Bought the Nexus 10 today and I am very happy with it. I don't really miss 3G. I got the N7 3G version and after two months I just started using tethering instead of feeding the additonal sim card and so far it works well (there are some good apps for tethering, even through bluetooth to avoid provider restrictions). If you like the iPad, buy the iPad. To each their own :). My only advice: Spend money somewhat wisely, if you only play games and use facebook, buying a tablet might be unwise...
Do you get to keep these tablets you review? And you must like tablets a lot, you review a bunch more then most. But don't get me wrong I'm glad you do because not to many do tablet reviews.
There is some lag for about a second after you close an app, or after you boot it up. Otherwise, it in pretty good. About what you would get from a Nexus 7, if you have one of those. I expect things to be getting better with the next release, though.
The tablet's specs and OS make up for the massive bezzle and awkward design. And to be honest, I personally like wider bezzles, because if im holding it to watch a video/movie, or doing something where I dont want to cover the screen, I can comfortably hold my thumbs on the bezzle without touching or blocking the screen.
Is this better than the galaxy note 10.1?? Please help me out. I want an android tablet for browsing, lots of video, gaming, and just other basic tasks. Which tablet is better for me??
Yes, indeed. It's a Nexus device so you'll obtain updates directly from Google, no long delays, no manufacturer bloatware (Touchwiz, Sense UI etc..). Plus it has the most advanced specs for an Android tablet.
Where Can I Get One Nexus 10 in Mexico? :/ I've searching for it, but i just dont find it, and on google's online store it isn't avalivable in Mexico :P
I'll always wonder why they didn't go with a quad core on the Nexus 10. It feels like is a no brainier to do that since they decided to put one on the Nexus 7.
woah! this is cheap and awesome! I even have the money for it myself! After christmas, I might consider it. But I'm probably gonna get an iPad so.. yeah. Anyways, nice video, you're awesome!
It's in my wish list, apart the Asus Transformer Infinity TF700 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1...the only bad thing about this tablet is the lack of SD card slot, cannot add more juice :) and the rear camera shoots only in 720p.
The dual core Exynos 5 in the Nexus 10 murders the quad core Tegra 3 in the Nexus 7. The Tegra in the Nexus 7 is only 1.2 GHz, while the Exynos in the Nexus 10 is at 1.7 GHz, that's nearly a 50% increase in frequency. Not only that, but the Exynos 5 is based on Cortex A15 architecture, which is light years ahead of the Cortex A9 used in the Tegra 3. Then there's the fact that the Mali-T604 graphics in the Exynos runs circles around the GeForce graphics in the Nexus 7. Don't only judge by cores.
the reason why im getting a note is firstly, S Pen. I would get a note phone too, but I already have a pretty modern phone, a samsung galaxy S2. It's not S3, but it works. Secondly, Nexus 10 won't release in sweden until like 2014.
Interesting one of PhoneArena's own early reports showing the iPad 4 wiping the floor with it in terms of graphics performance...hmmm.."When it comes to the iPad 4, however, it seems that the quad-core PowerVR GPU is leaps and bounds ahead everything else, and exactly what was needed for superior gaming performance on the high-res display."-- PhoneArena
to solve your first problem, get the "nexus media importer" app for 2.99 on google play. also buy a male mini usb to female usb otg cable off amazon for 1 to 3 dollars. then you can put videos images and songs on a usb. doing this adds some bulk to the tablet, but it can save you some cash.
the processor of n10 - dual core exynos 1.7ghz based on a new architecture ARMA15cortex . around 50% increase in performance guaranteed when compared with tegra 3 in nexus 7.
its not about the number of the cores. the processor of nexus 10 is way better than any other quadcore tablets/phones out there. They used the most advanced and the next generation of processors in the nexus 10
the quadrant score of the nexus 7=around 3500 the quadrant score of th nexus 10=around 5000 Another question? Geekbench 2 score: Nexus 7: around 14000 Nexus 10: Around 27000 That is not a processor "problem" bacause they can't put a quadcore, but the problem is from battery, there isn't enough battery.
the nexus 10 uses the most powerfull chips to date the reason it sometimes laggs is becouse of the huge ass resolution the more pixels on the screen the more horsepower you need to render them
they focused on the features, more than having a display that's used for nothing. it's only choppy with the US version that only has dual core processors while the european one has quad core. and it's only choppy when using multiscreen which is self explanatory. But, if you like the iPad, go ahead, but you don't have the right to bash on others.
Better than any A9 Quad core, but with different types that are comparable to A15, like Krait and Swift, a Quad core could very well be more powerful than a dual core A15 like this. That being said, this processor is still a beast
google can prove u are wrong , nexus 10 uses a new generation of procesor , it may be a dual core but its a fast dual core , faster then the old quad cores u se in galaxy s3 or tegra 3
well that's like having a ferrari italia engine and using it inside a car that weighs 5x more than ferrari italia... users care about real world performance of what they buy...not the complexity of the hardware... why would u squeeze in more pixels than the cpu can actually handle smoothly???
Agreed...iOS doesn't lag...but the multi-tasking king powered by Cortex A15s lags when it is given the opportunity to demonstrate one of its core features...gotcha..
mah, blocket is a person-to-person site where ou look up something you want, you don't need an account, there will probably be a bunch of ads. not the annoying kind, it's what the site's for. you find a good one and contact the person. either you go there and pay cash, or the person comes to you and you give him/her the cash or you can pay directly through an account that's easy to get and use. But there isn't any nexus 10's there i think. plus i get sohorny when i see the note commercial... xD
The OTG USB option is READ-ONLY you CANNOT write to the storage device. This is because of purposeful changes made to the Android OS to prevent writes. You cannot backup, unload , archive etc. you can't do shit. The Nexus's storage capabilities have been crippled ! The problem is more insidious than you can know. What will be disabled tomorrow ?
The biggest adventage of istuff is that apps are written dedicated on them. It's closed ecosystem and it's easier to optimize on iOS than on Android which has 32423424324 versions with different api etc. . On the other hand, this will be the flag Google device, so i guess Google will push developers to optimize apps for this tablet and 4.2 android. Second, specs like this, give developers more space to create sth fenomenal looking, i'm looking forward for games designed on this.
Yeah!. For a device with such a quality screen, an msata slot would be THE THING to have!. You can get msata SSD for $100 at 128GB sizes!!! I would gladly say Bye-bye to MicroSD in his case. Also how much is it to ask about a FullSize SD slot that cameras use ?. And full size USB port ?. Enthusiasts want to boot various OS builds from different partitions of flash, for ease of testing and linger term usage. Why limit storage options ?.
I'm a random person that answered this not the guy you replied before. Of course the ivy bridge i5 will be better, because intel makes more expensive cpu's, but they are much better in performance than AMD cpu's and the phenom is 2 generations older. 2 Cores vs 4 cores isn't the same thing as 4v6 tough... and android OS tablets and phones are all mysterious, they are all unoptimised and shit and cause problems either its a 2 core or a 4 core phone :)
I'm apple fans. But android don't lag anymore from jelly bean. Ios and android Just a different os experience. Choose either one but don't hate others. Peace. :)
Bought the Nexus 10 today and I am very happy with it. I don't really miss 3G. Is this a good tablet to use at school? I'm entering college next year and would like to know if I can use it there.
Can you draw on this tablet? and can you use like a word processor alike to office words?
Can you lock the screen from touch-input while watching a movie with the stock browser?
Those sim card holders u talked about are actually magnets i heard to be for a smart cover to latch on to like the iPad
It is a tough choice! Do I choose the Nexus or the Joooooohn V? Hmmm I want both.
Do you get to keep these tablets you review? And you must like tablets a lot, you review a bunch more then most. But don't get me wrong I'm glad you do because not to many do tablet reviews.
Wow, that effin' bezel. Deal breaker!!!!

