What a great visit with you two today! So glad this adventure of yours has given us the opportunity to spend the day with you in our back yard. You are living my dream, in fact you’re living your Uncle Harold’s dream who always hoped to RV the countryside. Be blessed as you live your everyday getaway journey!❤️
One of my best Memorial Days Ever! Spending time with family is the Best! "Guess I'll include John as too"😁😂😃 John you know it wouldn't have been as much fun with out you!🧡 Until next time we see each other stay safe and maybe start planning our cousins trip to Canada.😊 Love you!
Hey Chris & Katrina - I was talking to a mutual friend of ours today and he mentioned to me what you guys were doing. My wife and I live in Columbia, Md, and I went to school with your brother Craig. Anyway, we own a 2001 Monaco Windsor 34 PBS and I totally agree with you on the size issue. My toad is a 2020 Chevy Silverado and getting around is super easy compared to larger rigs. We are not full time and probably won't get to that point but we have put 21K miles on our rig since we bought her in March of 2021. BTW, her name is Portia. We bought her from a friend of the family who inherited it and he lives in Portland Oregon. We flew out there and drove her back home for a two week adventure. I knew nothing about the systems and neither did the guy who sold it to me. We have been to a lot of places and we have a couple long trips planned for this year already. One to Asheville NC and we have a special place we visit in Maine that I would be happy to tell you about. Anyway, keep up the good work. Vids are awesome!
Hey Tom! Chris just sent you a friend request. Growing up in Columbia I know the area very well. Where do you store your rv when not using it? Thanks for taking the time to search us out and watch our video. Stay safe and enjoy your travels. 😊
Hello again, The Summer after I brought the RV home, I had my driveway enlarged and added 50 amp hookup. So, it just sits in my driveway, winterized and ready for this season. We have been actively searching for a new home west of Columbia, either in Western Howard or Carroll or Baltimore counties. My plan is to have a structure built to use as a workshop and storage as well. @@oureverydaygetaway
Great Video! We agree that Aqua Hot is one of the best things in our Diesel Pusher! For us, we can't be long enough. We are 42' and wish we had another 10' - LOL! Don't even think of going smaller on us! Lol
Thank you! I need a long hot shower! LOL If I'm living in an RV it needs to be a good size with a bath and 1/2! LOVE your attitude! Stay safe and enjoy everyday you can getaway.😀
I couldn’t go without opposing slides. We have 4 slides and would not consider anything less now. I also wouldn’t go shorter than our 37 ft RV. Great video guys.
I totally agree with you! Chris on the other hand would have no problem going shorter. Lucky for me everything is so overpriced there's no way were going to buy a new one. Thanks for watching! Stay safe and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
Great points with hates and likes- no RV is perfect- but they do make a great home on wheels! The opposing slides are a big like for us too- we just said we need to do this video last week & can we just steal your answers? 😂👍 Chasing RV Sunshine ☀️Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya
Thank you! We looked at a few busses but had to pass due to not having the opposing slides. Please, You guys don’t need to steal anything your videos are excellent! 😄
We have a 34 and find it just right for us. Love our Oasis, full slide on one and opposing 2 others. We just finished 7 mos as our first trip and Mama wants to sell the house! This is our 2nd Coach and likely our last. Perfect? No, that is impossible.
Chris likes a coach around the 34 size but I wanted the second bath. Maybe we'll downsize someday. Totally agree no coach is perfect. Thanks for leaving a comment. Happy Travels! 😊
We put out a new video every Saturday morning at 10:30. If you don't mind sleeping on a sofa you are more than welcome to come down to Florida this winter and hang out with us.😀 Take care!
You need to go boondocking! You will know what your RV is good for. Solar will get you through it. Tent camp for a week and all is good! You two have it made! Thanks.
We've boondocked a few times but need to do more of it. Solar is on the list but out of budget currently. Not a fan of tent camping so maybe not. As a kid my family did a lot of camping which include sleeping in tents. Your correct we have it good but just like to tweak a few things. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Stay safe and enjoy everyday you can getaway!😊
Loved the Seinfeld reference, we quote their lines all the time at work. Best sitcom ever! Like you guys and your channel. Good stuff. My wife and willbe hitting the road in a year or two. We just bought our fifth wheel and will work the bugs out over the next year or so whatever it takes. We ant wait to see the country!
