Can particle physicist be quant? I used millions of crunching data sets from LHC data to search for exotic particles. We applied alot of modelling machine learning and hypothesis testing but more to frequentist (based on my topic) we didn’t used bayesian. Would that help?
Real question is, can quant be particle physicist? You are more than qualified all you need to learn is the finance aspect which is the easiest part imo
@@XD-by2gu sorry just opened the comment. thanks! I have applied to some entry level positions but apparently no response so far. would the finance employer consider my application or they still want me to have knowledge on financial markets?
@@katewolf00 thank you for the compliment!. most PhD in particle physicist i have met so far they have engineering background/ or masters in physics/ mathematics. They just need to learn the standard model and some collider physics. but during the phd most students will learn the topic during the PhD. I have also met a person from financial math studying particle physics during masters. I'm not sure how the employer side consider my field and what requirements they need from me as a non finance background.
Your work as a physicist is more beneficial to mankind than working for wall street. It's a shame that the latter is more appealing. Gotta have that lamborghini and Colombian hookers.
Extremely insightful and exciting. Thank you for the interview Andrew.
You need a background in statistics, computer scìence, and the scientific method
This was a great intro! Thank you!
Please what does it take to become an energy trader?

imo, absolutely, if you gather data, model it and take some assumptions upon it, why don't you try?

Can you make a video on Quant developer career
This is not helpful at all...just beating about the bush. No real substance.
Nah it's really good stuff actually
@@philipbuicode yeah real good stuff
@emmanuelameyaw9735 give me the good stuff.. I need some
@@philipbuicode if you think this is a good stuff then quant's not for you or you're either trolling
Helps if you’re white and male
Also helps if one is open minded and willing to be wrong.