Great Review!!!
how about the productivity apps? office and adobe acrobat?
@PhoneArena those 2 things (4:00) are the NFC
Yes, indeed. It's a Nexus device so you'll obtain updates directly from Google, no long delays, no manufacturer bloatware (Touchwiz, Sense UI etc..). Plus it has the most advanced specs for an Android tablet.
Video comparison against the new ipad??
nice job on this review, well spoken and informative
Does this tablet lag in the basic UI?? Like is it as smooth as jellybean is supposed to be??
Does it have a micro sd? (Im planning to buy it this christmas :D my first tablet )
Not being an apple fanboy or anything... But my question is: if it has the most powerful processor why wouldn't it be able to handle of those pixels?
will it blend?
Where can I get one ... in Brazil?
Ah, I should have done my research before asking that question lol.
Btw, do you have a Nexus 10? If so, how is it?
Where Can I Get One Nexus 10 in Mexico? :/ I've searching for it, but i just dont find it, and on google's online store it isn't avalivable in Mexico :P
I finally get mine tomorrow in the mail! :)
Any good reason why?
New Apple iPad is coming with 128gb.
No problem, the Nexus 10 will hold it's own,
it has an SD card.
Right ?
Thats what i was waiting for in tablets, a really good resolution, ITS JUST AWESOME!!!
u shoot a video of the highest resolution tablet and its not even 1080p what the hell
I'll always wonder why they didn't go with a quad core on the Nexus 10. It feels like is a no brainier to do that since they decided to put one on the Nexus 7.
I heard it lags/under performs due to the display being 1080p. Is this true?
Can u connect a thumb drive?
how many times did he change the wallpaper?? 10 11 times maybe
I have the Motorola Xoom but I think this may be the best of the two. ..but I will never give up my Xoom.
Why nexus brand never comes with sdcard and why it dose not have 3g
Having problems connecting through MTP. Please Help.
Why? This is a Cortex A15 SOC, beasts most quad cores out there.
woah! this is cheap and awesome! I even have the money for it myself! After christmas, I might consider it. But I'm probably gonna get an iPad so.. yeah. Anyways, nice video, you're awesome!
Nexus 7 I found perfect for uni because of the form factor. Also perfect for games
It's in my wish list, apart the Asus Transformer Infinity TF700 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1...the only bad thing about this tablet is the lack of SD card slot, cannot add more juice :) and the rear camera shoots only in 720p.

