This should be in every drummers video list of ‘essential learning’!
No click tracks in those days. Whole band on stage. Drummer and Percussionist locking it down.
You can not replicate the feel and vibe of real human musicians communicating musically through the power of synergy. You just can’t.
Classic shit right here.....younginz please, please don't let gogo die, it's DC culture
Doing everything I can OG. Always.
I'll play it for my kids I promise 🤝
Just be honest and say "Keep DC gogo BLACK).
This man truly understands the art of gogo, and what an amazing art it is.
These brothers are advanced ,,,I thought Bernard Purdie was great ,but these guys are no joke,,,this is the first I have heard of Go Go,,,I want more,,,these brothers are BRILLIANT,,,,DD in Los Angeles
bless Domain Cymbals for recording this. a masterclass in the go-go beats that have fueled my life.
Buggy literally took it from that fast go-go my parents love, to my pockets & sockets, to my son's bounce beats. 3 generations of go-go.
wonder why DMV kids are so good at basketball? listen to the beats they dribble to. that's the secret "sauce". pun intended.
Yo I grew up off Buggy his style is phenomenal!
Buggy is definitely one of the drummers who has and is still influencing so many.
Buggy and Stomp Dogg are my two favorite drummers of all time
Buggy Jeff Stomp
@@qcthoneqc Much respect to all these guys. They are still making good music !
Jammin Jeff and Sugarfoot Ricky
Yes DMV
Jamming Jeff is the truth! Nothing against the other 🥁 drummers. And Buggy developed into a perfectionist it's amazing to witness. He's become a teacher
Luv That Pocket Beat
Buggy and sauce this was amazing the world needed this
I'm from Cali and I am a huge go-go head! This is such a great video! Thanks for sharing Buggy! You are one bad mug

I can listen to this guy play them drums ALL DAY.
This went over my head years ago. Years later I scavenged through RUclips trying to find this again. This man is undeniably amazing
Same for me man!
Buggy Bruh! I don’t think that I’ve ever wrote a post on any social media site but DAMN! Had to drop this on you and just say THANK YOU! Appreciate the love, history & bringing back cold memories... Born 1969 (Mississippi Ave. SE)
Hasn't anyone noticed that he's using the Vinnie Paul signature snare? How awesome is that! What a great sounding drum!
M.I.J.O Official I can picture him playing Pantera on it at home lol
glad you added your comment....I was just about to comment asking what snare that is
What a great sound!!!

1 on 1 Jyb luv
Man, Buggy and Sauce.....no words can explain their crank. Talented men right there! DMV all day.
Go-Go is sugar foot Ricky...Period. If you love go-go it’s beat with double beats (Thanks Ricky) with Smokey and Bear Valley Green.... nothing against the younger bands....but learn from the best. Remember when you learn the lesson..you can take the exam....learn that beat. Much love and respect DC
Sugarfoot Ricky Wellman was the GOAT!
A true lesson in being a drummer in Go Go
I’ve had the honor and pleasure to witness the greatness of Buggy and Sauce aka The Engine and the transmission, True G.O.A.T.S of our generation! #BYB4LIfE
All my backyard fans know all about that
Dope Jam
I LOVED growing up in the DMV. Nothing like GoGo! #crankage
"Buggy" is so Solid, Tight & Clean. Bro, I'm just SMH.
I remember he use to play with my buddy Mike Johnson back in the 90's in church & he was nice back then.
He is Black so all the prejudiced blacks will welcome his teachings on gogo
@@terryhurts7172 Your reply is not clear. Please explain your comment, thanks.
@@educapro The DC Baltimore Blacks are prejudiced to anyone playing gogo who is not black.
@@terryhurts7172 Ahhh, ok understood ...interesting. Whole different vibe in DC than where I'm from in Texas. Very interesting. -much respect, educapro .
This is beautiful I’m from the south and always admired DC style of music the drums are incredible
Appreciate the love from the South. See if you can come up for the next installment of this clinic on Saturday 12/14/19. www.eventbrite.com/e/2nd-annual-drum-circle-presented-by-domain-cymbals-tickets-78181100777?aff=ebdssbeac
Never forget, Chuck Brown is from North Carolina. He’s a country boy too.
Same, I’m from Memphis and can’t get enough
Wow! This was very instructional to me. There is a depth and variety to go_go percussion that I didn't comprehend. All I knew is that go_go is by default poly_rhythmic. So, big up to my cuz, Rob Allen in Richmond, VA ( geographically near to the orbit of DC ) for sharing this with me.
Buggy and Sauce Been dope a looong time. They are to Gogo what the Funk Brothers are to Motown, Jellybean Johnson and Sheila E. is to Hollyrock and Jabbo and Clyde are to James Brown Funk. I just hate that this clip is just now introducing them to many. I am from Birmingham, Al and went to my first Gogo in 86 when my uncle lived in SE DC and as a drummer I listen to gogo at some point EVERYDAY. Congrats to Buggy “The General” and Sauce.
So true brother so true.
you listen to this style everyday, please enlighten me as to as many examples as possible for my bass playing, i find it important to a certain project.
@@theatmospherefactory9265 whats your ig. I will forward u alot of videos. So u can understand our music better
dudes landed their spaceship down from planet rhythm, they be playing like they have been coming back, for centuries.

