i always forget that huda was an instagram influencer before launching huda beauty. to me she just seems like a very visible brand owner rather than an influencer who also has a brand.
I feel like with Huda specifically, she is as successful as she is because she is in Sephora. I, myself, tend to forget that the majority of the makeup consumer market are not in the youtube/influencer sphere. A lot of makeup lovers just casually buy pretty things at Sephora without knowing anything about the owners. Being in a major retailer is the best advertising you can have.
@@rianne_9042 I was only ever interested in her neon palettes but one of the glitters made my eyes really itchy so I decluttered it. But yes, great point about the international market. I was just thinking about the people who don't follow social media and all that.
I’ll be completely real I genuinely didn’t know that an influencer is behind huda beauty lmfao they definitely do a good job at separating her from the brand
i seriously think that lunar beauty is the next abh. the sophistication, the story and thought behind every palette, and the idea that he listens to his consumers is something i respect so much!!! also the products are bomb lol
the takes in this video are so good, like when you said 'maybe the celebrity doesn't care, but the team around them does' it's just so accurate. the celeb doesn't have to be super invested, but it makes me a lot more interested in the products when there's an obvious sense of pride in being the face of something and wanting to be representing something of quality. like we all know that it's a cashgrab, we live in a capitalist society, but at least make it a good cashgrab that has more than two seconds of thought put into it lol
The moment you mentioned cash grab, I immediately thought of Item Beauty. From what little I know of Addison Rae, she does TikTok dances and got her mom into that business. The company has made no mention of anything else coming out and right now, the only new item is a hoodie with a picture of Addison wearing it.
I mean all the products they have out now have really good reviews so while I don't think it makes sense for her to have a makeup brand at least the products aren't bad. I think she's trying to get away from being a ''tiktoker'' by doing by traditional celebrity things like acting and creating brands.

Having a spot reserved in Sephora when there are literally hundreds of competitors comes at a hefty price tag. Brands have such amazing PR simply by being sold at Sephora. That's why certain brands like Huda Beauty, UD, Anastasia, Benefit are doing fine I think although not many influencers are talking about them. There is a whole world of beauty lovers outside of RUclips who know nothing about drama or tea or scandals brand owners have been in and just want to buy nice makeup. But thing is all these brands are well established, some have loyal repeating customers. You are less likely to spend 40-45$ on an eyeshadow palette on a brand you are unfamiliar with, whose face you don't know than say an ABH new release or influencer collab. So I guess its harder for influencer brands to sell enough units, pay Sephora and end of the day still be profitable.

I STiLL listen to that album on repeat regularly!! The vibe, her sound, the LYRICS are honestly some of her best... shall I go on?

I quickly had to pause 😄 I guess I‘ve found Tara through you ☺️ I was just trying to recreate how I ended up with her.. if that sounds strange - English is not my 1st language & I meant it in a nice way! Usually I‘m silently watching & liking - every now and than I‘m chatty or/ and 🙈 a tiny bit tipsy so I suddenly feel like I might share my thoughts with the world 🤣🤷🏻♀️ However, I find it very interesting how I stick around with the same people for years, never actually looking/searching for others, but through collabs I might stick around somewhere else (yeah, that’s the point of it 🤷🏻♀️😄 I‘m not that dumb ^^) I‘m just glad that somehow the vibes seem to match ☺️ be it preferences in products/styles or ways of thinking & knowing you‘ll learn more 😉 (Like I‘ve never ever watched anyone from the ‚evolution of‘ videos - & sometimes, haven‘t even heard of them 🤷🏻♀️ that‘s my tiny cosy bubble I guess 😂 - guess I‘ve seen 2-3 videos from 2-3 folks you mentioned in your „rewind“ video 😇😄) I like to learn more about the RUclips culture & other stuff through you. Guess we share a lot of values, morals & ideals. Seem to appreciate the same kind of people - my makeup preferences are a bit different, I‘m living kind of across the world from you and am ‚a tad‘ older 😂 so what 🤷🏻♀️ All the „late Christmas ramble“... leads to, I think you are doing a great job on multiple levels.. and now might just be the time, you should hear/read it a little more often ☺️
When Huda Beauty launched, she took a step back from RUclips because she was the CEO. Recently, Huda Beauty got a new CEO and she's released more videos because she has the time now.