Thank you very much! Congratulations on the fifth wheel and getting out there! This country of ours is Amazing! Stay safe and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
I have a 36 ft, and I towed an XT5 Caddy behind on a tow dolly, and the only problem I had with the length was making a u- turn when I was lost. That only happened one time in a trip from middle BC Canada to central Florida and return.
Funny you watched this video as we are currently selling our diesel pusher. Don't get us wrong it's never given us any major issues just need a different floor plan now that we have 3 granddaughters that we want to take rving with us on occasion. Thanks for subscribing!
you will like two AC units in Summer! We've been traveling with one working AC in same size rig as yours (supply chain has no replacement units for a long time). We ended up getting a portable second one for those summer days when parking in the sun.
So sorry you can't get the one ac unit fixed for a while. That stinks! Hopefully the portable one does the job. Thanks for your comments. Stay safe and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
I ours we took out our sleeper couch and replaced it with a double recliner. And for sleeping area we got a double air mattress that fits in the same area which people can sleep on.
Most of your dislikes have been addressed in newer models. Wet bay totally different still needs improvement but better.. Pantry slides out. Tile floors are heated. Lounges and a couch. This in the fleetwood 40m. We love the layout and I really like driving it. When it comes to state and national parks if you didn't book a year in advance you probably not getting in anyway. I'll keep my extra room.
Funny you mentioned the fleetwood 40M. That is my #1 pick for a new rig! We bought used so we gave up a lot of things we were looking for but still enjoy this one. Maybe I can convince Chris to upgrade sooner than later. 😁 Stay safe and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
40'9" 1.5 bath here. Your 38' should be fine. We are almost exclusively National Parks, State Parks and Regional\County\City Parks. You should be able to get into almost all. If you were 4-5' shorter it would greatly impact your storage as well as the living area. Remember it would be 4-5' less on "both" sides.
Nice to know. Thank you so much for your comments. Your comments will make Chris feel more at ease getting into those parks. Stay safe and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
I realize it can be stressful to drive but I LOVE the size of everything once we get set up at a campground/rv park. Thanks for watching and enjoy everyday you can getaway!😊
Hi to you both,👋, We have a 40' 40z American Tradition, bath and a half. 3 slides, large Samsung and we love it!! It's name is "Beastie Boy and Mini Me">>toad We have a large Awning and added the screen to it.. It works great and now feels like a room outside. We are close to going full time.. We enjoy you both, thank you for sharing.
Did you ever consider soft-close hinges in your pantry? You know just like they put in drawers. It might result in you losing a inch in with but your shelf would slide all the way out. How about removing the sinks and replacing them with a single farmer's sink? some plumbing revisions would have to be done but it might give you much more room. If you have 3 slides I would certainly consider slide insurance. It is available because having to remove one to repair can cost thousands of dollars. If I remember your rig has about 360 horsepower. Is that adequate for long uphill grades? Is it possible to replace one section of your sofa with recliners then just a comfy sofa at the short end? Buying a piece of memory foam for the dinette area might make it a lot more comfy. A piece could be rolled up and stored in your cargo bay. Just saying. Liked your video Happy trails.
All great suggestions. Changing out the sink is at the top of our list. When we drove out west we had no issues or problems going up on down long grades. We were also towing the jeep. If we end up keeping our class A there will be some renovations coming. We talk about adding recliners all the time, just haven't done anything about it yet. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave so many great suggestions. Safe travels. 😊
Chris you look good in purple. Loved seeing your home. That is crazy when the awning coming out. I love the one large awning idea. It's a good size. I could never get rid of our washer dryer. Lol. I love Katrina's face on the budget. Priceless. We have been the same with traveling heavy and Disel yikes lol. I'm a long shower taker. I love a good hot shower. I 100% agree with the fridge. I love ours. Another great video.
He does!🥰 It came out along an interstate with tractor trailers flying bye! Chris had to climb on the woof and bungy cord the thing together until he could fix it. Crazy scary! The gas has really put a damper on our budget but not ready to quite this full time rv thing yet. LOL Take care, have fun and keep on putting out your fun vids!
