Ride on Citylink 2202 1991 TMC RTS-08 ex-CTA 4550

I recorded this ride during a trip to Peoria last October. The pictures I took during the layover. I remember the driver enjoyed driving this coach despite its age. This 1991 TMC RTS-08 was formerly a CTA coach, numbered 4550. Citylink bought 10 of these from the CTA about $900 for each.
Here 2202 is running on route 20 ICC Express.
The engine is a Detroit Diesel 6V92 mated with a ZF tranny. You can hear it quite well as the driver was nice enough to turn down the air.

Yep, only one bus motor noise I'll miss more than that...A M.A.N bus(40ft. not those raggedy-ass artics). This bus never got passed 50mph, but that sound made you feel like you was doing 100mph.

Ah I remember riding this actual bus on the 87 ,151,147,146,145,& 103 boy was that a good time. My three favorite bus numbers is 4550,4705,4808.

I miss those things on CTA routes: 22- Clark, 79-79th, 3-King Dr, 4- Cottage Grove, 12-Roosevelt, 9-Ashland, 55-Garfield, 15-Jeffery Local, 21-CermaK, 151-SHERIDIAN (Fav route for TMCs), 201-Evanston, 97-Skokie, 29-State, 63-63rd, 82-Kimball/homan, 147-Outer Dr. Exp, 14-Jeffery Exp.
R.I.P 4400s- always in my memories, I love them to death.

not all tmc rts buses come with a wheel chair lift in the rear some came with the lift in the front were the the bus driver
