Can you get Congresswoman Leger-Fernandez back on air to so she can explain why victims are still uncompensated and homeless as the 2-year anniversary of the HP/CC Fire approaches?

It is a shame that one year later, no one has been compensated by the federal government!

Still waiting for compensation FEMA stubbornly squats on despite having accepted a partial-payment determination offer. That was accepted 22 days ago, 12 days beyond FEMA’s self-imposed 7 to 10 day compensation delivery deadline-now approaching two full years since the USFS started the fire.

Another month has passed and FEMA still has not deemed my loss claim (homestead and entire subsistence forestland destroyed) worthy of “streamlined” processing. I have not received one red cent of compensation. The NRCS called a few days ago, most likely to schedule a time to assess damage to my property, but the caller and everyone in the room with her were laughing so hard that she couldn’t even speak coherently enough to be understood. Apparently the NRCS considers this one big lucrative joke now that they’ve collected millions of dollars from the Hermit’s Peak Fire Assistance Act funding. Be damned if I let the shisters profit from misfortune dealt to me by USFS arsonists. In the meantime, FEMA staff eagerly draw their juicy paychecks from the Hermit’s Peak Fire Assistance Act funding looking so busy getting nothing done.

In the meantime, those responsible for starting the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire by acts of obscene gross incompetence and extreme criminal negligence rest easy and work secure in their cushy new jobs, in their undamaged dwellings, in their lousy existences far far away from the hellscape they created. The State of New Mexico should file felony criminal charges against them all.
