That’s awesome to hear man! I really wanted to create a video like this because there’s a lot of info on the internet for CS but not much for CompE. Thanks for checking the video out! Planning on making one next year too
I am in community college studying mechanical engineering and I want to start a youtube channel, this is very good inspiration for me, keep up the good work. All the best going forward!
Although we are pursuing a same course but damn our lifestyles are so different due to the difference in our countries. Loved the content btw Steve. Expecting more bangers from your end. Greeting from India. Darpan
this is a great insight video, there isnt a whole lot of computer engineering videos online, looks really nice to have several lectures a day. I get one a day if im lucky, is really annoying.
Yeah fr man, that's exactly why I made this video. There are so many resources for computer science majors, but there's not much for computer engineering. Hope you enjoyed it!
That’s awesome to hear man! One of my buddies is doing a major in CompE and a minor in physics. I can’t even imagine doing something like that but if you have the willpower to do it and truly love both topics, go for it man!
@@andyq2899 I got my bike at Walmart for $100 four years ago 😂 Riding around UIUC was the first time that I actually started using the bike. However given that it’s getting old, I will need to find a new bike soon. I would recommend putting a tad bit more money into a solid bike if you can, so you won’t have to replace it for a long time.
Yeah same here - in the U.S. the math concepts from Calculus II are taught in AP Calculus BC in high school. The Physics materials covered are taught in the AP Physics I course I took in 11th grade. The only reason why I am taking it in college is because I wasn’t able to get a good enough score on the AP exams to get credit. I’m fairly sure you need a 5 on both of them to get any sort of credit in college.
so i’m doing comp engineering this upcoming fall, can you give a brief but honest overview on the difficulty of the material? seeing all your assignments really intimidates me, but i know that’s bc i know nothing about it yet lol. idk, like, if you put the work and studying in, is it doable? i don’t wanna be super stressed and feel like i’m not smart enough
I’m gonna be a College senior this Fall 2024 and im studying computer engineering full time along with a part time job. I would say that making friends and going to tutoring is gonna be your best bet. You will struggle and there will be times where you are lost, but that’s when you contact your professor, friends, the internet, and learn how to help yourself. You also will need to have discipline to complete your assignments. There are times when you’ll want to procrastinate and that’s completely normal, but it only makes it harder in the long run. I recommend starting assignments as soon as you get them, even if you don’t finish, this gives you more time to digest and think about what you need to do to get good grades. Also this guys schedule was super hectic and intimidating but keep in mind that you will decide your classes and schedule. You can make it max hard like this guy and throw 4-5 classes in one day or do 2 classes a day etc.. also he had a few extra curriculars but if you’re not the type, then you can definitely use that free time to help get assignments done. Keep in mind that college is gonna be a challenge for someone who is pursuing STEM and engineering but it’s not impossible and I know many non bright people who have been through the process, myself included. A’s are not everything, sometimes you have to learn that C’s get degrees and move on. Passing is what matters and at the end of the day being able to say “I’m a computer engineer” will take all the pain away 🤘🏽
I’ll probably discuss this in a future video, but as the guy said above, one of the hardest things about being a computer engineer is realizing that you won’t always be able to achieve perfect scores. The workload is extremely tough and the course subjects are hard. To be honest, my grades have not been good bro 😂 What really matters though is getting the connections in order to get an internship and really pushing to graduate with the CE degree. It can be overwhelming at times but don’t compare yourself to others (way easier said than done), instead build connections and form work groups with fellow students. At the end of the day, everyone is struggling through it together. Also, I recommend you watch the last minute of the video. This is my hardest day of the week, not every day is like this! Prioritize your work but also don’t forget to hang out with the amazing friends you’ll meet in college.
Keep it up dude. Also what are your laptop specs? I am going into EE as a freshman next year and am wondering if I should buy a gaming laptop so I can game on the side as well
Thanks for the support man! I have an ASUS Vivobook OLED (M7600), Ryzen 7, RTX 3050 Ti, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD. It’s a great laptop the one main bottleneck is the RAM as it’s soldered on and not upgradable. If you do want to game on the side I would def recommend getting a gaming laptop as most laptops aren’t built to support heavy gaming.
Found your channel today. I'm really addicted to your vlogs. Basically, I'm from India, and it's like my dream to come to America. All the vlogs were beautiful. I really got addicted to your channel! :D
I have question im also going to be a computer engineering next fall and I just bought amacbook. Could I get by with that for should I opt for a windows
For engineering, ISR would be the best dorm location-wise if you're an EE. However, if you can bring a bike, you have a lot more access to the other dorms as you won't have to travel as far. We are currently staying at Newman Hall which is near the center of campus and is a prime location for business majors.
I’ll be studying computer engineering next year, enjoyed this insight!
Savio has truly given you a fraction of his power
Now that's what I call A Realistic Day in the Life of a Computer Engineering Student at UIUC.
Sick vid. Almost makes me miss school (but not quite)
😂😂
Awesome job Stephen! Proud of you and your hard work!! Keep it up!!
Thank you so much!
As someone who wants to study CE at UIUC, stumbling across your channel is actually a lifesaver
Thanks man!

Hopefully 😭🤞
My enthusiasm for computer engineering is very high... Really love handy things ❤❤❤

You should definitely start a channel, it’s a great way to preserve all the memories. I’ll be posting more videos soon! Thanks for the support man!

Dude I wish they were easy 😂

Most of the CompE’s I know have Windows laptops, but you can still make it work with a Mac
That's a lot of classes! How many credits is that?
17 credits!
Gotta come hit the gym with me when you come home bro
For sure 💪

I think this guy is a Computer Engineering student at UIUC?
Yeah I think so too 🤔
Do you use for your notes also a tablet or just paper?
Ngl I was thinking about getting a tablet for how convenient it is. Right now I just use traditional notebooks.