I LOVE em cosmetics! Theyre honestly so good and Michelle Phan taught me makeup and pulled me into the world of youtube beauty in 2008 so thats such a great icing on the cake 🤩

Can you do an honest best make-up brushes review?? There are sooo many in a huge range of price points ect, it would be awesome to see what you make of it all.
You have made this new chapter in my life of leaving my abusive family and living by myself very fun and motivating even though I don’t even have money to eat (while dealing with anorexia 😞) and several problems in general ✨ I love your opinions and your way of communicating them. Thank you for being part of my 2020 💜 I know that I’m gonna get out of this hole and your videos will always help me get my life a little bit together 😘

I made my first lunar beauty purchase last month and I already have three more items in my cart 👏🏼 the eyeshadow is amazing and the gloss...honestly my favorite 😍
After watching your video with manny, I have a lot more respect for the og influencer Brands because they dropped so much of their own $ into the concept without any guarantee of success. A lot of the newer brands seem more like a cash grab because they have seen the success of og influencer brands and can be more reckless investing in a brand because they know the audience will still buy it
you should definitely try em cosmetics! their products are amazing (i have the liquid lipsticks, lipgloss, and powder blush) and the packaging is always beautiful. i feel like michelle puts so much thought into her brand!
hannah did you see gabi’s “rebrand” ? her first video back after the “apology”. can you give your thoughts? did you find it sincere?? idk how to feel about it yet
Agree with most of this video but drew is more than just a spokesperson for flower beauty. I’ve seen videos of her talking about how and why she came up with the items and the details of it. Also, I believe it completely aligns with her personality! Especially in her 90s movies era style.
If you are looking for good color correctors I would highly recommend turning to professional makeup artists brands. Face Atelier has a great corrector duo concealer. One side is white and the other is red. You mix the colors to get the perfect shade for your skin tone. Also RCMA has great color correctors.
Hey Hannah! I’m a fan, but I noticed in your you said you don’t like to support Amazon, which I greatly respect, but one of your videos was an audible sponsorship. I’m not sure if you know, but Amazon owns audible, so you may have benefitted monetarily by supporting such a company.
Watching the candle wax slowly melting in the background is so satisfying to me for some reason 🤔 My candle of the day is Bath and Body Works Peach Bellini ❤
comments are lit this sunday morning hope you’re all having a good day, i JUST woke up for the second time today 🤪 lazy days and smokeyglow uploads- two of my favorite things
EM Cosmetics is AMAZING. Every product and launch always seems to have so much thought and care put into them. The liquid liner and serum blushes are really, really good.
I'm really surprised with you saying you don't support Amazon, when you had an Audible sponsorship two weeks ago. They also belong to Amazon. Don't get me wrong, I also try to diversify my shopping by going to bookstore and etc. But as a viewer it makes me question the brands you accept sponsorship from.
This was surprising to me too. I buy from Amazon but it was weird to hear the comments on amazon after the audible sponsorship. I feel like most people know the two are tied together, esp if you're sponsored by them
as a viewer, i understand that amazon basically owns everything and to moralize about not purchasing from amazon affiliate brands doesn’t really change the issue. bezos is a billionaire, we truly can never vote with our dollar here, it’s a deep-seeded issue of capitalism. that’s just my perspective tho idk...i wish there were ways we could avoid amazon but it’s quite literally everywhere, and affiliated with what seems like everything :/
I completely agree that unless someone told you, Flower Beauty does not seem like Drew Barrymore's brand (however I do think Flower Beauty is somewhat Drew's aesthetic just by what I've seen of her/heard of her). It took me a while to figure that out. On the same note, Honest Beauty and Jessica Alba felt the same way, I was shocked when I found out she was the owner (maybe other people weren't, but I was)
This is a bit unrelated but since we're talking about brands I know you mentioned the Balm in your other video!! No one ever talks about them (with the exception of maybe the Mary highlighter) and I agree they've always flown under the radar, however they're cohesive and have so pretty nice cheek products. I'd love to see you talk about them because I find them super interesting and their collective brand arc is a bit unusual.
