I just got my Dare a few days ago, and yes, once you connect it to your computer (say, to sync music), it starts to charge on its own.
I had the dare for about three years and took a HUDGE step up to the iPhone 5:) but I still kinda miss that dare.
the detachable keyboard..is pretty revolutionary for touch screen phones IMO. They say they will put out other "modules" of other stuff you can attach to the versa...so we will have to see how far they actually take this phone!

The LG dare was my first phone. I got it when i was 12 :) so many memories. I’ve had so many phones since then but this phone will always have a place in my heart ❤️
i have the dare and i love it! but i like the dare better cuz the screen is a little bit more wider than the versa while the versa is a little longer

i have the dare and dont worry about txting, you get used to it easaly, the only problem i have is that some times you go for the space button, but you hit the period one instead

I love my Versa. I love the keyboard. Using the touch screen is hard for texting.
2 yrs ago I chose the dare. Great phone. Unfortunately, I text very fast and it takes a while to catchup. Pictures take long. After so long, you forget what's so great about it and you get bored. I am thinking of the lg cosmos touch. I wish anyone luck in finding a great phone for their personalities and lifestyles

I definently LOVE my dare, but i HATE trying to use the qwerty touchscreen. I would love to have that detatchable keyboard. Having 3 menus on the versa is cool too. They should make a Dare2 with a detatchable and the versa software!
I've got the Dare. I haven't used the Versa, but I've heard it's good too.
Basically, it's just personal preference. I love my phone, and I'd pick it over the Versa.
it has its on touch screen keyboard but if u don't want to use that, then u can use the physical modulated keyboard
i got the dare and i am very pleased, just i would like a new software for it like the versa, cause i really like the spinning cube, and the menu style, where the dare is more plain. they should just merge the software onto the dare and be done.
i have the dare and it looks way better then the versa. only thing is the add on qwerty case is pretty niffty
i had an LG dare :) lvoed it, getting a lg versa soon.
you have to shrink the file to less then 400k and send it as a sound to your own phone like a message. then you can set it as a ringtone.
Imagine if they had a detachable game pad so you can have complex games on your phone.
i actually use my dare as my main mp3 player. i don't use my ipod at all even the quality of the sound is better off the ipod. sound's still great on the dare and it's easy to use

i dont see why they just dont make like a perfect phone with like a 3.2 camera, touch sreen, QWERTY keyboard, music, web broswer, and all of the other cool stuff
I have the Versa and i love it. It only froze once and that is because i was on the internet in a bad area. There is no flaws and alot better than the Dare.
I was just going to say that, that I wish I could get the versa software on my dare.

The LG Dare is TOOOO small. I used to have it for 3 years almost right before I got the iphone on the morning of February 11. I had the Palm Treo before that, I miss that phone.
i agree the dare has a better touch screenand better features
They both have resistive touchscreens right? A capacitive touchscreen would make for easier and more precise scrolling and for moving icons around.

the dare is waay more responsive than the storm. my friend has the storm and she says that it's really unrespopnsive and she'd rather have the dare. but i like the versa :]
wth this video had me excited for the keyboard now i have to buy it
it's not the typing that's difficult, for instance tmobile or at&t have an outbox that puts sending messages in and doesnt go to a screen for 30 seconds or completely freeze your phone. the dare brings you to a sending screen then confrims its been sent and sits there for 5-10 seconds with a frozen screen.
i work at verizon y'all should get a blackberry curve...its the best phone we sell IMO but if you don't wanna do the 29.99 a month get an env touch

YES!!!...i had went through 4 of them and got a replacement phone..i now have the LG env touch its sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better
the keypad sepretaly costs money but if u order the phone from verizon at first u should ask them to give u the keypad with it so u don't have 2 pay extra 4 it later

I had a versa but then I lost it... I have never lost one before. Noone found it at my school or turned it in. It was a good phone though. Reliable
Obviously you would say that but i have the Dare and have used the Versa, i would say the Dare is better in a lot of ways.

Love your reviews bro. So... I know the Env Touch is coming out of June 5. When can we expect a review? Plus do you know what software it will have? I'm hoping for the same as the Versa but I'm doubting it because it's much cheaper. Any initial thoughts?

Its not. Iv been looking. But around online you get get it for like 50-120 if you have an update. If not, its gonna be like 100-200 on ebay :(

I had the Dare for awhile and I hated it! but then I switched to the Versa and I love it! The Versa is soo much better than the Dare! trust me!

he is talking pretty loud, but anyways i have the lg versa and its prob the best phone in verizons multi media phone line up, it has cool features, cool keyboard and with out the keyboard it still kicks ass, i love the versa, they done have the versa on the shelves or on display at verizon but just ask them they have them in the back, get ther versa. i love it.
Well i would kick the enV touch out of your comparison. (nothing that special about it). On the VERSA, the 2.5mm headphone jack and the smaller screen for web browsing could be a setback. however the additional keyboard is good when ur tired of using the on screen keyboard. The DARE is good except for the touch screen is hard to interact with sometimes. If you like to text, i say go with the VERSA. If you like internet and music, i say go with the DARE. Its really what you need in a cell phone.

honestly, ive never used one. but my friend has one and he says it isnt all that great. plus from comments and reviews ive seen, i wouldnt get it. not saying its a bad phone, just not one everyone should rush and get.

ummm i tink it obviously the versa i mean they are the same but the versa can detatch from its case
I find that versa is a very good concept, huge possibility and potential to be a good phone whereby it has the "module" concept, but i find that both the hardware and software are still far too disappointing to me. Overall, i find that the versa is just a normal average feature phone.

hey if u put one of those thin screen cover slips on a touch screen phone to protect it from scratches, does it make the touchiness of the phone harder to touch or is still the same

oh, i think the keypad makes it look more masculine than anything. or you could just take off the keyboard and have a trouch screen.

I'm sad they don't make those cases for the Versa :/ I bought mine just in time for them to stop making them =/ At any rate, I totally hate the Versa too me, it just sucks =/
