it to get the ball in play. Not even a full swing for return. It was very maddening to watch cuz I'm such a huge fan. Very frustrating. Take positives, Elena, but I know Stefano is gonna have plenty to say like this.

    I find the conversation around Rybakina very interesting. I’m a big Coco Gauff fan and I am used to people criticizing every match and her technique even when she wins. But when it comes to Rybakina people put her on a pedestal and seemingly want to give her credentials I personally don’t feel like she’s earned. I think it’s because Rybakina beats Iga and Coco doesn’t but Coco has much more consistency especially in the grand slams hence her ranking being higher. Both ladies have the same amount of grand slams 1 and 1 title difference but separated by 5 years but the way they are spoken about is different.

    • @user-dr5eh6xz2d
      @user-dr5eh6xz2d Месяц назад

      Because Coco can't consistently beat top players. Look at her draw this tournament. Very easy first three rounds then the first difficult opponent and she gets spanked. It's easy to collect points for wta rankings when you get draws like that, so looking at rankings anime is flawed. It would help if Coco she could beat iga. The list of those is short so if Coco could do that it would go a long way. Ryb has at least a 500 record against the top players. She loses to typically the tournament winner. Also look at Coco's losses in the last 6 months. She's lucky to not have to play those type of players in the slams. If she did you would see her lose earlier but again the draw gods

    • @Lederius18
      @Lederius18 Месяц назад

      @@user-dr5eh6xz2d totally inaccurate. Look at the last couple of grand slams, Coco has only lost to the winner with the exception of Emma at Wimbledon and this goes back a couple of years. RG losing to Iga 3 years in a row which no one has beat her there. Coco never has the easy draw because Iga is always in it. Emma was not an easy opponent and Coco cannot help that the seeds lost to qualifiers. If it were easy to get points, why are the others behind Coco? Why is Sabalenka falling in rankings? Why can’t Rybakina catch coco? If you’re doing to be a hater be factual and fair

      @@Lederius18 her draws are typically easy in grand slams. You are proving my point. In GS she rarely runs into the kind of players that can beat her. If she played more players that were athletic and good at defense like kostyuk, siniakova, Navarro, she would lose more often and her ranking would be lower. Her draws are matchup favorable. I'm pointing to facts. Look at who she has lost to in the last 6 months. That shows the real truth of how beatable she is. It's short-sighted to only focus on grand slams when iga other top players are also winning wta 1000s

      She wasn't mentally weak at all. Krejcikova played her very best to beat Elena by a very slim margin in three sets. Winning a grand slam is very difficult. Only six of the top 10 female players in the world even have 1 grand slam victory (and Elena is one of them). Only two have more than 1 (Sabalenka with 2 and Swiatek with 5, 4 of which are French Opens).

      @@jameslee1062 Say as you please, she didn't step up while she had the chance, this means that she isn't a top, she's a very good player, a nice looking one, but not as good as Swiatek or Sabalenka, the only two champions currently in activity. Rybakina had a very good chance to reach them but failed. Eventually she will have another one anytime soon.

      @@westonmeyer3110 she has one very significant advantage over her main rivals. Her tennis education only started at 18, before that she was training in groups, meaning that unlike her rivals her game is not rigid. You know it, I know it that if you have a coach training you at a very young age your game is 'fixed' making it very difficult to change to another style of playing. You look at Iga's serve. The technique is too rigid even with a new coach there's not much improvement. Rybakina's game even at this stage, she's 25, her game is still very 'flexible', she's not rigid. If there's one advice I can give her it's learn new techniques, stay healthy and set a real goal of tennis immortality. In 2028, she will be in absolute peak physical condition to make a run for a Golden Slam, all 4 Slams and Olympic gold in LA. Now if she succeeds her place in tennis history is beyond dispute.

    I love Elena but she’s very much a rhythm player and her victories rely heavily on getting good rhythm and momentum. Barbora is a feel and finesse player and more importantly a doubles player meaning she’s got excellent serve and returns. It was simply a bad matchup for Elena and their H2H explains it all. Tough one.