What about veive.. by Jaime genevieve? God her collection looks so beautiful! And no one is really talking about it. Plus cannot wait for sam's brand to launch!
Loved doing this tag with you!! Happy Glowmas, everyone :)

I just want the unbiased reviews back (and maybe some more bomb ass products). Will def check out D'angelo's video though. Its on my list but haven't watched yet.
@@msadams224 on a lawsuit i agree, i am just disappointed when it came to drama and her reaction to it. I mean I am not super great fan of James Charled, but yeah. I mean her products when it came to pallete, i do believe it was and is good for sure. I do still know she is knowledged and experienced when it comes to makeup.
@@tidid5572 yes D’Angello Wallace video is a great video to watch. He is just so intelligent, articulate and funny.
You look sooo pretty ❤️
I’m going to miss Glowmas so much, thank you for all of the work you’ve put into this series.
I'm buying my first Lunar Beauty makeup because of your recent interview with him.
You won't be disappointed. His shadows and lip products are amazing.
Same here. I bought 2 eyeshadow palettes.
Lunar Beauty definitely deserves more hype! I’m so excited to see where the brand goes. I’m also really excited to try Em cosmetics and am impatiently awaiting my first order! 😄
I never considered this before, but when you mentioned Miley Cyrus..... ooof I would buy the hell out of that!
i’ve been having the worst anxiety of my life the past few days and your videos have been one of the only things that have been able to pull me out of it and i appreciate you for that ❤️ thank you
I feel like Kim's brand is a total cash grab, and Kylie sometimes gives off cash grabbey vibes, but some (maybe like half) do seem to be innovative and have cool packaging and actual thought put into them, even if it is often weirdly Kylie-centric.
The Haus Labs Lipsticks are really good btw. They are matte but not crazy uncomfortable. I adore the two I got.
@Heather Marie I'll have to try more. When I got them I think they only had mattes. Or at least that's the only ones I got.
I totally agree that Lunar Beauty and Dominque Cosmetics deserve more hype. I’m loving your shirt and the fact that you like folklore more than the newest album. I feel the SAME exact way. I STiLL listen to that album on repeat regularly!! The vibe, her sound, the LYRICS are honestly some of her best... shall I go on?
Audible is owned by Amazon! A great alternative is Libro.fm! It has the same credit subscription option or you can individually buy the book. And you get to choose an independently owned bookstore to support with each purchase!
“Taylor Allison Swift”....I die. Appreciate you!
I think Raw Beauty Kristi was doing some insider trading lol you can't tell me she didn't know about tswifts upcoming albums because the aesthetics were MADE for each other.
the green gold look is fully my fave hannah look of glowmas i think
this came just at the perfect moment, thank you so much for putting so much effort into your videos and posting them constantly! i just admire your hard work, keep it up:D
I quickly had to pause 😄 I guess I‘ve found Tara through you ☺️ I was just trying to recreate how I ended up with her.. if that sounds strange - English is not my 1st language & I meant it in a nice way!