He's freaking the hi-hat
Dude OMG... That GoGo stuff is so dope to play... I got to make it to DC/DMV ✊✊✊ super dope
There is a band for everyone! Most bands play at venues in Suburban Maryland, a few in DC and a few in Northern Virginia. Just ask around or check out the bands IG pages and you'll find the next show. Enjoy!
Marcus Wood ok cool man... These dudes are great ✊✊👌👌👌
Can you give me their IG page name
You gotta catch Rare Essence at Fast Eddie's in Camp springs
THEY NEED AN INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM
Damn Buggy is a professor! Dude is gifted..Jamming Jeff is a legend.!
I so miss this guy. He is seriously one of my favorites. I remember meet his while I was working at a studio BYB practiced at, and Paul showed me how to make a bass drum thump. He's a really good guy. I miss you Buggs!
This is the foundation of go go music. Im glad for vudeos like this
Man - this feel is everything. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad Buggy played the bounce beat because years ago I was explaining to someone that Buggy was the 1st to play the bounce beat back in 98/99, even on skillet when he switches the beat its literally a bounce beat
Powerful legends - thank you brothers.
Real drummers don’t need a 25 piece kit throne to sound good. Looks impressive but equipment can never beat skill. To the young cats perfect your craft with a small kit. Know how to communicate with your band musically
No lie, I'm so grateful to God for allowing me to find this video and this drummer... amazing!
Even if I move away I'll always come back to where everything is a jont I'm a slim and the music is real surrious 🙏🏼
AGAIN LEGENDSAT IT AGAIN!!!! I love you two Buggy and Sauce! Keep up GREATNESS!!!!
Come here cause I saw B Slade with a cover « Let Us Not Be Weary » and the people wrote « DC GO-Go ». I’m from Europe and this feeling is everything I was listening some years ago… Didn’t even know that the name was GOGO🤦🏾♂️ Thanks you! This feeling’s very important ! Thanks for this music!

