Hello, Your review was very informative. one reason why I got this board was to make sure I can hook up my RGB case fans, How can I know if I need an RGB controler? Could I program it to transition through all colors from the bios? Thanks!
The board has two Addressable RGB headers and one non-addressable RGB header. Most RGB fans are addressable, so you could buy two ARGB splitters and easily connect four case fans (more if you use additional splitters). I believe the BIOS will let you set a normal rainbow wave effect on them, but if it doesn't, you can install RGB Fusion in windows for much greater customisation. RGB Fusion is a bit janky, but it's fine for basic effects like Colour Cycle / Rainbow Wave.
@@kvasir6945 Gigabyte have AppCenter app which have 10-12 apps for this motherboard. There some stupid apps like Norton don't download them. You need @bios app from AppCenter witch is for updating bios, SiV for monitoring temperature and changing speed of fans in Windows, RGB Fusion 2.0 for changing rgb light. Hi Adamant , what would your recommendation be over the msi b450 boards , considering a mortar max or tomahawk but don’t know if they’re better then this gigabyte or I will have bios update issues as I don’t have a old amd chip to update bios
Tomahawk Max / Mortar Max are both better, and they're all Ryzen 3000 ready out of the box. If I'd waited a week before buying this Gigabyte board, I'd have spotted and bought a Motar Max instead.
Which motherboard is best, I have to do overclocking and will use for 5+ years, Quality over price 1- Asrock B450 M Pro 4 2- Giagbyte B450 Aorus M 3- ASRock B450M Steel Legend
None of these are really heavy over-clocking mobos, but out of those: I can't recommend the Aorus M because the BIOS is such a lottery. The Steel Legend would be your best bet. It's very similar to the Pro 4, but it's got bigger heatsinks and such that'll give you more head room.
Just as a note, you can't actually use the overclocking on the board. If you try to choose an option nothing happens. You'll need to use ryzen master likely.
Sort of. I've had a look at it (I'm looking into various options to make a noob's guide to Ryzen overclocking) and you can set the base multiplier, and that does work - however, it locks the CPU to base clock (no turbo) and trying to clock the base all the way up to turbo speeds isn't a good approach. So on my board, it does work, but it's not useful. Agreed that Ryzen Master is the best way forward.
@@Adamant_IT That's odd. I've tried 2600, and 2700x. Both have everything locked. If you try to activate the auto option to change to manual, nothing happens. It's annoying, cause I can't tighten my timings on ram like I'd like to. Which can give massive fps gains in many games lol sigh... I wonder tho, I've seen people get ram to 3400 on this board. I'm curious if it can go higher.
I have 3400 RAM running in it at the moment. Despite the RAM being rated for 3400, it was a bastard to get it there. I used DRAM Calculator for Ryzen to find some safe timings, and dialed those in manually, which included a little extra voltage. 3200 was stable on stock XMP profiles. The board can do it... it's just... a garbage BIOS. I have an ROG STRIX X470-F in the post, and it'll be interesting to see how the same CPU and RAM performs in a board that's more than twice the price.
I'll be doing a video about getting the most out of this board, since it seems to be a good example of worst-case scenario in getting a solid Ryzen 3000 setup - that is, you have to spoon feed it because all the auto settings are broken.
@@Adamant_IT Omg...lol Ok, after some insane research for days, I finally found a video that shows you how to overclock on these boards. You have to hit the + symbol and - to change values lol...wtf... Orjust type the number. I've never a seen a board work like that. Maybe page up or down works as well. Oh man this makes me so happy. Now I can tighten those 3400 mhz ram timings and get a massive jump.
Unfortunately one thing glossed over here is the voltage settings and assuming they are robust enough for serious overclocking. Those settings are pretty useless and I don't bother overclocking the CPU at all from BIOS and just do it from Ryzen Master. Which is kinda inconvenient
@@mrrobot7010 I'm using Aorus B450M with Corsair H100i. Case is only a SEA thing (Rakk Halika) with full mesh front. Idle is at 39 C and max 70 at full load., which is nice considering room temp right now is 34 C.
I have found mixed info about whether or not this MOBO is compatible with 3rd gen Ryzen processors out of stock. In the MOBO website it says it does support 3rd gen without vega graphics, but pcpartpicker states it might have issues with 3rd gen. Can I put a 3600 or 3700x on this?
It depends on BIOS version. I've also had some people in the comments say theirs was updated out the box, and some say theirs wasn't. I think it's luck of the draw based on if your particular one sat in a warehouse for a long time or not. If you're buying one, be prepared to update it for Ryzen 3000. Failing that, the MSI Tomahawk, which I somehow managed to not see while making this video, is a very strong contender, and is apparently always updated out of the box.
@@Adamant_IT I have the same bios version you have. Another thing I could do is change both the motherboard and the CPU. If I have to do that then I might consider going higher, like a 3700X. Not ideal money wise, but if I am not certain the R5 3600, would work out of the box I'd rather have something that works great without having to tweak it. Seems like I have a decision to make. Thanks for the advice man, great video!
can you still install a wi-fi card when you have an m.2 and a gpu there? I'm worried the gpu will block it or something. or that the lanes will be used
eeeeeeh... This shouldn't be a comparison. The Aorus is vastly more feature rich, but you what I've used the DS3H a dozen times in simple builds and _never had a peep from one_ . It just works. If it's a basic build, I'd hounestly stick a DS3H in there. If it's a gaming build, buy an MSI Mortar Max instead.
I'm using this motherboard paired with a Ryzen 5 2400G, with the latest bios F50 and all the overclocking option for the CPU and iGPU are locked in the BIOS and can't do anything..
I have new built pc using this mobo. My problem is I can't access bios by pressing "Del key" what should I do. I've already tried ps2 and USB keyboard. And different monitors also. I need help pleas...
What happens if you power it up with no drives connected? Usually a modern motherboard will drop into BIOS automatically if it has nothing to boot from.
PWM fan headers are not needed in high amount on the motherboard. Because with PWM you can daisychain several fans on one header on the motherboard. And you really dont need to add an expensive fan hub or controller at all!!! Just buy a PWM splitter or two, for 4 euro's or 3 pounds, if you want to connect more fans, easy peasy
I've always tried to avoid fan splitters, but I must confess I've recently found myself looking at them again... after all if you've got three front fans, why not just tie them all to a single port? So yea, good shout!

