    the way that james tried to throw a pity party by being like "i guess i have to ID people" was soooo obnoxious. if verifying ages of people is the hardest part of your job because it's just so difficult to be professional and keep it in your pants, you need a reality check :)

    It's the same reason doctors and therapists can't date their patients and why teachers can't date their students. It's literally the same power dynamic. I was abused by a spiritual teacher turned partner and it really fucked me up. Even if they don't know it, dating and flirting with fans is abusing that power dynamic.

    Let’s be honest here. David fully knows the power he has over people. Maybe he doesn’t realize socially, but he knows he has financial power. There’s been so many clips of his friends begging him not to put a clip in and his response is to pay them off.

    • @tyreek.6815

      Like, as Seth said, he was having a lot of money trouble and David super held that over him which is disgusting

I’m all for Seth speaking his truth but I’m not gonna hold that part against David tho. Seth choose to stay for how long and also chose to say “jokes” on HIS part. No one can force you to do anything, in this context. You are your own person no ones controlling you. The fact that David held that over him has no significance to him still being there. Okay your broke so your feeding off a rich person so you complain that he held that your broke against you to make you stay? That’s a no. Sometimes you have to take risk. Instead of feeding off someone who may or may not be a good person you always make sure YOUR okay. Notice how everyone still in David’s group have their own thing going even Dom. I don’t think that specific part is valid. Just my opinion and view on it. You can hate David all you want but don’t put everything on him just because he’s the target of interest. Say what you want about Ethan/h3h3 but Ethan is going HARD to hold David and Jason responsible. His fans are annoyed at how much he talks about it but he keeps talking about it because he wants to fight the way male SA is swept under the rug, downplayed, or laughed at and wants David and Jason themselves to come forward and make a statement. It could have been a one off video/podcast but then it'd quickly become old new and forgotten but h3 doesn't want it to go away without any apologies or statements being made by David. I am so concerned about the fact that people are coming back maybe a couple of years later (eg. Sometimes it takes time for people to realise they've been wronged and speak out about it. That's why we have diagnoses like PTSD (not diagnosing or saying he has it, just making a point.) Victim shaming/blaming is SOOOO toxic and, as you say, shows the imbalance of power. I, also, don't think it's good enough for the original "leader" to intimate that "I gave you everything you have, now shut up and put up with the shit." You could say exactly the same thing about a person who gives someone, who is down and out, a job and they end up making a real success of their lives. Yes, they gave them a leg up but they don't forever expect them to bow down and lick their feet. These kids have far too much power and don't have the maturity to cope with it. And obviously they hid it cuz 1) this was in the beginning of quarantine when they knew they shouldn’t be traveling and actually tried hiding it unlike now where they just openly show all the times they’ve traveled for fun and 2) cuz they knew people would call David out for involving his friend in yet another very dangerous stunt.

    Ever since that video of David & Liza resurfaced when they made fun of Asians, I was completely turned off by both of them. I know they apologized. There's plenty of other content creators who deserve views. James....thinks he can act with impunity. And with all the enablers and "yes" people around him, why wouldn't he?

      On top of all that their “apology” was so incredibly vague and disingenuous. Liza’s instagram post read more like a filibuster w a cute aesthetic than an actual apology. They really tried to pass it off as “we didn’t know it was racist” when in the original video itself they acknowledged how racially insensitive it was but said if they laughed it off it wouldn’t be racist 💀 So many other RUclipsrs have done way worse things yeah but i feel like the community really holds up David and Lisa as some unproblematic saints and I was so disappointed seeing that video but even more when they didn’t even bother putting out a proper apology.

    In “Bye Sister” Tati said James was talking to Gabriel Zamora when she was there about what she perceived as “trying to trick a straight man into thinking he’s gay.” The man in question, Sam the waiter, made a video with screenshots of conversations he’d had with James including James saying “I did not think you were 19 omg” “You’re not straight no matter how many times you tell yourself” and “When you’re drunk the truth always comes out.” These are direct quotes, he actually implies Sam was drunk when they made out. The second James dropped “No More Lies” the narrative became James brought receipts about 100% of everything and Tati made it all up because she’s a homophobe, which never made sense to me. He didn’t address that at all but nobody cared. So from James’ point of view, everyone was satisfied with his incomplete explanation and people were mad enough at what Tati got wrong that they didn’t look any further into what she may have gotten right, that he could pretty much get away with any scandal because people felt bad about what she did to him. And honestly, he did get away with a lot of things for a long time. I’m not saying this to defend Tati, I’m just saying she was correct about that. Whatever anyone says about her and that video, we all should have at least listened to Sam.

      @thisisside01 3 года назад +4

      No offense taken, you didn’t sound aggravated to me. I agree with everything you just said. My original point was just that I wasn’t surprised to hear the new allegations because I never forgot Sam’s screenshots and I wonder what might have happened (or not happened) if public perception had emphasized that a little more. If Sam used James for clout, that’s terrible, and if James plied a guy with alcohol and tried to confuse him, that’s terrible too, and it sounds like both happened.