Wow...what a groove master. Beautiful guy, great player!
love to see my brothers happy livin life and havin a good time DC can set the example for the black community!!💯LOVE MY CITY SLIM !!!WE ARE ONE!!!
Classic already!!! 💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve seen Buggy do a drum clinic at Eastcoast Drums in MD and he is pretty good and a funny individual too!
The look and the sound of that Vinny Paul snare drum!!!!! That beat got smooth groove, going to immediately add that to my arsenal
"gotta make sure he aight before we laugh tho" that's DC/MD manners right there! 😂
The slightly older generation might argue Heavy One and Mickey were the best percussion due and true pioneers but with all music, its timeless and always evolving! I've been sharing this to everyone I know who hasn't seen it!
Marcus Wood wuzup please look at what I put in the post and tell me if I'm wrong
Never heard heavy one as being the best drummer in the DMV.
Marcus Wood yes i would argue that, Along with Mac Carey one of the original go go drummers. Mac played with the peace Makers.. trouble funk in their heyday and Chuck
Dayvid Brooks I concur, I think Mac Carey was the best drummer in go-go and Sugar Foots my #2 choice. A lot of folks never heard of Mac.
Jeff and Sam was tough too!!! The water messed EVERYBODY up!!
This is awesome....thanks for helping me to understand
Thank you for posting this! That pocket is TIGHT. That’s how you establish the groove!
Lessons taught by true professionals and it doesn't get any better.
Omg that fill was so nasty 5:57 - 6:00
SICK!!!
a fantastic document of musical history
I love this dude!🥁💪🏾🔥
My dude..Paul, still doing the damn thing! Proud of you my friend, my brother, my former classmate..that's right...back to elementary school...MOTEN ELEMENTARY!! Lol!!! But you are right....GO-GO do need too Grow more than what we have..and had back in the day....Go-go, is powerful and it needs to grow. Chuck, ain't here no mo...so..Paul, keep doing what you doing bro, too keep GO-GO ALIVE!!!!
ITS NOT BECAUSE GO GO IS THE ONLY MUSIC IN THE WORLD THAT CANT BE COPIED BY THE INDUSTRY
DAMN!!! I love this!!
Showing some Petersburg love. We always loved gogo esp JY

On that funky drummer drumming all they was missing was California funky guitar
wow!! THIS IS GREAT!!!
The best drummer and Congo players in the DMV
Thank you. Ain't Going No Where . We Blessed
I love that 8" deep snakeskin snare drum cranked up super tight.
Feels so good
I wish I could like this video twice.
Yasssss more please 😘😘
DC STAND UP!!!!
Love to see Buggy and Sauce go to fuggin work !! Legendary ......
I love u Buggy and Sauce for this video. Gogo needs more of these informative videos and workshops....BYB4LIFE
Hey Orlando. The next installment of this clinic is coming up this month. www.eventbrite.com/e/2nd-annual-drum-circle-presented-by-domain-cymbals-tickets-78181100777?aff=ebdssbeac
So inspiring!!
Sweet!
Luv you buggy. As a drummer, you have provided me great lessons, just listening to you. See you soon brother
THIS FEELS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD.
This is why back the best band
Mad dope lessons.💯✊🏾
Y'all... Partyin wit you in New Orleans.
This is infectious. Makes you instantly wanna move those hips and smile. I started listening to GoGo in the 80’s of course Da Butt & EU brought it to the forefront… but it left this white boy wanting more! I got into Rare Essence, Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers, etc. Even more, it’s inspired me to inject that funk or elements thereof into my own music. I write EDM and Pop. I’m a keyboardist of 44 years. But you cannot go wrong w GoGo. Hope to see a live band rock out some day (I’m in Raleigh NC) I’d just be too tempted to wanna join em and collaborate!
Talent☄☄
I been watched this when I came out then. My guys have been doing this for 20+ So as BYB fanatic growing up and none bias fan. Biggie and Sauce are correct. BYB been playing many different styles and rhythms that why no one could really surpass them. If you think their playing. Go listen too... “BYB DopeJam 98” Version. They’ve done so much for GoGo and the vets before them.
Now this is a rhythm section!
Good stuff gentlemen!
Buggy is one of the Gods on drums, WOW !!!
His roll from spare to kick is so damn smooth moe
DC's own!!!
I love this!! #PerfectionBandShowNEDC!!!
Get Drake do a reunion Sheer Madness is👊🏾
National treasures right here....✊🏾
thank you OG
Ain’t nothin’ like a dope snare drum! That thing looks and sounds beautiful 😍 Dude is crazy funky on them drums!
Amazing video!
He’s playing the vinnie Paul signature snare!
Buggy reminds me of my drum teacher at Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Mr. Thompson. Very eloquent with how he spoke to you as far as music theory. But when it's time to display his repetition at playing drums, it's a wrap!
Lovinit!!!
DAMN THE ONE ON ONE IS ROCKIN
I appreciate this big homie
i love you bro PBE for life!!!!
It's like Watchin Jordan & Pippen!!!💪🏾💯♠️🗣🗣🗣
Great!