Usually I‘m silently watching & liking - every now and than I‘m chatty or/ and 🙈 a tiny bit tipsy so I suddenly feel like I might share my thoughts with the world 🤣🤷🏻♀️
However, I find it very interesting how I stick around with the same people for years, never actually looking/searching for others, but through collabs I might stick around somewhere else (yeah, that’s the point of it 🤷🏻♀️😄 I‘m not that dumb ^^) I‘m just glad that somehow the vibes seem to match ☺️ be it preferences in products/styles or ways of thinking & knowing you‘ll learn more 😉 (Like I‘ve never ever watched anyone from the ‚evolution of‘ videos - & sometimes, haven‘t even heard of them 🤷🏻♀️ that‘s my tiny cosy bubble I guess 😂 - guess I‘ve seen 2-3 videos from 2-3 folks you mentioned in your „rewind“ video 😇😄)
I like to learn more about the RUclips culture & other stuff through you. Guess we share a lot of values, morals & ideals. Seem to appreciate the same kind of people - my makeup preferences are a bit different, I‘m living kind of across the world from you and am ‚a tad‘ older 😂 so what 🤷🏻♀️
All the „late Christmas ramble“... leads to, I think you are doing a great job on multiple levels.. and now might just be the time, you should hear/read it a little more often ☺️
the most scandalous would be tati's pills even though its not makeup damn still remember that
Straight up didn’t know Huda Beauty was an Influencer brand until this video lmao
Oh man I so agree with you about Miley Cyrus! Either working with Urban Decay or on her own brand it would definitely be rockin and different. Now I want this to happen 😫
Drew is the quintessential “flower child”, hence Flower Beauty. If you haven’t already, research Drew’s younger years. Free-spirit to the core. 🌸
I think Haley Williams (Paramore) could do some cool makeup. Esp with her new solo stuff her creativity is just 🤯
I’m glad it’s still glowmas🥺 I always get so depressed immediately after Xmas, but especially this year, I’m glad I still have something to look forward to😅
Can you do an honest best make-up brushes review?? There are sooo many in a huge range of price points ect, it would be awesome to see what you make of it all.
You have made this new chapter in my life of leaving my abusive family and living by myself very fun and motivating even though I don’t even have money to eat (while dealing with anorexia 😞) and several problems in general ✨ I love your opinions and your way of communicating them. Thank you for being part of my 2020 💜 I know that I’m gonna get out of this hole and your videos will always help me get my life a little bit together 😘
i hope it gets better for you soon! sending much love your way. stay safe and take care of yourself as much as you can♡ if can and it will get better eventually, i promise
@@morningbreeze3390 thank youuu 🥺💜✨
Miley Cyrus X Urban Decay is GENIUS!!!! If they do that, they better write you that cheque😂💰
Thinking back through this year, only two things made my year bearable : Two Taylor albums and Every single Smokey Glow video ! And I don’t even use make up. Just listening to someone with a brain on RUclips is refreshing
I’m sorry but Tyra banks’ mlm makeup line is by far the biggest cash grab
I made my first lunar beauty purchase last month and I already have three more items in my cart 👏🏼 the eyeshadow is amazing and the gloss...honestly my favorite 😍
Omg I was just wondering what to watch!!! Hannah's videos all glowmas has been a blessing
I was hoping for a vieve review! Congrats on the success of glowmas. Loving the green on your eyes!
After watching your video with manny, I have a lot more respect for the og influencer Brands because they dropped so much of their own $ into the concept without any guarantee of success. A lot of the newer brands seem more like a cash grab because they have seen the success of og influencer brands and can be more reckless investing in a brand because they know the audience will still buy it
I love that all throughout glowmas you have thrown in hints of your Swiftie stanness.
Swifties unite!
I’m excited for Samantha R’s makeup line
Me too!!!
you should definitely try em cosmetics! their products are amazing (i have the liquid lipsticks, lipgloss, and powder blush) and the packaging is always beautiful. i feel like michelle puts so much thought into her brand!
I want to try Jessica Alba's makeup brand. It's supposed to be clean makeup. Also the Drew Barrymore makeup line.
Congrats on your products!! I just bought your eye palette and am so excited to get it!!
I always love watching your candles melt while you talk
hannah did you see gabi’s “rebrand” ? her first video back after the “apology”. can you give your thoughts? did you find it sincere?? idk how to feel about it yet
Agree with most of this video but drew is more than just a spokesperson for flower beauty. I’ve seen videos of her talking about how and why she came up with the items and the details of it. Also, I believe it completely aligns with her personality! Especially in her 90s movies era style.