I enjoyed watching the video! You might consider adding a dedicated hatch for your fresh water hose, which I added to our rig, as I didnt like the sewer and fresh water hose going down the same gaping port either. So potentially unsanitary!
Even funnier is Chris showing how the vacuum works! Like he's ever used it before! Surprised he even knew where to plug it in! LOL!!! Thanks for your comment!
Sorry, we were just talking about our specific rig. Will have to do a future video with a rundown across the board cons. Thanks for the suggestion. Safe travels!
Hey you can for the pantry go to Lowes or any other hardware place and pick up the shelving that pull out. That would help a lot for you. I have seen RV rigs that have the washer/dryer for about 30ft or 35ft. You all do a lot of things outside the rig so a smaller one wouldn't be too bad for you.
Great suggestion! Will look into the pull out shelving. If this crazy market ever comes down we may look into a smaller rig. For now we're happy with this one. Thanks for watching and enjoy everyday you can getaway.😊
I want the half bath so I have my own throne. We have a 32 footer and really want one your size. If you take out the couch and put in the recliners and you do have guests that come in they cannot fit on the dinette you can always get a blowup bed and have them sleep on the floor. That’s what we plan on doing when we get our class a
The 1/2 bath makes a huge difference! Great idea using a blowup mattress. We do miss our recliners. Thanks for watching! Stay safe and enjoy any day you can getaway.
I would add if you lived in a smaller RV you would lose storage space and most shorter class A motorhomes lose area in the kitchen and living area when moving to a short unit. I have owned one 34' gas and two 39 and 40' pushers and would never go back to a 34' length. We always tried to reserve pull thru spots and never had any issues with parking it a space.
Thanks for sharing! We love all the room we have in our 39' dp. It's definitely going to be a challenge next year when we travels in our small class C. Safe travels and Happy New Year!
We have a Winnebago voyage 38j. We also have opposing slides and LOVE them, hate the wet bay and hubby isn’t a fan of driving this one. We are considering going back to a travel trailer but prices right now are nuts! Also, get some poofs to use for foot props. I ordered ours from Amazon and love them! They are super light and I just through them in the seat on travel day.
Same here! There's no way we're going to buy an overpriced rv anytime soon. We actually have one poof (not pictured) that we use while relaxing on the sofa. I love it too! Thanks for watching and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
It can be very expensive depending where you choose to stay. Staying at one location for a month will give you a better rate. We have spent more money while hitting the road full time but would do it all over again. The memories made and people we’ve met are priceless.
Great video & information, thx so much for sharing . My wife & I are in the process of looking for a DP or Class C to part time travel around the US . Prefer Boondocking too. Did you guys hire a certified RV inspector before your purchase ? ? Thx ago & safe travels wherever they may take you . 👍⚾️🎣
Hello there I have a solution to your pull out pantry I got this apparatus w Winnebago don’t know the name of it So if there’s a way I can take a picture of it & send it to you, please let me know It’s an insert that I use in my pantry in the house I had the same problem.
We'll have to see what's new with Newmar and Tiffin at the Tampa RV show this January. Your correct in that you can't go wrong with either of them. Stay safe and enjoy any day you can getaway. 😊
Your open road comparison to a 4359 is not really a fair consideration Tiffin to Newmar. Gas to diesel. We were between a Ventana 4037 tag and a Phaeton 37BH. Hubby didn’t want to be 40 feet without a tag. I liked the Newmar color scheme best. But, we bought the Phaeton and got all the luxury features of the Newmar. 3 roof top airs, heated floors, washer and dryer, dishwasher drawer and tons more. It’s a super nice coach and as is more trouble free as any coach we have owned. Tiffin has also has been bery accomadating on all. On warranty work, they were happy to allow my unauthorized mechanic to do the work and reimburse us, as Red Bay is 715 miles and I am not a fan of vacation time being mechanical or maintenance time.
