I met him at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood. He was soooooooooo nice, and sooo cool. He's cooler in real life than Johnny Bender in TBC. But, TBC is still my fave movie of all time, and Bender is still my all time fave character.
I used to imitate Bender whenever we played Basketball during Gym Class in middle and high school. I made a few girls laugh when I did that. Some of them didn't get the reference. I assumed most of them only liked the newer teen movies (She's All That, Drive Me Crazy, 10 Things I Hate About You, Can't Hardly Wait, etc). This, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Back to the Future parts I and II as well as the original Karate Kid trilogy were some of the best 80s teen movies.
So fun story, the word "HEEPWAH" means all things good in Huron, and at camp Ondessonk, a summer camp in southern Illinois the director for this movie went to uses that word instead of clapping (I work there so this movie is legendary to me) don't know if anyone really cares, but there ya go
Every line in this movie was absolutely fantastic. I don't remember anything from the 80s I remember this movie This movie defined the 80s for me in so many ways. So many memories generated.
