- Ski and Bike Magazine's on-snow ski test of the ZX 100 from legendary ski manufacturer Kästle... #forskiers is their hashtag and this ski is certainly just that: A ski for skiers who know how to turn a ski. A powerful 100mm freeride ski that's surprisingly happy on the front side and hardpack conditions as it is on the backside of any mountain.

I came back to Kastle when they released the MX series. I've since owned several MX series skis, BMX, FX and TX.
The ZX100 is a less demanding, somehwat more finesse oriented, more playful Kastle. Its a great ski for an Advanced expert skier that wants that Kastle precsion but with less need to drive it all the time and it works at low and high speeds and in a variety of turn shapes. Great initaition and edge grip for a simple layup and its much more rewarding to carve than you might expect.
This ski is soo good that I wish Kastle would offer this in a 158cm for skiers under 5'5" (like my wife who skis on an older FX95).
How would you compare this ski to the FX96 without TI?..
@@darinsmith2458 I haven't skied the FX96HP, but owned the 106hp and previous FX95HP (with metal).
My gut suggests the ZX100 will be a bit less demanding and less precise. It has more tip and tail rocker so its going to be easier in softer snow and bumps but get unselltled a bit more in heavy snow and crud (carbon). The newer Ti versions are even quieter and more powerful but less well suited to lighter or less aggressive skiers.
West coast mid fat for days between storms - FX96, East Coast soft snow ski for powder, bumps trees - ZX100.
Hope that helps
@@chrisgravel7157 I think so... My guess is that the ZX100 is more damp while the FX96 is more reactive..
How would you compare this ski to the FX96 without TI?
rather this in a longer length as a all rounder 185
and a pair of RX 12 SL :)
MX 98 seems in between
I had a older pair of STOCKLI stormriders amazing ski but in steep fall line
just punishing no way could bend it
would be interesting trying these new breed of ski after snowboarding LAST 10 YEARS
Agreed... The perfect quiver would be the 108 and the RX12
wow ..different opinions across the spectrum..the reviews confuses me. looking at construction and design..i seriously dont see this ski as a charging ski..directional for sure and flatter tail but highly maneuverable..playful for intermediate to advanced..experts will likely go for more tech
