- I sit down to review the winner of my "What should I Buy Next" video on Wild Turkey-Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon. This was the clear favorite from the crowd, so here's hoping it's as good as you all said!
Russell's Reserves Single Barrel is 110 proof and right around $60. It's pretty widely available and a highly rated whiskey from Wild Turkey. It's one I've had my eye on for a while, so let's dive in!

Got to try this for the first time tonight and my first and last thought was, "caramel bomb, with a good spice burn". Glad to see my palate wasn't alone. Great review.
i was a firm believer that wild turkey was bottom shelf due to how cheap the name sounded, now wild turkey 101 is my daily ever since they revamped the bottles and aged them longer, rare breed used to be my top of wild turkey till i tried the RR single barrel, but they are tough to find now, enjoy
Yeah from my perspective getting into bourbon less than two years ago, Wild Turkey is just one of the best, accessible and affordable brands out there. Rare Breed and RR SiB are both so good. Cheers!!

I’m big on Russels but for some reason Rare Breed and Spirit hit the spot better for me but great video
Nothing wrong with that! I definitely need to blind Rare Breed and Russel’s Reserve SiB against one another soon because I really enjoy both. Never had the Kentucky Spirit. Sounds like you recommend it? I’ve just never been sure it’s worth the extra price over Rare Breed.
@@thebourbonhutch9574 Spirit I take any day over RB and RR. It’s more refined and more expensive for good reason. I think it’s 101 proof but man the flavors pop

Yeah it's really good. I've pretty much enjoyed everything I've tried from Wild Turkey.
The mouth feel on this bottle is as good or better as anything I have ever had.
The viscosity is crazy thick.
Admittedly, EXCELLENT video. Additionally, be on the lookout for the RR SB Private Selection. Those usually are barrels from rickhouse A 4th floor. It would be interesting to do a video on Wild Turkey's Rare Breed, RR SB, and RR SB PS.

You get an age statement on the "select" or "store picks" of Russell Reserve
Yeah, this is just the standard shelfer but I've hear the store picks can be incredible!

Russel’s is great! I’d recommend starting with the 10-year Russel’s. It’s the white label one and is usually around $30. Hard to beat price-wise for something that old. To me it’s got great vanilla, oak and spice flavors. Of you like that, you’ll really enjoy this one too I think. Cheers!
Yes. This is a good bottle. It's easy on the palate for beginners but complex enough for more experienced drinkers looking for something neat. Brown sugar for days with red fruit. Warm with good mouth feel. Peppery but not alcohol forward like reviewer said. It's one of my very favorite bottles... maybe put Bardstown Discovery ahead of it, but it's not fair to compare the two at the prices. Can't go wrong with this. Great sipping whiskey. Great value. Much love. I need a couple more. My first bottle is low enough that I'm starting to ration it. lol

I've had that one recommended before! I know Mesquite wood is part of the process there which sounds like it would lend some interesting flavors. Plus, Matthew McConaughey is pretty cool. I'll have to buy it and review it soon! Thanks and cheers!

Just got a bottle today about $65.95. It's ok, but I think rare breed fit's my taste profile better. But that's just me.
I love both, but Rare Breed certainly has the advantage now being a much better price. Cheers!

I have! I got to taste all the 2022 releases. I have a bottle of 2022-04 (Pinkie's Batch) and 2023-01 (Charlie's Batch). I definitely enjoy both but they are both punchy and hot. Cheers!
Only time I've seen it here in HI, it's been $100 or more. Found a place today that had 2 bottles stashed in the back for $80. I asked them to hold a bottle for me while I think about buying it and they were nice enough to do so. Worth $80 in your opinion?
Thanks for commenting! Ultimately it's up to you if you think the flavor profile is something you'd like and want to try. I will say that I believe $80 is the new MSRP on this bottle, so it has gone up in price. I see it on shelves for $80 or more now. If it was a store pick at $80 I wouldn't hesitate to grab it. At $80 for the standard single barrel...it's probably still worth that but I wouldn't pay more than that. Given that you don't see it anywhere else for less than $100 this seems like your best bet to get it at a worthy price. For $65 it was phenomenal...so $80 isn't terrible, just wish it had stayed the same. Hope that helps. What a crazy market for whiskey these days...cheers!
@The Bourbon Hutch Yes, thanks for the reply! I've been finding delicious bottles of Jack Daniel's SiBBP for $65, so it's hard to pull the trigger on other bottles in the same or above that price. But i do enjoy WT101 as well as Rare Breed and RR10, so might get the RR SiB. Great content and I hope you continue to grow on this platform!

I actually do have a bottle and it’s one of my favorites! I did a comparison video between it and the OF 1910 which has long been another favorite of mine. They were neck and neck for me. Here’s the video! Cheers :)
