ISO 5167-2 :2003
Measurement of fluid flow by means of pressure differential devices inserted in circular cross-section conduits running full - Part 2: Orifice plates.
ISO 5167, consisting of four parts, covers the geometry and method of use (installation and operating conditions) of orifice plates, nozzles and Venturi tubes when they are inserted in a conduit running full to determine the flowrate of the fluid flowing in the conduit. It also gives necessary information for calculating the flowrate and its associated uncertainty.
ISO 5167 consists of the following four parts.
a) ISO 5167-1 gives general terms and definitions, symbols, principles and requirements as well as methods
of measurement and uncertainty that are to be used in conjunction with ISO 5167-2, ISO 5167-3 and ISO 5167-4.
b) ISO 5167-2 specifies orifice plates, which can be used with corner pressure tappings, D and D/2 pressure
tappings2), and flange pressure tappings.
c) ISO 5167-3 specifies ISA 1932 nozzles3), long radius nozzles and Venturi nozzles, which differ in shape
and in the position of the pressure tappings.
d) ISO 5167-4 specifies classical Venturi tubes4).

My best wishes for your success, Keep learning and keep growing in your career !!! ✔
Very nicely explained . Just could you please add some small info for Senior Dual Chamber Orifice and junior orifice
thanks brother, really nice information. good job!
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Thank you Great presentation. Could you please advise air velocity limits ( min and max) in compressed air systems. And way to calculate them
Hi Bro ! New to your channel and literally I have binge watched all your videos. Keep up the good work 👏 If possible, a video on How to review a P&ID would be very helpful :)
thanks a lot for your comment !! made my day, Sure, I will try to make it very soon. It is a very important topic !! 🙂
Excellent refresher
Most welcome !!
Very good 👍 excellent explanation.
Can you make vedio on DPCV ?
How it works in CHW circuit?
how to select it in CHW circuit with hydraunic calculations.
Hii Asad, I have been watching your videos since a long time. Thankyou for sharing such practical knowledge. I have little request, Can you please make a video on interface level measurement using DP type transmitter?
Sure brother !! and Thanks for such kind words of appreciation it means a lot !! 😊
Explanation was great 🤩
Can u make videos on other type of flowmeter also such as magnetic, vortex, coriolis etc what exactly we need to check in vendor calculation sheet for these type of flowmeter. This would be more helpful
Thank you ..... and Sure will work on these flowmeter topics !! thanks for sharing. 😊👌
Hi please make a video on guidelines for flow meter selection on different applications.
Thank you, Eng. Asad
Thank you to you for your constant support and encouragement !!!😊
Hi, Can you please make an video on Thickness Calculation or Code recommended thickness for Orifice.
Hi..Asad..What is the roughness requirement for the the upstream spools of orifice plate?
Hi Asad....very useful information.... how we can get access to read these standards? could u please post some video on orifice sizing and pressure drop...will be more beneficial
keep up ur good work
IHS Subscription gives access to these standards. Major companies have subscription to IHS . Or it is available on shady website but i would not recommend that. 😥
Hi. API 14.3.2 will also provide the guideline of the allowable pressure drop across flow meter which I followed many of projects..refer table 2 of 14.3.2
