My fave role of hers is Educating Rita! Such a wonderful role
Definitely.
Mine too.
It’s on tv right now. Never seen it before but it’s good.
Watched it onbbc2 the other night, a funny , sad , poignant & uplifting film . Julie & Michael were fabulous.
I too agree -- it was then that I fell in love with Julie Walters ..
I'm absolutely thrilled that she is now Dame Julie Walters
She is exactly like a girl I graduated with and from the same era. Ever since I saw Educating Rita it struck me and it continues today. Such a strikingly effervescent personality capable of lifting you up with single smile. Even when she's the villain such as Sister, My Sister.
"Personal Services" . was my first Julie Walters movie. She was brilliant. Julie brought dignity, warmth, and hilarious humor to the life of her character. Love this actress.
I love her - long may she reign
A lovely woman in every way. Such a joy on the screen and to hear her speak sometimes it's magic.
her laugh is so infectious, it makes you laugh too. she's such an amazing actress too. she's done so many roles Molly Weasley, Mrs Wilkinson, Mrs Holland etc amazingly.
My favourite drama role of Ms. Walters is Educating Rita. It's the first time I remember seeing her and since.. if I see her name; I want to watch it.. comedy or drama. She's wonderful at her craft.
Terry Shilo I totally agree - but more than that, I personally think that it's the best role that Michael Caine's ever done.
showmoke I totally
agree with you Showmoke
"WOW!"
First time i saw her too...she blew me away!
...and not a word about it!
I felt one of her most moving and touching performances was in a film called 'My Beautiful Son' where she played a Liverpudlian woman who had had her son adopted to an American couple and he came back to Liverpool to find her because he was ill and needed a transplant. It had me in tears... Such a wonderful actress in all her roles
I remember that, good film
Pete Jones i was going to say the same thing i loved that film
SUCH TALENT! SUCH A BODY OF WORK! SUCH A LEGEND! Just brilliant!
Julie Walters is incredible, wonderful sense of humor, excellent actress.
Hey Julie! I had an elderly friend who- to echo Mrs Overall - actually said to my mother: 'Did you see that on the TV about the Lesbenarians?' Perhaps she meant Lebanons?
Thank you for your for the gifts you have shared with us all... BRAVO!!! MORE! MORE! MORE!!!
Always has been my favorite. I love to just listen to her voice. Julie could read a shopping list and I would be happy.
And let's not forget her stupendous performance as Dr.Mo Mowlam,Secretary of State for Northern Ireland who tragically succumbed to a brain tumour.Walters was outstanding in it.
I'm partial to her role based on Cynthia Payne in "Personal Services" and she's a vital, if brief, presence in "Billy Elliot."
Clare Quilty I LOVED her in Billy Elliot.
You've got a willy Dolly 😂
What a Great Actress
loooove julie walters looks like a lovely lady
A national treasure. The girl from Brum did well.Love her.
Rita is her best role!
yes for sure
Agree. And she didn't even mention it. Or Billy Elliot. Its a book selling exercise. Stick it.
I cannot imagine anyone else in the role of Rita/Susan. I believe Michael Caine brought out the best in her. They were perfect together.
A wonderfully pleasant and energizing person. Not to mention her brilliant acting!
Just spat out my beer at the Lebonese comment - too sunny - a British gem.....
Educating Rita.
Educating Rita - she and Caine were a real match
I love Julie whatever she does. If I see her name in the credits, I will always watch it x

"I wish I had the courage to be bourgeois"
With all due respect the “lebanese” joke was originally used on the series The Golden Girls years before Acorn Antiques.
Yes. Rue/Blanche and Bea/Dorothy delivered the lines brilliantly!
Actually Benny Hill used this joke long before the Golden Girls. "She told be she was Lebanese so iIthought I'd be allright."
Why does the autocorrect rewrite what I wrote incorrectly. I'll have another try. "She told me she was Lebanese so I thought I'd be all right."
Adore Bo Overall.
Julie, we know That's Another Story is your auto-bio but are you suggesting we should buy 2 copies?
"I think I'm Lebanese." Think the first time I heard that one was around 1994.
𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕢𝕦𝕖𝕖𝕟𝕖 𝕔𝕠𝕣𝕘𝕚..?
i think victoria wood was an abba fan dancing queen is in the fake documentary about university
Shouldn't Julie Walters be everyone's auntie?
Molly Weasley
Please don’t.