Im assuming you guys are VERY new to RV/diesel pushers? The wet bay is how they all are. They are not meant to come apart. How you get water in and waste out, why does it matter that the hoses use the same hole? All of the contents of each hose is contained within it, its not like you are putting them in the same bucket? The tile would be annoying but thats a flaw of that manufacture because it can be done where they dont crack. The small awning is meant to be put out for when it is raining. It gives you a place to take shoes off or get into the coach without rain coming inside. The larger awning is meant for being under but yes it is on the smaller side. The length of it is just a bad choice on your side of buying it. You cant blame the coach for that. Its like saying "I dont like blue but I bought a blue motorhome so motorhomes are ugly ".
We have fulltimed in a 40' and a 42' class A and a 40' and now a 42' 5th wheel and there have always been likes and dislikes LOL,,, There is no perfect world.
Wish all RVs came with escape doors in the rear. Those little escape windows are pathetic. As a senior with some mobility issues, it would be impossible for me to get out.
We were just talking about that. Crazy to think anyone (maybe children) would be able to escape out of that window. Thanks for watching and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
Your odd awning size could be because it is mounted on your slide, already 30" from the side of your coach. In many older RV and state parks, a full-size awning would be touching your neighbor. I once read a comment that said, "...the half bath saved my marriage!"
Yes, the awning size is definitely due to the slide. We'll have to take our chances with the state parks ect. I'm not ready to give up my bath and half bath yet! 🤪 Thanks for your comments and enjoy your weekend.
...ok, sooo let me get this straight. You look for an RV, find an RV, start to use it some, then decide that there are things you don't like about the RV. You should have seriously considered this before buying it. Sink size, RV to big, yada, yada, yada. Seriously, did you not do any research at all before spending the money on this RV? Now, you have something you like, but, do not enjoy. As I write this, my wife and I are going through the process of ordering a 45' rv. Getting it built just the way we want. Example: We do not like glass shower doors and are having it built without them. I say this, because I looked for 2 1/2 years before moving to the next phase. What we liked inside, was handled by my wife. Her likes, and my dislikes will show in getting something we want, and will use for a long time. Now. If you had done your research ahead of time, before getting something you really don't like (because, if, you liked it, loved it, you'd have not put this video out). Alot of money in that rv your in, just to find things you don't like, and an rv your not happy with. ScottishxPride, TX.
RV RESORTS LOL what are those lol ive been rving since 1989 and we always boondocked thats it dont like the rv parks resorts to many rules and nosy people. now we have a 2007 american tradition diesel pusher 40ft long we park it anywhere from target to the coney island parking lot man lol a good generator is key! thats why i have 4 of them 2 are solar! which i run every day but the onboard is our baby we call her Eliza jane and she cranks up eveyday baby lol we will soon make it to arizona where we will be for awhile i do get it tho but its home anything past 38ft can be a daugnting task. but we love it an wont buy a house ever again. with boondocking the only rules u have to follow are your own. we do our florida trips vegas all the southern states , ohio but with us we boondock safe rest areas anywhere really alot of money saved doin it that way. not for every one but for us it just works. will buy some land soon and call it home.
All of your dislikes have nothing to do with a dp, those are options you accepted when you bought it oh it’s to big said no man before oh it’s to small say all the women 😅
The misogyny is pretty apparent. She got overruled (… because I’m the man). I don’t care about the kitchen (… because I don’t really use it, and I don’t care about her preferences). Oof, dude. Go back and listen to yourself.
