I have a mainly stock RX 7 with moderate mods. Right hand drive model. Every drive through I go to in Indiana is always a wow almost everyday theres a compliment and people love the car.
I love how every part has been modified away from the modern trend of keeping every thing oem. It takes me back to a time before these were collectors cars. A time when they were just fun to own
Well said mate, I completely agree. People are all so up in arms for originality they forget just how amazing cars can be. Stock is still great but don’t get me wrong with slight or even extensive modifications, it is a whole other animal!🚀
I dunno about that, most people seem to be going big power with FDs (at least in Australia). I'm trying to keep the twins which seems like it's the harder path to go.
they must be hyping the number up by claiming BHP at the flywheel, because a rotary engine needs a minimum 93 lb/min compressor flow to hit 700 whp and the most the largest GTX35 Gen2 turbo stated in the engine modifications list will do is ~ 80 lb/min. Which is only 600 whp on a rotary engine. Because a rotary engine requires 1.3x more flow to make the same whp as a piston engine.
Your right, this thing would be closer to 495 HP at the crank than it is 495kw at the wheels. Even that seems high, It looks closer to 400whp/300wkw at MOST.
Finally a decently long rotary car review or 400 to the wheels LOL that seems to be the average I’m trying to get a feel for what 700 looks like Time to watch the video
This car is not 700 wheel hp. The exhaust alone gives it away. That exhaust is to small to be 700 im 650 wheel and I have a 4inch turbo back. To allow the exhaust floow to even hit the numbers. So call bull on the power but it is clean and nice build
I highly recommend investing in a lav mic/field recorder. For example, Zoom H1n is a relatively low price and includes stereo microphones (for external recording), as well as a line in "for a lav mic". Also, a lav mic itself can be had for $25-50. I guess another thing is to just make sure your mic isn't peaking. You can usually do this by clapping close to the mic and adjusting the gain on the camera until it just barely doesn't peak. If the audio is a little quiet, you can always use a compressor/gain in post, as well as noise reduction if there is static when boosted. Otherwise, fantastic video quality, as well as most of the car audio sounding amazing.
I’ve actually tried 3 different microphone setups and all to no true winner.🥲 I sometimes use a Rode Wireless Go which is very similar to a lav mic but honestly it lacks that true audible sensation of the cars noise - more so just captures my voice. Really trying to find that happy medium. Though, especially difficult capturing the full audio without peaking when it comes to these insanely loud bridgeport rotaries. I would probably have to scream if I turned the mic level down to negate peaking from the sound of the car😢. I’ll keep toying around with different adjustments and mics. Thank you for the feedback and the information, will definitely give those things a shot.
Got the opportunity to have a look at this car in person at a car fair in Melbourne's north and the video does not do justice on how beautiful this car is in person!
That's amazing that you can tell the power of a car over a video. People don't pay lots of cash puting your car on a dyno just send a video to Vince here and he'll let you know exactly what power you have.
@@mikenolan3060 dont even need to watch the video to know if a numbers wrong, or exaggerated, for the sake of integrity and accuracy, many of us care, and it doesnt matter that turbo is rated to 750hp, that will be a rating on a piston engine and it doesnt work the same for a rotary. I also instantly thought that claim is clearly wrong once he said the turbo specs. And with no reference I heard of running E85 etc, I highly doubt it will it make 660rwhp with that turbo
@@mikenolan3060 absolutely agree on the fact it's a fantastic and awesome car but a gtx35 is rated at 700hp at the flywheel on a piston engine there's no way a rotary will make that power on that combination. As I said nothing to do with the car itself im actually a big fan of it
Define Worked? Bro trust me its how you drive it, if ya mates car was bridge ported or peripheral ported, it had some serious brap brap on idle yeah? Thats half the attraction to the naturally aspirated old school rotary engines, I've had several and its how ya drive em, its actually not that hard, in fact once you get used to it it's actually really easy.. but if smooth is what you want go turbo mate.. my last car had a extend Port with a big Turbo and it sounded just like any other force fed engine on idle. Don't take my word for it ask any rotor owner😎
Love the RX7 a amazing car. I have driven a Mazda RX8 and fun car but always like RX7 miles more. PS I have a Red GR Yaris here in Aus and wondering when you will get a review on your channel. Thanks.
I need to race this. Great video btw, I own a GT350, it is running 753 Whp . It is equipped with a vortex supercharger, and many other mods. (I’m not trying to brag btw, I’m trying to spark a car enthusiast conversation. I say this because I previously had a problem with someone 😅.)
“you may be wondering, is it just engine mods?” i would imagine if you’re going to dump money into such a machine you’d upgrade the suspension to help to power to the ground. get this guy outta here 🤡
I love FDs, but this build is super unsafe. After market steering wheels + OEM seatbelt + bucket seats = serious head trauma in case of an head on collision.
The prices of these are stupid high... Would rather buy the mk5 supra, R35 GTR or M3 or M2.. First you pay a stupid price then you will need 20k for a rebuild after 2 weeks of driving 🤣
Loud bridgeport brappy and big turbo whistley noises This things a true FD Monster! Beauty

Killing it with the rotors fella keep them coming. Bugger me the amount of cashys I'd have to do to afford me a nice FD
Man they're gone nuts here too! Used to but them for 3 or 4k!

the best video you ever have done to date :)
This, this is the dream right here, so good. This, this is how you turn more people into rotary nuts
This 7 is a beast 💪🏽. Nice work Clay
Such and excellent review of the RX-7 and its heritage.
Quality content for this man again, keep it up bro

ive been watching you for awhile now, but holy smokes your editing skills have improved so much!
nothing like a well done review of an even better done rotary RX-7. Love it!

Nice, Love those roads out near warrendyte
Not sure if you're already using one, but you should pick up a Rode Wireless GO Mic, would make your vids even better 👌
Yo, Shout out to PPRE for their dedication too, on the rotary. They keep my dream alive.
Is the air con functioning?
happy every Sunday!
Sick car, sick visuals bro. Grab a lapel mic so we can hear you better :)
That’s amazing freaking durito’s..bro luv it...
Is the Scoot build NA and 4rotors?
What a beast

What gauges are being ran and where can one find the steering cowl mounted gauge pod.
4 Defi Gauges on dash
What a mod list
Does it have blind spot monitoring, and whats the fuel efficiency like?
You don't drive this for fuel efficiency to be honest :D
@ClayWong Please find a FC RX7 to vlog!!!!
Audio is a big let down considering the quality of the footage :(
What does your pottery teacher say when you mess up? Clay wong
Hey I know that car!! Fitted the headunit 🙂
Love your videos, you are doing great🔥 Love the RX7 wish to own one soon‼️ Hope you can make a NSX videos❤️
I like it because it look so like keisuke one if it had yellow color🤤🤤🤤
I wonder how much it costs total

Rx7's need to be driven hard all the time. As soon as you granny drive it, it's starts to give you issues.
The highest resolution given is 480p not 4k
Great video well done please keep it up! Hope to do a similar one with the 13b when I make 700 and the 20b real soon!

No less safe than any 90s car that came without airbags. The real crime is people putting harnesses in street cars without a cage
