❗There is a pinyin mistake in 06:13 (word pair no. 11). The pinyin for 神奇 (magical) should be "shénqí". 🖍 If you don’t know yet, “shadowing" is a language learning technique where learners repeat what someone is saying with as little delay as possible. It’s not “repeat after me ❌”, but “speak along with me ✅”. Shadowing helps learners improve their listening comprehension, pronunciation, and fluency. It's particularly effective for developing an ear for natural speech patterns and reducing accents.
4th tone stands out because of its short and more sharp quality. The rest, especially in quick speech, people don’t pronounce carefully, but context helps, plus when speech slows down and in those places tones are spoken more carefully, it’s important not to confuse the listener by saying the tones wrong *in those audible places*.
Your teaching methods are the best ❤❤❤ Just adddding a context is a great idea, it makes so much sense 💯 I no longer feel like I can't understand what is said, thanks for sharing!
You pronounce it clearly and it is not too difficult to discern it, even without context. And - you reminded me again that you are not only a very good language teacher, but a very intelligent young woman. But I wonder where did you find the word "ei" ("kan ei"). I could not find it in four different dictionaries/vocabularies.
For a second I thought I had completely forgotten myandarin. Studied abroad in college but that was 6 years ago. When she said each word I thought she was going to say each word on the screen and I couldn't tell the difference. I was like she is saying "orange" twice? Can I not hear tones? Then I realized she was just repeating it and I needed to guess which one 😂. Got it right but was worried.
I am soooooooooo tone-deaf lol 😭💔 I pause the screen before you speak, then match your pronunciation with how I'd pronounce the word: 4/20. Luckily with context my score is 19/20 so there's still some chance for me? 😅
Thank you! That was really fun to do! :) I have a question, I have notice that the chinese sentence have a spacing, like some words are say together and others have a little break before, I haven´t found any explanation about that yet, could you maybe give us examples about that? Thank you!
I echo kudos on your teaching methods, Shuo. Chatty, friendly, smiles, and with a sense that we can get to grasp what you are teaching in this lifetime. Keep it up, and very best wishes for many millions of views.
A friend told me that 对不起 (duìbùqǐ) is used on him by his father as an insult because saying it in an specific way it kinda means incompetent or lacking will to do things, is that true?
@@samaval9920 right ? I am back again after 6 months. And I am amazed at how much I progressed ! apart from tones, there are stress, Tone Sandy, many more tips and tricks wish I knew earlier 😭😭
I had to dislike due to numerous mistakes and then putting two different words in the same sentence, thus invalidating the first half of the test. - Adûnâi
Moim zdaniem, tony w chińskim są tak samo "przereklamowane" jak deklinacja w językach słowiańskich... W sensie, nikt Ci nic złego nie zrobi, jak coś źle odmienisz, a nadal będziesz dobrze rozumiany😀

This is one of the hardest things in mandarin... very fascinating😮😮
You are fortunate to not study any
other dialects, as all others have 5 or more !! tones.
Thanks! Please make more of these quizzes its so helpful!
This is very helpful... Please make more videos like these to help us practice

“诶” is a super common modal particle in spoken Chinese, I will make a video in the near future!
I got 100%!!! Also, apparently I’m really tired or something cuz I missed the second blank at 9:58 and thought you said something about “eat sh*t” 😂😂😂
😂 But you still nailed it!
@@ShuoshuoChinese Yeah, I realized it once you reread the sentence and I rewound accordingly. Still, it sounded like something you'd say 😅
Wow! This is great 😊

Yes!! In real life there is always words in context, so don’t worry!
Teacher hello, 4:20 Do 'na3' and 'mai3' change tone and become a 2nd tone?

20/20, but it's good listening/shadowing practice anyway :)
太厉害了吧!
Got everything after 4 years of practicing Chinese.
我爱你的视频 ❤🎉
19/20 correct! Yay!
still dont get it. got an even simpler version?
9:11 wait, what is the difference between these two? aren't they pronounced the same?

谢谢老师. Btw can I call a pretty Chinese girl in my office xiau hua or is that just for school?
I got 16/20! Worse than I thought honestly 😅 (well, with context I got all right, but that's expected)
In 儿化 how to make difference in the words of n/ng they don't appear in listening 😭
play: 玩wan 玩儿 wan er,door: 门men 门儿 men er,馆guan 馆儿 guan er,趣qu 趣儿 qu er,饼bing 饼儿bing er...
”你的媳婦很好看欸,在哪裏買的“
I thought about this too lol 😂
Outlawed a n 1949!
Could number 13 be "my sister is the joke of her school"? Kinda mean but would that work? :D
I am impressed by myself I got most of them right....
Qi is neutral tone in 福气
honestly this is so hard for me. I am habituated with the exaggerated slow pronunciations 😭 so I'm deaf to normal subtle and quick pronunciations
Some show one regular medium
& fast speech short cuts
Example-falling rising 3.rd tone
people usually only speak falling
part, etc.

Nope, tones are as essential as declension in Slavic languages
