It's clear to me that whoever worked on these saws before you bought them had no idea what they were doing. For example, in the beginning, the saw that almost started had the low speed needle set too rich. When this happens the saw will "pop" like it wants to start but you'll never get it started. Then, after you were able to get it going, the high speed needle was set too rich as well. I doubt the engine would even run smooth while in the cut. I've have a Husqvarna 435 that's 6 years old and use it exclusively to limb red oak after felling. They're great little saws if they're maintained properly. My felling/bucking saw is a 17-year old Husqvarna 455 that's recently been rebuilt as a 460 and it'll pull a 24" bar all day long. I wouldn't part with either of them.

I would agree with that. I think some people dont follow any sort of basic troubleshooting steps and just start swapping parts and making adjustments. At least that's what it seemed like here. About everything that could be out of adjustment was. My primary saw is a Husqvarna 162 se that my grandfather bought brand new decades ago. It's a fantastic saw and never let's me down, but it's anything but light. I may have to hang onto one of these for limbing.

Seem to be good for limbing, but I wouldn't use one as a primary firewood saw.