It's got the settings for it, but honestly it's such a finnicky board that I wouldn't expect good results. Ryzen is tough to overclock as it is, let alone with a fussy mobo.
@@albiongashi3951 I have this board with ryzen 7 2700. I managed to overclock it 4.0Ghz at 1.3v. I have been using this settings for more than 5 months. 3 Months using Ryzen Master and 2 Months setting at the bios. If you have top flow air cooler, that would be nice. I am using Be Quite! Dark Rock TF and this cooler helps to cool down my chip, ram, vrm and anything near by the chip.
He sounds like the same people that want to live in a "tiny house." He wants all the "comforts" of a big house (motherboard) in a small/micro form factor. You have to give up things in order to get to the small/micro size. You cannot have it all.
You'd need to buy a separate fan controller, such as a Corsair Commander, or failing that you can use splitters to connect two fans per header - as long as you're not running crazy high power fans.
Yeah, i always make sure the VRM's are worthy. When i bought a lot of 3 8700K's which were tray CPU's at $200 a pop. I wanted a good z390 or great z370 motherboard. RGB sells, so i got 3 z370 Aorus Gaming 7's that had bent pins and were fixed, strait from Gigabyte's RTV department. They were only $150 each. That board was $250 new. Its loaded with everything but Wi-Fi. That can be fixed with a dongle or dual.band Wi-Fi card. Also, the z370 Aorus Gaming 7 is arguably the best z370 board, VRM wise. Other than the z370 GODLIKE. Plus the Gaming 7 lights up like a Christmas tree. I think it looks awesome. Especially in Corsair's 500SE RGB case with 4 LL 120's. I built 3 of these a while back and dropped in a few RTX 2080 Aorus cards set vertically. Fans aren't a problem being that this board has 8 fan headers. These rigs looked like $3000 setups when i was done. I only invested $3200 in these 3 systems and they all sold in the next 3 days. I made $2300 for each. $6900 was a nice return and the customers love it. The z370 Aorus Gaming 7 uses 10 60A smart power stages from intersil with the ISL69138 PWM controlling everything. They are the ISL99227B's (60A) which are basically the best SPS with built in logic, like over current protection along with over temperature protection. Theres a few more things they have like a little metal tab right on the chip for better cooling. The board is a 4+2 doubled to an 8+2 using 4 ISL6617A's, which are also smart. Able to current balance the ISL99227B 60A sps's. 2 are for the iGPU which is overkill and 8 for the Vcore. 480A for a 6core CPU is plenty. Also the board can be upgraded to the 9900K if needed. I tested a 5.2GHz 9900K on the AG7 and it easily handles the chip. Don't listen to those sites like Tom's Hardware. There motherboard and CPU testing us flawed but, they do have a awesome GPU testing set up. I've also picked up a few of those tray 9900K's for $400. Though, the 10700K's go for that now. But, looks are half the sell and No other motherboard looks like the z370 Aorus Gaming 7. Other than the 5 but it uses a lesser VRM and the 3rd PCIe slot doesn't light up. And no ESS SABRE qDAC. But, any VRM from intersil nowadays are top rated and used in most x570 and almost all of z490. There new 90A smart power stages sure sound good on paper but, the famous ISL99227B 60A sps stages can hang with the 90A cause efficiently drops if a cliff after 70A phases. The 70's and 90's are damn near identical. Going by efficiency. Some of the greatest OC x299 boards even used the intersil ISL99227B 60A smart phases. eVGA also uses these 60A SPS on there DARK series boards. Those are $500 boards. Like Gigabyte's Aorus Gaming 7Pro along with ASrock's x299 OC Formula and there z370 iTX FATALITY and z390 iTX board. Which use just 5 60A sps and can run a 5GHz 9900K. Check out Optimum Tech, he's done testing on the iTX boards.

