FYI (to everyone who watches that video): 1) Almost 90% of Indians don't cook with cowdung. 2) people who do cook with cowdung, clean it as shown. 3) There are also other methods of cooking these 'Dough Balls', so please do try it whenever possible, as this may scare/ scar many people. This is a delicious dish. 4) Cheers to Sonny for not disrespecting this method... And for people who still can't digest the cowdung fact, remember there are people who drink/consume civet coffee (coffee beans passed through a particular species of cat). Peace.
cow dung is used as manure anyway, ppl will be lucky to have cow dung as manure in their expensive organic food instead of inorganic fertilisers. They r using it as wood and trees r so scarce there.
The kids have such beautiful eyes, especially the kid at 8:37. I have been to Rajasthan, and Rajasthanis have one of the most beautiful eyes on this planet. Cow dung is a very common household cooking fuel in rural India.
What if i tell you that eye liner we used to made at home and most commonly it is used by every mother for their kids. They also consider that it saves child from negativity

Just forget about to killing or eating they don't even allow to cut a singal tree, once a king of that area needed the tree, so he want to cut the tree but vishnoi(this community) don't allow to cut the tree that make the man of king angry and king supreme man order to cut the tree , so a brave Lady called amrita devi, with her 3 brave little giel hugged the tree and say if you want to cut the tree then you have to cut me first ,then the angry man stared to cut tree with her body , the bravery of her spread in village and around 363 vishnoi killed to save the tree. When king heard the news he came to village and sorry to all the people and make announcement that no one will kill or cut the tree near vishnoi villages. This event happen in 1730 and the name of village was khejarli. For mor information search khejarli . There is a famous line in local language. "सिर साटे रुख रहे तो भी सस्तो जाण " mean. If I have to sacrifice my life for a singal tree, then my life will be very cheaper than a tree.

Aah ! Dal Baati. Amazing only found in 2 states of India. Baati's are also made in Oven but cow dung cooked are best. The smoky flavor adds taste. Besides this Indian pickle (Achar) is served as side dish and some baati are crushed and added with sugar to make a dessert. That completes the meal. Thought I add the missing information. The heat kills all the bacteria and dung is dry so not dirty at all. Its just psychological for some who may not like the idea.
Some people makes fried baties also. Most of the people thinks these are the baties. fried baties and oven baties. but I actually know that fried and oven baties doesn't come closer in the taste of bati made with cow dung.

I love when you do videos like these, you should definitely do more going to schools and villages you go to, so interesting seeing all the different ways of life x
Bishnoi's are probably the first environmentalist ever... There are many stories about how the Bishnois have beaten up hunters and poachers for intruding in their area. The sacrifice made by Amrita Devi and over 350 others is a heart-rending example of their devotion. The Maharaja of Jodhpur wanted to build a new palace and required wood for it. To procure this his men went to the area around the village of Jalnadi to fell the trees. When Amrita Devi saw this she rushed out to prevent the men and hugged the first tree, but the axe fell on her and she died on the spot. Before dying she uttered the now famous couplet of the Bishnois, ‘A chopped head is cheaper than a felled tree’. People from 83 surrounding villages rushed to prevent the men from felling the trees and by the end of the day more than 350 had lost their lives. There is a saying that goes "Sir santhe rooke rahe to bhi sasto jaan" this means that if a tree is saved from felling at the cost of one’s head, it should be considered as a good deed. It is for this environmental awareness and commitment that the Bishnois stand apart from other sects and communities in India. they will feed black bucks nd wont harm any animals eating their produce unlike other hindus they wont cremate bodies as it will involve firewood(cutting trees) in a world where nature is only seen for profit making....climate change is dubbed as hoax..melting glaciers, dying rives, polluted air, water, ground water,,,list can go on...WE must act...as recent IPCC report said act you all stupid find more on edugreen.teri.res.in/explore/forestry/bisnoi.htm

I take the pride to say that Rajasthan is perhaps the largest state to follow veganism being 70-75% of people of the state being vegetarian. Hence sheep and goats for just milk or wool is no big thing
rashmi agarwal : What you say is true, which is surprising because due to the poor agriculture ( because of desert conditions ) one would have thought people would naturally eat meat.
Good on them. But one thing I’m not clear about is do they let the sheep and goats die by natural death? The hidden dark reality about raising cows is that they are sold to to Muslim slaughter houses once they stop producing milk. That’s the practice in the place I’m from in south India. Not sure if the bishnois do the same or they have the “goshala” is equivalent for sheep
@@drraghunath83 that's only in South india... we have gaushala for old cows but most of people except very poor farmers keep the cows at home because cows are not Just animals...but one of the family member for us.
This is the most vegan country on planet a jewel in crown of mother Earth , no animal killing no tree cutting ,so much simplicity and mind it you are watching some poor people in middle of desert living with so less resources yet so full of love...what else is needed
There's nothing like vegan on earth dude, if someone is vegan then he would have to take supplements, and that supplement is extracted from animal anyway
This is not vegan . India has most non-vegan items like milk, curd, cheese , butter , ghee. Vegetarian and vegan are totally different terms . India is most vegetarian country, but not most vegan country.
@@amanvirsingh6607 it is not his definition. It is fact. India is not most vegan country. First have some knowledge of what is vegan food. Then comment

Thx dear, but as an Indian I would say that diversity has got some purpose and I personally believe that every country or civilization has got so much good to offer to the rest of us, I think"best" is an overstatement but yes everywhere one can find good food
No, that is pure nonsense

The frying baties and cooked in cow dong a huge difference between them.

Aah !

It is for this environmental awareness and commitment that the Bishnois stand apart from other sects and communities in India.
they will feed black bucks nd wont harm any animals eating their produce
unlike other hindus they wont cremate bodies as it will involve firewood(cutting trees)
in a world where nature is only seen for profit making....climate change is dubbed as hoax..melting glaciers, dying rives, polluted air, water, ground water,,,list can go on...WE must act...as recent IPCC report said act you all stupid