I wouldn’t call Chris a misogynist. We’ve been married over 30 years and our back and forth banter may come across abrupt at times. It’s all in good fun. Safe travels and enjoy your journey.😊
Yes I know what you are talking about. Regarding those Opposing Slides. It goes well beyond our politics today. When I first saw my, living room area in the coach. I thought I was at the shopping mall food court. When they used to, exist. It was huge. And I had to stand there a moment. Catch my breath. And realize. I'm standing inside my vehicle. That has a powerful diesel motor in the back. So I can hear my music better. And stay cooler. Looking, cooler. Because I am. It feels like I'm in the shopping mall atrium. But all the stores are closed. But look! There's a, 4 door refrigerator hiding from us behind decorated with wooden facia panels. But what good is it? It fits, Nor cold? Shouldn't it be Real Cold? Why didn't they use that name? What's going on here? Doesn't have to be as level? When using the refrigerator in, electric only mode also? I don't like propane. I just want electric. As I feel we no longer need gas lights. Inside of our, largely dry, wooden, motor homes. So I'm contemplating. Selling off my deluxe 4 door Nor cold, RV Refrigerator. Then sticking a residential unit in. Always making sure I have, 32 ounce, 1 L bottles of, frozen water in the freezer. Then when necessary. Put a frozen bottle of ice. In the lower Box. Where you keep food that is not frozen. They used to call it an, Ice Box. Back in the day. Before you had anything to plug-in to anywhere. Then you might want to make your food last a couple of days. Without driving your cats nuts. And your dog thinks you are dying. It's always like that. Once you enter the realm of the mind of Donald Trump. You will know. It is pronounced, CHRYSANTHEMUMS. Easy fix for the length, get a 45 footer for a year or so then go back to your 38 footer; you will love it. 😂😂
LOL!!! Chris has already said there's no way he's going bigger!🤣🤣
It was a good show,my wife and I are planning to buy a coach in the spring so it was nice to hear your thoughts. Thankyou!!!
Glad it was helpful! How exciting for you guys! Have fun shopping for your new coach. 😊
What a great resource. Your honesty will be very helpful when we finally pull the trigger.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching. Stay safe and enjoy any day you can getaway!
I am with Katrina! Change the sink. 38’ is minimum and half bath is mine while main one is my wife’s 🤣
Sink has got to go!! I like the way you think! Safe travels and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
TOTALLY agree on the double sink! I would change ours in a minute if I could.
Not sure if we can change our either because of how the counter was installed. Will be one the first upgrades if possible. 😊

I understand about length. We ended up with a Tiffin Red 33AA and it is perfect for the two of us. Pretty much go anywhere we want.
I hear the Tiffin Reds are very nice. Thanks for watching and enjoy your journey. 😊

Thanks for the tip!

Saving for a Newell or a Prevost, can't wait.
That sound Amazing! Congratulations!
@@oureverydaygetaway hope we meet again. You guys are the best!
I enjoyed watching the video! You might consider adding a dedicated hatch for your fresh water hose, which I added to our rig, as I didnt like the sewer and fresh water hose going down the same gaping port either. So potentially unsanitary!
Thank you! That's a great idea! Thinking the same thing. Eww! Thanks for watching have a great weekend!
@@oureverydaygetaway check out our channel for our install we did...
Bigger awning can mean more area for the wind to effect it. Awning over door put it out and leave it out till you leave. Wind won't bother it
Really hadn't thought about leaving the smaller awning out. Thanks for your suggestion. 😊
Katrina! You can talk about the central vac ….because….you know.
That made me lol so hard.
Even funnier is Chris showing how the vacuum works! Like he's ever used it before! Surprised he even knew where to plug it in! LOL!!! Thanks for your comment!
Cons: Items 2-5 seem cosmetic, style preferences, and very specific to your model. I was hoping for an “in general” rundown of across the board cons.
Sorry, we were just talking about our specific rig. Will have to do a future video with a rundown across the board cons. Thanks for the suggestion. Safe travels!
i figured one of your dislikes is looking at the pump after you filled up :P
So True! We should have put that as our number one dislike! Thanks for watching! 😍
I enjoy your videos. Pls look into white balance when sitting in front of windows.
Thank you! We will look into your recommendation. Take care and thanks for watching.
We aren’t full time but love a class A DP -Just ordered a Newmar Dutch Star and splurged on many of the things you mentioned 😁🚌🇺🇸⭐️
Congratulations! Can't go wrong with a Newmar. Thanks for watching and enjoy your new home. 😊
We use a roomba run twice a day. Almost never have to sweep
That's awesome. I may have to try one.
Good review. How expensive do you find full time RVing?
It can be very expensive depending where you choose to stay. Staying at one location for a month will give you a better rate. We have spent more money while hitting the road full time but would do it all over again. The memories made and people we’ve met are priceless.