RGB Fusion is a bit janky, but it's fine for basic effects like Colour Cycle / Rainbow Wave.
@@Adamant_IT Thanks for the advice! So RGB fusion is software offered by gigabyte?
@@Adamant_IT Also if my system doesnt have an optical drive how can I down load the drivers?
Thanks again!
You can update your chipset driver from AMD's app. Search google for AMD Chipset Driver and download the app.
If you are using AMD Graphics card you can download Adrenaline software for updating drivers for GPU and if you are using Nvidia Graphics Card you can download GeForce Experience which will download drivers for you and if you want you can download display driver from Nvidia's site directly.
Adamant IT thanks for the response I did end up going and getting myself a mortar max
Does it come with Ethernet connections ?
Did you use an older amd cpu or did use the 3600 cpu from the start?
I have this same board. Is there a difference between sata 3 and asata 3 connectors? The two by themselves are the asata 3s.
Could I ask what kind of RAM you have? on this build?
Patriot Viper 4 3400MHz
Greetings Adamant,Do you know any B450 mobo with updated BIOS for RYZEN 3200G CPU?
The MSI boards are updated out of the box.
Gotta love absolutely zero VRM cooling. That's actually pretty pathetic at this price point.
Which motherboard is best, I have to do overclocking and will use for 5+ years, Quality over price
1- Asrock B450 M Pro 4
2- Giagbyte B450 Aorus M
3- ASRock B450M Steel Legend
None of these are really heavy over-clocking mobos, but out of those:
I can't recommend the Aorus M because the BIOS is such a lottery. The Steel Legend would be your best bet. It's very similar to the Pro 4, but it's got bigger heatsinks and such that'll give you more head room.
Thanks for this video😍
Hey I got this MB and using Nvidia 1050 Ti I wonder can I buy another card and SLI it to mine crypto? Or can I buy amd and mine whit bought?
@@Adamant_IT Omg...lol
Ok, after some insane research for days, I finally found a video that shows you how to overclock on these boards.
I got this for my 3700x. everything's going great a month in
did you overclock?

I'm worried the gpu will block it or something. or that the lanes will be used
Naa you'll be fine. I'd try and pick a small wifi card though, non of the big gamer-style ones, else you'll have issues with airflow around the GPU.
@@Adamant_IT okie! thanks :) mine is a pci-e
I bought the msi b450m pro-m2 max for 50$ is it good or was this better?
SO in the end whats better, gigabyte B450 aorus M or gigabyte B450 DS3H?
I just ordered R7 3700x with Auros B450M, is this a good combination?
So long as you don't get stung by the awkward BIOS, it should work fine. It seems to be luck of the draw though.
@@Adamant_IT okay thanks for the feedback
I have new built pc using this mobo. My problem is I can't access bios by pressing "Del key" what should I do. I've already tried ps2 and USB keyboard. And different monitors also. I need help pleas...
What happens if you power it up with no drives connected? Usually a modern motherboard will drop into BIOS automatically if it has nothing to boot from.
Hi, what did you use to stick those motherboards to the wall
Nails through the old screw holes - just hung like pictures.
This does come with USB 2 front headers. This board has RGB headers, too
does that m.2 slot affect your gpu if you were to put it in the top pcie slot?
No, they're not linked. Top PCI-E [16x] slot is hard-wired directly into the CPU.
What about the Asus prime b450 m A II?
the M in the name basically means that it's smaller in dimensions than the regular B450 one?
yep

Some you do, some you don't. MSI Tomahawk Max / Mortar Max are both Ryzen 3000 updated out the box though, would reccomend.
does this support 3rd gen ryzen processors out of the box?
Some do, some don't. I would advise the MSI B450 Mortar Max over this board, since it's factory updated, and generally more stable.
He sounds like the same people that want to live in a "tiny house."
He wants all the "comforts" of a big house (motherboard) in a small/micro form factor. You have to give up things in order to get to the small/micro size. You cannot have it all.
What can i do, if i have 6 fans and i have this motherboard?
You'd need to buy a separate fan controller, such as a Corsair Commander, or failing that you can use splitters to connect two fans per header - as long as you're not running crazy high power fans.
Can. This motherboard use 2 graphics card and it can handle high end graphics card 2080 ti ?
It's not an SLI board, so I wouldn't use it for dual-graphics cards. I'd strongly recommend an ATX (not microATX) board for SLI.
Are these Ryzen 3rd gen ready out of the box?
Mine wasn't. I've had mixed reports about others - assume that it will need an update.
Does this support 3000MHz Ram?
Yes it does. I have 3400 in it at the moment, which is a bit finicky and required custom timings, but 3000 and 3200 worked without issue.
Sir can this MOBO works well with ryzen 3 3300x???
With a BIOS update, yes it would. But I'd recommend an MSI B450 Mortar Max over this board, it's better all around and won't need the BIOS update.

Yes you can, top slot on it is PCI-E 16x, which is for graphics cards
