No need, we already know. The police agreed the event with the organisers, it was not intended to be a March and the entrances to the area where the rally was being held were agreed. Those marching down the street were in an area that the police had agreed with the organisers would not be a route to the rally. The ceasefire protests have not had these issues because the organisers have agreed routes to gather and march and their participants have stuck to those agreed routes. In the few occasions where that has not happened, the police have stopped those marchers that have deviated from the routes. If the St George Day protesters wanted a march, they should have asked for a march, proposed a route, given details about how many people they expected, how it would be marshalled etc. It would probably not have been agreed on the Tuesday, because of the disruption it would create in the city. But on a weekend would most likely been possible, especially with so few attendees.
I was born in London just after WW2 so I am an old lady now. I grew up to a large extent respecting the police, but I do not respect them anymore. I have seen how they have `policed` different situations over the last few decades, and I can honestly say, I no longer trust or respect them.
I was in a pub and the front doors got locked and shuttered up. I had to get out via the back fire doors. And the police told the pub to serve in plastic glasses and not serve larger measures. Fucking disgrace the Met Police.

No need, we already know. The police agreed the event with the organisers, it was not intended to be a March and the entrances to the area where the rally was being held were agreed.
Those marching down the street were in an area that the police had agreed with the organisers would not be a route to the rally.
The ceasefire protests have not had these issues because the organisers have agreed routes to gather and march and their participants have stuck to those agreed routes. In the few occasions where that has not happened, the police have stopped those marchers that have deviated from the routes.
If the St George Day protesters wanted a march, they should have asked for a march, proposed a route, given details about how many people they expected, how it would be marshalled etc. It would probably not have been agreed on the Tuesday, because of the disruption it would create in the city. But on a weekend would most likely been possible, especially with so few attendees.

I was born in London just after WW2 so I am an old lady now. I grew up to a large extent respecting the police, but I do not respect them anymore. I have seen how they have `policed` different situations over the last few decades, and I can honestly say, I no longer trust or respect them.

I’m Irish living in Uk and completely agree! The police seemed to be trying to start trouble, it was as someone’s said very choreographed where and when they move in.