Good video 😀 but you need to step to a Newmar motor home they come used duchstar or new air just a thought 🤔
Thank you! Now there’s something to think about…🤔 Stay safe and enjoy everyday you can getaway!
Beautiful rig you guys have
Thanks 👍 Hope you had an amazing Memorial Day Weekend!
Great video & information, thx so much for sharing . My wife & I are in the process of looking for a DP or Class C to part time travel around the US . Prefer Boondocking too. Did you guys hire a certified RV inspector before your purchase ? ? Thx ago & safe travels wherever they may take you . 👍⚾️🎣
Thank you. We did hire a certified inspector before we purchased our rv. Too large of a purchase not to do so in our opinion.
Hello there I have a solution to your pull out pantry
I got this apparatus w Winnebago don’t know the name of it
So if there’s a way I can take a picture of it & send it to you, please let me know
It’s an insert that I use in my pantry in the house
I had the same problem.
That sounds awesome! Can you email it to us at oureverydaygetaway@gmail.com Thank you!
Great Video thank you
Thank YOU!
Check out Newmar ,I bought a Dutch star 4369 love it before that we had a Tiffin open road ,ok but once u have a Newmar you’ll know the difference
How doses your refrigerator work off grid
Works great! No issues at all.
I agree if I purchase a class A would go with 35 feet and tow a truck for my stuff.
Great minds think alike. 😁
Well is it the 8.9 cummings. Had any major emissions trouble yet
Not emissions trouble so far.
Do you boondock very often?
Not that much this year but next year we’re going to do quite on our Alaska trip.
Good video!
Thank you!
We have fulltimed in a 40' and a 42' class A and a 40' and now a 42' 5th wheel and there have always been likes and dislikes LOL,,, There is no perfect world.
That's the truth! Thanks for sharing and watching! Be safe and enjoy your journey. 😊
So your toilet system is not a vacu pump system?
One is a vacu pump system.
@@oureverydaygetaway one toilet is? I’m surprised it wasn’t on your dislike list lol
What engine do you have, HP? Is it adequate pulling grades?
Cummins' 6 cylinder, 360hp@2600rpm So far we've no problems pulling our jeep up steep grades. Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.
Would you get heated floors if it was an option?
Absolutely! Stay safe and thanks for watching!
2017 cochman catalina 40bhts
A shorter rv means you'll be the foot rest down to get by the kitchen , it gotta come from somewhere, not the bedroom or bathroom or drivers area.
You’ve got a point. 😊
Until one breaks down, and you have to fix it on the road. ?? not a fan of big slides....
It's the chance you take to have the luxury of all the space. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
...ok, sooo let me get this straight.

Thanks for taking the time watch and leave a comment. Safe travels and enjoy your new rv.
RV RESORTS LOL what are those lol
ive been rving since 1989 and we always boondocked thats it dont like the rv parks resorts
to many rules and nosy people.
now we have a 2007 american tradition diesel pusher 40ft long
we park it anywhere from target to the coney island parking lot man lol
a good generator is key!
thats why i have 4 of them 2 are solar! which i run every day
but the onboard is our baby we call her Eliza jane and she cranks up eveyday baby lol
we will soon make it to arizona where we will be for awhile
i do get it tho but its home anything past 38ft can be a daugnting task.
but we love it an wont buy a house ever again.
with boondocking the only rules u have to follow are your own.
we do our florida trips vegas all the southern states , ohio but with us we boondock safe rest areas
anywhere really alot of money saved doin it that way. not for every one
but for us it just works. will buy some land soon and call it home.
Love everything about your story! Thanks so much for sharing. Safe travels.😊
"we're on a tight budget"....LOL....didn't someone say you were living high on the hog?! :)
All the time! LOL
So your reviewing your particular RV & not aspects of a diesel…..
All of your dislikes have nothing to do with a dp, those are options you accepted when you bought it oh it’s to big said no man before oh it’s to small say all the women 😅
Not complaining about it being a dp just pointing out some of the things we thought we'd like.
stopped watching after 1st con, that issue has nothing to do with DP or not.
I disagree on each of your dislikes.
Sometimes we all have to agree to disagree. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Safe travels.
Help! Our RV is too big!
