This is excellent, how you are comparing a lot more budget friendly kettles to each other as well as the EKG. The EKG is a very steep price for many people starting out in the world of coffee or those who refuse to spend over $100 for an electric kettle. This is a great service to the coffee community, by buying, testing and comparing these kettles, so people don't have to blindly buy and hope that they perform well. The Fellow EKG is a nice, though expensive electric kettle, but it is not the do-it-all kettle. My occasional need to boil 1L of water for my Chemex, is what led me in another direction. Yeah I know not everyone can stomach the cost of EKG, I was definitely one of those people before taking the leap lol. Hopefully these videos will help some one out there make a decision on one of these kettles that might be more in their budget.
@@XICups I wouldn't have minded the price if it had a larger capacity and a faster pour rate for a little more versatility inside the realm of coffee and outside interests like tea, ramen or cooking.
I have been tirelessly looking for kettle reviews of a regular kettle, non gooseneck, I don't even know what to call those. Budget or mid-range pricing however it's difficult to find such reviews I would love to see a review from you of that type of kettle maybe you have one tonight overlooked it?
Seriously man….. amazing job. You’re SO THROUGH with your unboxing, I felt like I was almost there. I’ve been looking at the EKG and with this video, I’m going to give the Miroco a very serious look. The EKG is a bit overpriced in my book, I bought the stove version of the EKG and have been using that for a bit, would really like something electric to get the coffee going just that much faster and I don’t have to watch a kettle and play with the fire to hold the temp. The only reason I’m still considering the EKG now is cause Fellow is running some specials on their website where the EKG is part of a bundle so it makes justifying the high price a bit more “palatable” but still a bit of a stretch for an electric kettle. 😎. Just my 2c on the matter. I’m VERY MUCH looking forward to seeing the video comparing all them heads up. Take care and stay healthy 😎

It makes making these videos worth it lol I personally think AFTER using the EKG and these other kettles that the EKG is worth the asking price, however for most of the people that aren't comparing these kettles side by side, some of these other kettles can potentially fit their needs just as well. Especially this kettle, where it's almost identical, only issue being the lack of reviews and the changing of sellers.

Hands down. 😎 You’re right about the different sellers, I tried to find the one you where using and it’s not on Amazon anymore for some reason. It’s so close in specs it’s unreal. I can still see the EKG as a viable option if you get it as a bundle on Fellow’s website, but the $159 price tag is not the most palatable thing in the world. I’m getting used to the stove version ($79 on Amazon for the matte white version - the matte black is $129 for some reason 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️). I’m still waiting to see your comparison of all them and what your take is. If I could make a request…. Can you make a review on the Breville Precision coffee maker please?? I’m so curious on your take with that as well. It may even be appropriate for you and your family cause it does multiple brewing styles/disciplines. 😎
Great video. I'd be interested to know how it holds up after regular use. Miroco version no longer available on Amazon and one of the others you linked to has a few reviews saying it was great until it started having problems. I did order it anyway and hope it's ok.
Yes, the listings changed and I tried to keep the links updated. So far so good, I use it once a week along with my EKG. Reasons like this is exactly why I had my reservations about this unit, if not for the fact that I love the design and handling I might have passed on it as well. But nonetheless I hope that you enjoy it.
I have the miroco...unplug and replug in each time big heavy plug to start? When I didn't do that wouldn't indicate much..and finally would start. Christmas present but not really sure about weird on and off.
I got this kettle two years ago and have used it almost every day since and it’s still working like a champ!
