The blue is the color of the ocean! Doug, the previous video and this video are prime examples of how to think one's way through turning problems. The bowl is BEAUTIFUL!! SAFE TURNING, John
I love your work, creativity and ideas. I'm just getting back into wood turning after way-to-many years from doing it. I have never turn with resins, but I am into it now. Thanks much for the shows.
I watch a lot of wool turning on you tube and they make some beautiful items but I can honestly say for me yours are the best. I absolutely love your work this last bowl is fantastic
Hi Doug, absolutely love this bowl, the colours you made with the resin are perfect for the ocean and are just stunning. The box elder wood itself has some awesome features of it’s own and together make one VERY PRETTY bowl. 🎭💜🎭
Hi Doug, sorry I haven’t been around for a while I’ve been extremely sick in more mays than one. Some days I do get to while lie down watch some YT videos that my Hubby sets up for me, but I cant leave messages but I have tried to keep up as much as possible with certain YTers such as yourself. I hope that life is finding you and your wife well and that you can forgive me for not being around all the time. I miss our chats and laughs. You take care Doug Cathy 🎭💜🎭
Thank You Cathy, you take care and rest if you need to, the video's will still be here when you feel you can watch them, I do miss the chats but it's ok I understand, Take care now. Doug
That shine juice is great. Before you put it on the inside, the light reflection was a blur. By the time you were done, you could see the individual bulbs. Incredible.
This guy seriously bro you got an awesome gift, very talented and a great personality with every video I have watched. Honestly everything you have made that I have seen looks fatastic and I would gladly buy any of these
Ocean bowl. Humm🤔. Why is it, when looking at the completed project, I can hear the late Bobby Darien singing "🎶 Somewhere,🎶 beyond the sea...🎶" It's absolutely gorgeous! The color of the wood, reminds me of an old ship's map!👍💖⛵
Another great piece. Great work man. If you don't point out the flaws most won't notice them. I have this problem also. Every time I build something all I see is the flaws. But others just compliment it. It is beautiful. Can't wait to see what's next
Another successful endeavor. Maybe not an ocean but a very well proportioned stream opening up to two small lakes. Loved the finish. I am always impressed by your creativity. Also appreciate that you specify measurements. Levis Canada
Thank You David, been a long time for me too, to bad she is in the UK and probably my daughters age. she is fun to talk to also and her video's... I could just listen to her talk for days, wouldn't even care what it's about !
Haha you’re funny shouldn’t chat and burn fella! That bowl was fabulous! Another beautiful creation from The best barn ever! Foxy heading your way soon 🌲🦊🌲😘
Absolutely lovely. The crack couldn't be seen on my phone so it didn't take away from the beauty. I doubt that it does at all and unless you'd be using it to hold liquids it wouldn't matter much... Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely in love with your work there fellow Mivhigander... I used to live in Jackson, my mom still lives in Quincy....I transplanted to Ca to take care of my elderly gran. Would absolutely love to apprentice under you...sit on your shoulder and watch it done. Makes me sure miss home. #GoBlue #Michigander
maybe not so much ocean bowl, more like continent and island. very nice. nothing is ever perfect but we all ways work to get better. awesome work thank you.
Once again 1 amaziin piece of wood art. My best friend loves the ocean goes every year on her bday. .which is comn up i can please. Buy that ocean bowl...it would mean tha world to her... but anyways keep doing what u doin ur a master woods art craver.....unbelievable...
Hey Doug Boxelder trees are in pretty much all parts of the US. They are homes to the boxelder bugs which are a pesky bug in the spring and fall. To get rid of them you need to get rid of the trees, so it’s not really possible however by telling people that some will allow you to remove them. Oh yeah I retired from the Pest Control industry after 17 years so I’m not making this up. That could be a source of boxelder wood.
Another beautiful piece. Im missing something? Your sanding a little, using sanding sealer, my abrasive paste and my polish, then OB shine. Your getting great results. Why is everyone still going through all those grits(up to 20,000) and all that water still? Dont understand that. Wait till we come out with our Step One and Step Two and see how easy it is for hybrids but actually this is good enough, your work speaks for itself!!
Thank You Tom, actually I sand a lot ! it's just to boring to put in the video, I sand from 80 to 320 grit before applying sealer, then sand again and seal again, then your products, the abrasive paste works great and fills most of the smaller defects and the polish basically seals them in and the shine juice well it MAKES IT SHINNY ! I took a little more time with next weeks project, the second bowl (not filmed) but I run the abrasive paste a second time and worked at the resin a bit lighter adding more as I needed it and that worked out the scratched much better, then on to the polish only on both of the bowls,

Thank you Patrick. I am sure you can do it !
I just love watching these ideas of yours start out as a block of wood and come to life as beautiful treasures!
