I love that Ffion's videos are like in the 5-10 min range for instructionals. Coming from Danaher's, these are alot easier to digest and watch and rewatch.
Brill instructional for a super super handy take down! - seeing the contrast/translation into no gi was very helpful as someone who trains both as I'm sure many others here do as well!! Keep it up Ffion!!
A little detail that I hope nobody missed, but make sure you get your uke's arm to the front of your body (or russian tie) and prevent them from getting an underhook. If not, they can take their left foot forward and sweep you with an osoto gari or some hip toss.
Amazing! For the gi one, Is there likely risk to partner when we put our knee / shin against their knee just as we throw!? I imagine it only could hurt them if we drive forwards and not backwards?
Good question! But I think she wouldn't take such a risk. So I think perhaps the pro grappling level is so high that all she has to do is remove the crucial PRO LEVEL details that make her technique work vs other pro's, because there's still so much that is wholly unknown and deeply appreciated by dweebs like us.
Both techniques are great.... but neither are sumi-gaeshi. First is a variation of Tomoe-Nage (John Wick does it in the first movie) and the second is a variation of Sukui-Nage. (3rd Degree ⚫: Judo / 🟣 Jiujitsu)
mate this is a sports tutorial for a sport. in a real fight I'm sure everyone would be like chewing out their opponents eyeballs or something but sadly in BJJ there are things called rules that mean that some moves that aren't viable in a real fight become very effective very quickly in a comp
At long last a tutorial explaining how to get the best out of the opponent's grip rather than telling us "just break the grip, bro !"
You should still break the grip, bro
@@Hekkler72you often can’t break the grip though it’s too strong
@@Hekkler72lot of times the break isn’t going to happen.
I think hekklers trollin is all

Honestly love Ffion's videos, they're short but you can learn so much from them and apply them right away

3:14 is why I watch Ffion🐐
LOL
THE END😭 so cute i love jiu jitsu wow
This is gold. We need more of this. Not breaking grips, but using them against your opponent? Mind blown. 😮
fantastic as all your instructionals :) very clear and also fun to watch :)

Style of telling is very effective, appreciate Very much 👍
This is very helpful! And thd Homer Simpson voice is hilarious! Thank you, Ffion!!
soft & floppy ones - Oh Matron!
Really nice explanation
amazing! thanks for the amazing class! ❤
Great video. The Gi grip fighting is super helpful
Great, it compléments well one system that I saw to ma'age the stiff arms
Ooh, just what I needed. Thank you!
Nice take down ill try it
LOVEE THISSS. Thank you, Sensei!
Isn't the nogi version more closer to kosoto gari/gake ?
I have no clue where the sumi was in that clip. Definitely closer to a kosoto or a simple ashi. Either way I will gladly take her pointers on sumi.
@@lprisk2013 The gi version was definitely an outer sumi gaeshi BTW. Agreed looked more like kosoto for the nogi one
Yeah she’s clueless
That really was a nice 2 on 1.
The nogi version is not a sumi gaeshi at all, but a ko soto gake.
Exactly
Yes I’m surprised. Ffion supposedly was a national level judoka. The nogi version is nothing like sumi
This was awesome. Thanks
Great details Thx !
The rainbow wow cat just puts me in a good mood watching these
Love your videos
This is very good.
What is the name of the second takedown?
Sumi Gaeshi is my tokui waza. I love this techniques.
Lovely!
❤❤ great video

Very clever ultilsing the opponents grip rather than breaking it
awesome
🔥
You’re awesome 🔥🔥🔥
Sumi Gaeshi..OSSA
Gaeshi means Scissors
Sumi means Sweep or Throw.
Ily Ffion
Muscle big!
obg!
Ive been doing this to my dog recently without knowing what I'm doing
wow
I can hear a hint of a US accent developing in the intro
Is that an In n out gi ? 🤤
Basically just judo.
Do you ever wonder if you're giving up too many of your techniques for your opponents to see? Good luck at ADCC!!

We don’t like limp, floppy things 😂 word
“Why you copying me” lol
Only making a comment for the algorithm lol
Uke didn’t pass the vibe check lol
Can you do an episode on smothers? Cuz girl, you take my breath away
Expire energy, ima use that 😂
This isnt Sumi. The gi was yoko wakare, no gi was kosoto
We don't like limp floppy things
She's so bubbly XD
Expire is absolutely a word. It means to die or to exhale in the present tense.
Yep she was just looking for expend 😊
She thiiiick!!! Just sayin....great vids
Hi beautiful
are u single?
The uke is actually her boyfriend IRL and a competitor in his own right.
Both techniques are great.... but neither are sumi-gaeshi. First is a variation of Tomoe-Nage (John Wick does it in the first movie) and the second is a variation of Sukui-Nage.

I hope this champion girl becomes a Muslim like Royce Gracie
Why? XD
Hahahahha
Why??
What a weird and unhinged comment
Bizarre and cultish comment bro
A bit higher level grappling than the average duck won't have time to think and use in a real fight.
That's what training is for