It seems the Nexus 10 is already released... Oh well, I still want the note. I think.
So John v. I love to hear the story of how you got into the tech world and land the job or own phone arena.
this the table i've been looking for!! I wish I gonna owned it someday
the reason why im getting a note is firstly, S Pen. I would get a note phone too, but I already have a pretty modern phone, a samsung galaxy S2. It's not S3, but it works. Secondly, Nexus 10 won't release in sweden until like 2014.
Still don't know why they dropped the Tablet UI...
Interesting one of PhoneArena's own early reports showing the iPad 4 wiping the floor with it in terms of graphics performance...hmmm.."When it comes to the iPad 4, however, it seems that the quad-core PowerVR GPU is leaps and bounds ahead everything else, and exactly what was needed for superior gaming performance on the high-res display."-- PhoneArena
guys you think this nexus 10 are running on 4.2.2?
to solve your first problem, get the "nexus media importer" app for 2.99 on google play. also buy a male mini usb to female usb otg cable off amazon for 1 to 3 dollars. then you can put videos images and songs on a usb. doing this adds some bulk to the tablet, but it can save you some cash.
the processor of n10 - dual core exynos 1.7ghz based on a new architecture ARMA15cortex . around 50% increase in performance guaranteed when compared with tegra 3 in nexus 7.
sold on google website. International transport available. Extra tax required depending on country.
its not about the number of the cores. the processor of nexus 10 is way better than any other quadcore tablets/phones out there. They used the most advanced and the next generation of processors in the nexus 10
I want HTC to make the next Nexus 10. With the HTC One's design it would be a KILLER Tablet!
the quadrant score of the nexus 7=around 3500
the quadrant score of th nexus 10=around 5000
Another question?
Geekbench 2 score: Nexus 7: around 14000 Nexus 10: Around 27000
That is not a processor "problem" bacause they can't put a quadcore, but the problem is from battery, there isn't enough battery.
I'm waiting for other companies to step up and make a tablet with this resolution with full USB OTG and SD Card slots.
Except for the initial Nexus release (Nexus One), all Nexus has had no SD card slot (Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, 7, 10).
SMH
the nexus 10 uses the most powerfull chips to date
the reason it sometimes laggs is becouse of the huge ass resolution
the more pixels on the screen the more horsepower you need to render them
nexus is probably a little faster, if you're doing the US version of both. But both are really good tablets.
you changed the wallpaper a lot of times
It's got a 1.9 megapixel front facing camera, it's not "1.3" megapixels.
You seem to have great music taste man :) 30stm
nexus 7 because of it is comfortable to hold and it has a very smooth experience :-)
tell me why its better ?
they focused on the features, more than having a display that's used for nothing. it's only choppy with the US version that only has dual core processors while the european one has quad core. and it's only choppy when using multiscreen which is self explanatory. The architecture of the processor is much stronger than a quad.

Nice review! Thanks!
I'm watching this on my Nexus 10!

4:12 "Or even an ice cream tablet" lol
hey jooooooooooonn V here from pHOooone arena
I just love how big it is

Seems like a great buy, if a bit laggy.
10 days remaining im gonna get this nexus 10 & keep my s4 back on the box ;)
if they put LTE and a micro SD card on it - it would be perfect.
It's cheap for what you get. Other tablets with those specs are 2x the price than Nexus10.
It has a 1.7ghz dual core compared to the 1.3ghz quad core on the nexus 7 with 2 gb of ram instead of 1 gb so it's very fast.
totally agreed....havent seen a hot android tablet yet in terms of looks
Where are you john v
nexus 10 vs nexus 7 please!
Yes! I heard that too but Asus is good with their designs too.
whats up with all the food
I wish this was quad core.

oh and btw, it's 2,694.64 kronor. i have like 3,900
so
nexus 4 - LG
nexus 7 - asus
nexus 10 - samsung
I sucks that it has no SD or 3g or 4g its still a good tablet I love it still
I'm apple fans. But android don't lag anymore from jelly bean. Ios and android Just a different os experience. Choose either one but don't hate others. Peace. :)