I also LOOOVE Jamie Genevieve's new brand!! So classy and beautiful
help i’m literally obsessed with your videos 😭😭 happy holidays!! 💕
i love you and tara so so so much. this is so awesome🥺💛
😘😘😘
If you are looking for good color correctors I would highly recommend turning to professional makeup artists brands. Face Atelier has a great corrector duo concealer. One side is white and the other is red. You mix the colors to get the perfect shade for your skin tone. Also RCMA has great color correctors.
hi, Hannah!
love the earlier upload, it's still evening where I am from!
Hope you had a happy holidays Hannah, and everyone else! Thank you for Glowmas! ♡
Love your makeup SO MUCH! ❤️
Today I learned Victoria Beckham has a makeup line.
It’s deeply overpriced for what you get 😑
It’s ridiculously expensive
@@unpopped I'll go ahead and forget about it now. 😆
Hey Hannah! I’m a fan, but I noticed in your you said you don’t like to support Amazon, which I greatly respect, but one of your videos was an audible sponsorship. I’m not sure if you know, but Amazon owns audible, so you may have benefitted monetarily by supporting such a company.
Watching the candle wax slowly melting in the background is so satisfying to me for some reason 🤔
My candle of the day is Bath and Body Works Peach Bellini ❤
comments are lit this sunday morning hope you’re all having a good day, i JUST woke up for the second time today 🤪 lazy days and smokeyglow uploads- two of my favorite things
Your eye makeup in here in amazing!!
I love your videos and always appreciate all the time and effort you put into them 💕
EM Cosmetics is AMAZING. Every product and launch always seems to have so much thought and care put into them. The liquid liner and serum blushes are really, really good.
Your eyeshadow looks so good with your glasses! Not as easy as people think ❤
Support libraries and local bookstores, not amazon! I love libby, which is a library app i use for audiobooks. And it's free.
She said she has been using Audible for years, I just think it’s not known information that Audible is owned by Amazon
This was surprising to me too. I buy from Amazon but it was weird to hear the comments on amazon after the audible sponsorship. I feel like most people know the two are tied together, esp if you're sponsored by them
She also has an Alexa that she uses in her videos when she does the talktorials.
as a viewer, i understand that amazon basically owns everything and to moralize about not purchasing from amazon affiliate brands doesn’t really change the issue. bezos is a billionaire, we truly can never vote with our dollar here, it’s a deep-seeded issue of capitalism. that’s just my perspective tho idk...i wish there were ways we could avoid amazon but it’s quite literally everywhere, and affiliated with what seems like everything :/
I completely agree that unless someone told you, Flower Beauty does not seem like Drew Barrymore's brand (however I do think Flower Beauty is somewhat Drew's aesthetic just by what I've seen of her/heard of her). It took me a while to figure that out. On the same note, Honest Beauty and Jessica Alba felt the same way, I was shocked when I found out she was the owner (maybe other people weren't, but I was)
ah omg loving the folklore hoodie!!!
The glowmass intro still has me tweaking in holiday for my daily exercise
Edit: spelling mistake it’s supposed to be tweaking not tweaking
.... did you mean to say twerking?
@@cecilia929 yes
I would love to see Kathleen Lights do a makeup line. she puts so much thought into her collabs and into her nail polish line too
Glowmas is almost over :( I’ve enjoyed your videos so so much this past month!
Tara did a good job with these questions. Glad you did this tag. Very informative and interesting. 😊
You're so right about Miley and Urban Decay
This is a bit unrelated but since we're talking about brands I know you mentioned the Balm in your other video!! No one ever talks about them (with the exception of maybe the Mary highlighter) and I agree they've always flown under the radar, however they're cohesive and have so pretty nice cheek products. I'd love to see you talk about them because I find them super interesting and their collective brand arc is a bit unusual.
What about veive.. by Jaime genevieve? God her collection looks so beautiful! And no one is really talking about it. Plus cannot wait for sam's brand to launch!
Love glowmas!! And your videos ❤
Love seeing you team up with subscribers 😁
Me too 😉
omg youre so right about miley cyrus, that brand would be incredible
