I've always wondered if a chunk loading minecart rail system was possible. That way you could transport items from your spawn chunks (or any constantly loaded chunks) to your base through a rail system and only load chunks connecting the two when the chest minecart passes through them. It'd be insanely lag unfriendly but I think it's a cool concept
If you check out TangoTek's latest Let's Play of Hermitcraft, he and Ethoslab do exactly this, complete with portals that only stay open long enough to load the area the minecart passes through!
I get that some people find your way of defending your work annoying. I guess it's easy to mistake conincidentally similar designs with blatant copies. Nontheless your contribution to the technical Minecraft community is substantial and I doubt that as many new players would get into the technical side of Minecraft if it weren't for your work. Thank you, keep up the great work.
i wish mob spawning was controlled by simulation distance instead of render distance, i hate not being able to see where i'm going while i'm trying to farm mobs.
if a dropper sits on the border between a lazy chunk and an entity processing chunk and shoots an item into the entity processing chunk, will the item be shot out or not because the dropper is technically inside a lazy chunk?
i dont know why but my item (dirt) doesnt come back from dimensions, i mean it's all correctly. but when the item goes to the nether doesnt come back, and same with the overworld
The wiki says something about making a line of loaded chunks with hoppers trying to give an item to another chunk from spawn chunks, is this still possible or not?
Is there a way to extend the ChunkLoading without simply adding multiple more? I'm currently trying however my portal has a connection to two spots and isn't system friendly (a bit of a distance) If not I'll simply move everything XD
hey i play on a server where i own a redstone casino. i have a problem and that is they unload the chunk which interrupts the redstone and causes an automatic win, does anyone know how they do it?
so, im making a slime farm in the new 3x3 chunk spawn and im not sure if the slime chunk is inside of this. so, i dropped a couple items inside the chunk and got really far away and stayed there for like 10min. when i came back the items were gone, does this mean the chunk was able to spawn slimes?
Rewatch the part of the video about mob spawning. Mobs will not spawn if the player is more then 128 blocks away from the farm. Even if you load the chunk, if no player is present within 128 blocks then your slime farm will produce nothing.
just use fabric servers, unless theres a plugin you really like. fabric servers can use sodium and c2me with other performance mods to have the performance benefit while still having vanilla technical mechanics
@@Nickaliiam That's an opinion that I'd disagree with. Not every update before Microsoft's acquisition was good and not every update after was bad. U could make an orbital cannon launching a stack of chest minecarts at once

Enderpearl Chunk loading will be a blessing. No manual activation needed. It sucks, that you need to activate this shit every time you play..

Does the shulker mob toggle still work with the new spawn chunk changes, or did they change that behavior?
Bro considers the first method to use the player.
I mean, he's not wrong, it's just not what I was expecting when he said "chunk loader."
Think you missed what happens when simulation distance is bigger then render distance
I'm also wondering what happens in that case.
I am pretty sure that things happen normally but you can't see them
I think stuff like tile entities and redstone work, but maybe mobs won't spawn? It's been a while since I messed with Java Edition

That means it's a spawn chunk, not a slime chunk. Google Chunkbase it will tell you if your world has a slime chunk in it's spawn chunk.
How do you figure out what the server settings are for rendering and simulation?
Could setup a test like in this world
How would i know what spawn chunks are loaded in my server (1.20.1)
