@@log1kanobi that's just nitpicking nonsense. there are so many different forms of jazz that it's essentially an umbrella term. what we are watching is a modern take on jazz with heavy fusion, rock, hip hop and probably many other influences. so sure it's not straight up classical "jazz" per se, but who cares.
Every time I hear these cats they are a whole lot better. This is absolute peak level here. Even through a phone it sounds Godly! Props to the sound engineer, too!!! Phenomenal talent all around. It takes a lot to make groove-based music interesting nowadays.
I was at this show, Probably the best live sound I've ever experienced, Props to el Club. Every note Rocco played on the bass Vibrated the air perfectly around you
I just saw them again last week (saw them last year too)...and would you believe that they haven't peaked yet? Because they got even better. Wtf right? How can they get better when they're at their best? LOL!!!!
Oh and btw...for the j dilla tribute, they took out reminisce and gave over the breaks an ending. Good call. Love reminisce but over the breaks is just so fucking dope, it needed to be its own full cover song. And my goodness it was AMAZING.
Saw these guys live in Brisbane Australia. I respect the sax player but I gotta say his tone just cut through all the low end vibes and felt too harsh at times. Maybe it was the sound or the venue but I personally could have done without the sax, or maybe a lower register instrument like a Tenor or Baritone Sax. The band was tight.
His Yamaha drums ALWAYS sound amazing.
Yusuf is one of the baddest drummers I've heard to date. Period. Among the top drummers of the world in my book because his style is so unique
This is so dope. They all have such a unique style that nobody can touch
Have you just started listening to jazz?
@@thaterasound right, because what they’re playing can be called jazz.🤦🏻♂️ go home old head.
@@log1kanobi ? this is jazz
@@nbeutler1134 nothing has been “jazz” since the 30s
